A great place to stay on the river
This property is perfect for a large family with plenty of room and a pool table, foosball game and direct tv in two locations for all to enjoy. The grounds are spacious with plenty of room for outdoor activities. The dock for fishing was a nice bonus. We all enjoyed the sun room with its wonderful views, it was so relaxing. We would recommend this property to all. Jean and Jerry Hart
Great for relaxation
The location was awesome! Right on the river. The house was a little outdated but was very spacious. They could use more televisions, there were only two in the house, none in any of the six bedrooms.
Second year I a row we we arrived to a nice clean house with all the amenities.
As expected the House was in perfect order when we arrived. So much space and a huge variety of entertainment options. The dock is so convenient for docking, fishing, or just sipping on a drink. Sunrises over the river are the best
Piece of Paradise
This was our 4th summer vacation in this lovely home. Kitchen is completely furnished with anything you could possibly need. Lots of room inside to be together or to have some quiet time. We love the great pier and enjoy using our boat, kayaks and paddle boards. The landscaping is pretty and the view is what postcards are made of. Tappahannock is so close with wonderful restaurants and every shopping convenience for food or other needed items. We definitely look forward to returning in 2019.
Great Beautiful week enjoyed by all. House was very quaint and well maintained for being built in 1945-46. We all enjoyed the old history of the house. Kids enjoyed the movie room downstairs, the beach and water. We had our boat docked right in front of the house and enjoyed daily rides exploring the area. Unfortunately, the only fish caught was a catfish, of which we put back. The older two grandsons enjoyed fishing off the dock but didn't catch anything. Lots of thing in the shed for the kids to do. I bought them a slip and slide at the local goodwill and put it down the hill. It was the best $2 ever spent. We bought crabs twice from the local crabber, they were yummy. Went into town one afternoon and walked around the old part, went to the Museum, very interesting. Beautiful area. Now the drawbacks. No garbage pickup, you must take you trash to the recycler. The refrigerator didn't get very cold and we had it turned up all the way. Kayaks would have been a plus, maybe next time. Overall, we really enjoyed our week. Keep up the good work. The Mackies.
This is our second year renting and as last year, we were very pleased. The weather and water couldn’t have been nicer. The home was clean and welcoming. We love that it is big enough to house 4 generations; my mom, my husband and I, my children and my grandchild. This has been a family tradition since I was a child and now incredible to share it with my first grandchild. We all love the river life and very thankful we have the opportunity to rent this cottage. Location couldn’t be any better. Already planning next years trip.
