Great creek getaway

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here Aug 26th for a week. The cabin is nice and neat. Loved the Mater bed. Enjoyed kayaking up and down the creek. The view on the screened porch is awesome. Would recommend to anyone wishing to getaway from it all.

The cabin has everything you need, and a screened-in porch for hanging out. The surrounding area is gorgeous, with opportunities to hike. A perfect get-away place!

Home Away From Home

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here a couple weeks while waiting to close on our new house and it had all the amenities of home - dishes, linens, washer/dryer, etc. The cabin is in really great shape with very minimal wear and tear. We loved the screened porch because it let the sights and sounds of nature in while keeping the bugs out. We have large dogs and they had a blast running around in the fenced area. It doesn’t connect to the house though so we kept a flashlight handy for navigating out there at night. The outhouse was the cleanest & nicest one I've ever seen but we didn't use it for anything so I can't comment on functionality. We didn't participate in any recreational activities due to weather, but I grew up nearby and can attest to the availability of hiking and boating (no dock at this house though). There are bugs everywhere and the creek can flood, but if you’re considering a creekside cabin, I would hope you already know what you’re getting into. The well water smells like rotten eggs due to hydrogen sulfide, but you get used to it after a couple days. The only reason I didn't give this cabin 5 stars has to do with the bathroom. The water pressure in the shower is pretty weak and the shower curtain was hard to maneuver because the rod is basically a tree branch with a lot of knots.
