The perfect vacation spot for couples and families! NO groups of young adults.

This sun filled apartment is new following reconstruction after Superstorm Sandy. Our kitchen has new cabinets; there is ultra plush carpeting in all bedrooms, laminate flooring in hallway and kitchen, plus ceramic tile in the two baths. When you arrive, you are welcome to pull into the driveway and unload your belongings right outside your entrance. One flight up and you have a delightful respite from the hectic norm. Three bedrooms, two full baths, an eat-in kitchen and a large deck with table, chairs, and lounges that face the ocean will greet you and instantly give you a sense of tranquility. Day or night you can get out and have fun or simply sit home and chill. In fact our central air is perfect in helping you do just that. There are also ceiling fans in all 3 bedrooms as well as the living room. Can't wait to wash the salt and sand off your skin? Our outdoor shower will be most helpful to rid you of all that. We have a laundry room with washer and dryer; a dishwasher, three HD/TVs, a gas grill, plenty of storage space, and an optional cleaning service for when you depart. We feel we have left nothing to chance and can assure you of a delightful living experience when you vacation with us.

Great beach and beach house

Wonderful place, peaceful location

I stayed here with my family and young toddler for a couple of nights. The property was clean, beautifully decorated, and had all the amenities we needed. The location was one block from the beach, and the host was super nice and accommodating. It was just the quiet getaway we were looking for, while still being close to the excitement of Seaside Heights.

We thoroughly enjoyed renting this home for the weekend while our kids competed at Ocean County YMCA. It was the perfect location and had everything we needed. The view from the deck is wonderful! Wonderful stay in Ortley Beach! Linda and Rich and her family couldn't have been nicer. Very helpful and attentive to anything we needed. Excellent location, very responsive owners

Very close to the beach, very clean apartment and quiet neighborhood. The deck outside was like having another room with the extra seating, table and grill. A little hard with having small children being on the second floor but the owners on the first floor were very accommodating and made it well worth it. Owners responded quickly to any of our questions. If we would stay at Ortley Beach again we would definitely stay here.

Our family spent the Fourth of July week at Club Shanahan. The apartment very comfortable and extremely clean. Great layout with master bedroom/bath on one side of the apartment and 2 additional bedrooms and a bath on the other. Nice, open kitchen and living room that opened up to a large deck with an ocean view. Beach block location also a plus! Linda and Rich were wonderful hosts! Look forward to coming again!

Great location up to date amenities

We rented this space off season to be close to but far enough away from the craziness of Thanksgiving. This location had everything we needed to cook our side dishes as well as relax and enjoy our weekend after the meal. The deck while to cold to use was a very nice addition to the ample space already provided in the unit. We will definitely look to come back here every Thanksgiving and maybe in the summer as travel dictates

Great family vacation!

My 3 grown sons and I rented this beach house for a week in July. The home has central air and everything you could want. You can sit outside and see the ocean. You have a short walk to the beach and the boardwalk. There are restaurants nearby and even a farmers market a couple of blocks away. We had a great time and we've been home two weeks and we are still talking about how awesome it all was! We definitely plan on doing this again next year!

Adorable beach cottage feel, in a perfect location

What a wonderful place to stay! The location is ideal- 1/2 a block to the beach, and near many cafes and restaurants in Ortley Beach. We loved our stay. We could easily stroll into town for coffee, bagels, or donuts for a quick breakfast or spend a leisurely breakfast at Sunny Hunny’s diner which are all about a block away. In the evenings, we walked to mini golf, Barnacle Bills arcade, and ice cream. The unit is clean and spacious and adorably decorated which gives it a beach- cottage feel, and you feel like you are on vacation from the moment you walk in. We loved having a full kitchen and access to the grill. The owners were so helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place, and I hope to stay there again!

Absolutely PERFECT for familes

I cannot say enough about Linda and her husband and the beautiful home they have. Our family of 6 stayed here for a week and never once did we feel that we were in each other's way. Linda truly thought of everything to make this the perfect comfortable spot for families. Right down to the baby gate! We will certainly be staying here again in the future. The proximity to the beach, bakery, fruit stand and bagel store was ideal. But our favorite part were our nights we spent having coffee on the deck and watching the sunset over the water. The breeze was incredible and we made memories that will last a lifetime.

Comfortable, spacious, close to the beach

I stayed at this property for two nights in mid-June with three other adults. I communicated with the host several times before we arrived via the Vrbo app. We all thought this was the perfect location for our gathering. The rental unit is on the second floor of a large home built after Hurricane Sandy so everything is new. We had plenty of space, and everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the deck, where we spent mornings and evenings. There is room for you to eat at an indoor table or at an outdoor one on the deck. The house is on a quiet street. The host, Linda, was very accommodating. She lent us beach chairs and beach umbrellas. We thought the outdoor shower was brilliant so we could keep the sand out of the indoor spaces. The house is a very short walk to a beautiful beach. The host supplied badges for free beach access. At the beach we saw about 2 dozen dolphins and several hunchback whales, which really made our stay at the Jersey shore special. I would stay there again. I have nothing but good thoughts about the place and our experience. We all agreed on this! Thank you, Linda, for being so welcoming.

My husband and I have been married 50 years, retired, and have three grown children and two beautiful granddaughters. Our year round home is in Union, NJ where the kids all went to the public schools and then onto Rutgers University. Our daughters now own homes in Clark but the youngest still lives full time with us during the summer months as she is a server at a local restaurant. Our son's home is in Roselle Park. All of us love the Jersey Shore and spend as much time at the beach as jobs and responsibilities will allow. We love company and have made many memories of great times with friends and extended family at this house. The kids were only in high school and college when we bought, so there have been lots of parties, sleepovers, and celebrations to be had. Each season we look forward to lots more.
We are friendly and hospitable but not intrusive. We will do anything within reason to make your vacation a total success.This is your vacation, and if all you want is privacy and relaxation, that is exactly what you will get.

Why they chose this property

As a family vacation, we rented for better than 20 years in Lavallette, the beach town just north of Ortley Beach. We thought that Lavallette was the best. When buying, we didn't want to look anywhere else. Thank God, our realtor insisted we look at 19 Eighth Ave. Ortley Beach. We fell in love with the property and location. That summer we fell equally in love with the beach and the freedom it gave to the beach goers as opposed to the restrictions of Lavallette. You can eat on our beach (we even have local businesses that deliver lunch, snacks, drinks right up there), play ball, dig holes, fly kites and no one bothers you or your kids. Our house is right down the block from the beach, so your bathroom is close by. But clean, air-conditioned bathrooms are also located even closer on the boardwalk. Kids forget their favorite boogey board or need a little break? No problem. As we are beach block, there is no highway to cross and they can return home for whatever, and you can feel safe that all is well. There is little if any crime in the area. Bikes remain out in backyards, blankets, chairs, books, umbrellas are left on the beach while you go home for any reason. No problem. Seaside Heights is about a half mile south of us and offers restaurants, rides, arcades, a water park, pubs, etc. if you seek such excitement. Lavallette has great little shops for your shopping pleasure. Acme superstore is right down the road on Rt. 35 south. We pretty much have it all right here or close by.

What makes this property unique

We loved our original home with its free flowing floor plan and our sun filled sunroom that faced up to the beach. Now with a new architectural plan, we built an even bigger home with even more windows to allow the sun to warm our souls as well as our bodies. We raised the house to local specifications, and as a result, you can clearly see the ocean from the upstairs deck. Sunrise is an awesome sight! We now have a beautiful deck on both floors and are still left with a backyard for games and garden. Trust me, you will not be disappointed if you decide to stay at the Club.
