LOVED THIS HOUSE
From the moment we pulled into the driveway until the day we pulled out of the driveway, we loved this house. I really hope to come back in the future when it is warmer so we can enjoy the water. Thank you so much for allowing us to enjoy your home. The morning sunrise with coffee in hand was the best part. My family and I enjoyed everything about this house. Thank you again and again.
We really enjoyed our stay.
Charming house with many bedrooms and baths
This is hands down the prettiest home on Tidewater Trail. It has a great floor plan, offering comfortable communal areas as well as privacy in the bedroom wings, five bedrooms and a den that could act as the sixth. For us it was a Thanksgiving retreat. The bedrooms downstairs were carpeted but cold. Grandma, at 96, was on ground floor rather than upstairs in the path of rising heat. It was difficult keeping her warm. If you rent in colder months with elderly, bring electric blankets!
Minor complaints were that there was 1 roll of toilet paper for the 3 bathrooms and no spices other than salt & pepper for cooking. We also found a cockroach our first night by the coffee maker in the kitchen. It was the only one in our stay, but we recommend that the kitchen cupboards be thoroughly cleaned and sprayed including the stove. No roasting pan for anything the size of a turkey, be sure to bring your own!
Weather was perfect!
Sunrises and sunsets were astonishing!
We Felt Like We Were At Home
We enjoyed a wonderful week by the Rappahannock in a home that was spacious and comfortable. We had plenty of room in the common areas to all be together but there were plenty of places to hide for some quiet time as well. The river was beautiful at sunrise, sunset and every moment in between.
Nice property and amenities.

Time Stands Still at the Rivah House
This is a perfect home for families to relax & spend time together while on vacation. Some of us loved fishing off the dock or floating in the Rivah. Others loved doing needlework, reading or making fishing flies on the back porch. Some enjoyed spending time in the basement playing pool, watching DVDs or playing board games.
We ate most of our home cooked or barbecued meals in the large dining room....which was a perfect place to gather. On our last day we ordered local blue claw crabs & dined outside on the picnic table. Every evening we enjoyed sitting outside by the fire which overlooked the Rivah. Some nights we sampled some of local wines that we purchased at nearby wineries.
Our stay was just what we all needed...a relaxing vacation on the Rivah!
