About Alanna Day
Bob and I have a Working Highland Cattle Ranch at Whiskey Belle Ranch. I stay busy with my flock of chickens and organic garden which keeps my B&B guests happy and healthy at breakfasts. Bob is a retired Architect and I continue to work a couple days a week as a Biofeedback Specialist. When we have time for a bit of fun, you'll see us on our horses TR & Sundance.
Alanna Day purchased this Farmhouse in 2008
Why Alanna Day chose Larimer County
Bob, the retired architect was also a cowboy for most of his working career. He only got to enjoy the Ranch life on weekends. When we were looking for a place to settle down and retire, we found this little ranch which offered us a chance to pursue our dreams of living in the country with our horses and dogs. It also gave us both a huge challenge of remodeling almost every portion of the house and the outbuildings to meet our refined tastes and maintain the historic integrity of this old four square house.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
Our Ranch house was fully renovated from a dilapidated condition to its now professionally designed rustic elegance. It includes three bedrooms with private baths, a sitting area known as the Teddy Roosevelt Room, and a dining room. The kitchen and laundry are private areas for the owners. A new large covered front porch provides shelter from the summer sun and spectacular views of snowcapped Comanche Peak. The best part of the day is enjoying cocktails while surrounded by the vibrant colorful sunsets.

I would stay here again for the company alone, not to mention the breakfast...yum!! We ate on the front porch every morning. With the mountains staring right back at us. Bob and Alanna have a beautiful home that they have been kind enough to share with some lucky travelers. I didn't know it could be so comfortable staying with complete strangers but they know how to make you feel right at home. I recommend this home to anyone looking for a quiet get away. It's perfect!
Could it get any better?!
What an absolute heavenly experience! Quiet, great company, beautiful room and spectacular environment to get away. The food was to die for! Thanks Alanna and Bob!
A wonderful stay, fabulous hosts, and a bucolic setting
My wife and I spent three lovely days at the Whiskey Belle Ranch — a wonderfully restful ambience with beautiful vistas. Alanna and Bob made us extremely comfortable and Alanna sends you off on the day with a marvellous breakfast. Our hosts were fabulous: thoughtful, fun, and delightful to shoot the breeze with. And did I mention that Alanna makes absolutely scrumptious breakfasts? We would be delighted to come back for a return visit if we are ever in the area again.
Wonderful guests like the two of you make our lives as Hosts truly delightful, and the job easy! Hope we see you again.
Perfect vacation to recharge your batteries
Your first impression is to simply soak up the beauty of the property and surrounding landscape. Then you will meet the owners Alanna and Bob. They could not be more welcoming or pleasant. We had a great time on the ranch drinking wine on the bridge in the evenings. The bridge is set up with tables, chairs, lights, and fire pit. We explored the near-by Red Feather Lakes, the views going up the mountain is worth the drive alone. We really enjoyed checking out the horses and even watched Bob feed a calf. We could not have been happier with our stay! If we lived any where close to Colorado, we would ask to take out a time-share for one of their rooms, ha.
Suggestion: Bring some ice and throw-away cooler if you need to chill down beer or perishable snacks. They do have a cooler on the bridge if needed.
My husband and I had a delightful visit recently at The Inn at Whiskey Bell Ranch. The Ranch, tucked in the Colorado Rockies foothills is surrounded with beautiful scenery, lots of colorful wildflower, and plenty of wildlife. The night sky was brilliant with bright and dim stars and an obvious milky way stretching from horizon to horizon. Our hosts Bob and Alanna were friendly and accommodating, the rooms were clean and beautifully decorated. Alanna accommodated my special dietary needs. We would highly recommend The Inn at Whiskey Belle Ranch to anyone who wants to get away for a visit to the mountains, view numerous wildflowers, wild life or do serious star gazing.
I wish there were more stars to give
Such an amazing time at a gorgeous place with incredibly kind, warm-hearted and adventurous hosts. Excellent food, breathtaking views, and outstanding company made this tranquil setting a PERFECT getaway. Can't wait to return!!
We had as much fun as you did. The two of you are a delightful couple, and we look forward to seeing you again. You make hosting a B&B more fun than work.
Whiskey Belle Ranch is located in the Livermore, Colorado area. The closest town is Red Feather Lakes which has hiking, fishing and a lovely golf course which is now opened to the public. We are in the river valley below Phantom Canyon Ranches, and just east of several State Parks, Lower, Middle & Upper Cherokee Park. All of the land around us on Cherokee Park Road is protected by agricultural covenants, or is owned by the Nature Conservancy. We have a little slice of heaven here in our quiet valley.
