If I had a complaint it would be that we arrived at 3:30 and had to wait until 5:15 to get into our room. It was very difficult since I had four young children who had been in the car for almost five hours. In all fairness, we were warned that even though check-in time was 4:00 it could be as late as 5:00 (?) and we did have access to facilities.

A Great Unit to stay in!

Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at the Surf and Racquet club multiple times and this was another unit we enjoyed. It's close to the stairs so you can walk down to your car or the beach instead of using the elevators. Great view of the beach. We loved playing pickleball and shuffleboard at night! The unit was very clean and ready when we arrived for check in. My kids loved the twin beds and tv in the room. The kitchen is spacious and had most of what we needed. Would have loved a coffee start up supply or Keurig option. The king bed was comfortable but would have enjoyed nicer pillows. A/C Unit works great!! Thank you for our stay.

The beach mgr 'Tyler' and his helper 'Jake' did outstanding job.We've stayed in unit 221 before and did this time but won't again unless a kitchen upgrade. Too, we were extremely disappointed with unit 604 that one of our 3 sons stayed in; it should have never been on the rental program. Pool and deck are GREAT !!

Holiday Surf - Unit# 221

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I've stayed at Holiday Surf no fewer than 20 times in the past 35 years. We love the location, the beach, the pool, and the simplicity of it all.Unit 221 has to be the worst kept unit that I've ever seen there. I would be embarrassed as an owner to rent out a place in such condition. Nearly every unit there replaced their back doors a few years back but not 221. IN fact, their door is so bad that you have to pry your fingers into a small gap just to get it open. There isn't even a handle on the outside. None of the kids could open the door once it was closed. The patio and kitchen furniture had rust on it. The living room couch reminded me of something you should throw away after a year of use by your college age kids yet they haven't thrown it out yet. There was a nice rug in the living room, they were using it to cover up HOLES IN THE FLOOR where multiple tiles were cracked and caving in. The master bed creaked and squeaked with any little bit of movement. Thankfully we had great weather and great water for the trip but I would NEVER stay in Unit 221 again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Property is well maintained. Pool and courts are in good condition. The gym is spacious and adequate but does not open until 7am.Units on the property are older but basically clean. The one we stayed in had broken drawers that you really could not use. If you like to cook you will not like the unit. All items are old and the stove heats very unevenly. Wish there had even been a pot to steam veggies. Even the carrot peeler is horrible. We cook so this was frustrating. There are no basic items in the units provided such as coffee. You are only given 2 packets for the dishwasher - so you are forced to buy it at Target for your short stay or hand wash the dishes.Beds were not very comfortable and linens were basic. Pillows were super flat.The view in the unit is great and property is right on the beach.

It was a great property and we had fun. But there are tons of condos to stay in Destin that take Discover. This was a huge problem for us as it has always been the only credit card we carry.

The condo that we stayed in on the other hand I wouldn't recommend. Great location for getting to the beach but everything inside the condo is cheap from the kitchen to the bedroom bathrooms to the furniture. I would not recommend this condo to anyone until it's been upgraded.

Right on the beach!!

The proximity to Hwy 98 is great and offers a wealth of restaurants, stores and fun things to do! Each unit is individually owned...some are more updated and modern...others need some sprucing up. We are snowbirds and have been going to Destin for 4 years. Overall, we enjoy our stay every year.

Worth another visit

Reviewer Comments: While our stay in condo 221 was overall satisfactory and we plan on returning next year, our biggest issue was that the sliding door was extremely hard to open and while one of our friends worked on it and improved the condition, it took 3 calls to the office before it was eventually repaired. On the plus side, the kitchen faucet leaked, the disposal clogged and the lock on the door jammed but these issues were handled in a timely manner.Additionally, we were disappointed that we didn't get the "midpoint cleaning" but didn't report it as we were leaving soon. The bed was comfortable and the couch/sleeper sofa was new. The kitchen was sufficiently supplied.We like the beach area, the pool, the tennis and shuffleboard access and especially enjoy the availability of stores and restaurants. The Snowbird Club provided opportunity for social interaction.

Worst rental condo ever at Holiday Surf

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Unit 221 at Holiday Surf was worst we have ever experienced there(of approx 15)-overall poor conditions- roach in bathroom, sofa very worn-middle cushion virtually non-existent,like sitting on board-vinyl peeling off all 3 seat cushions and most of back, sink and dishwasher smelled foul, plumbing in bathrooms very patchwork (functional but not very appealing-looked like something you would see in a cheap motel) - owner's solution was a $100 credit on a rental of $2,400 - expect more for $2,400 per week - very disappointing.
