We Felt Like We Were At Home

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a wonderful week by the Rappahannock in a home that was spacious and comfortable. We had plenty of room in the common areas to all be together but there were plenty of places to hide for some quiet time as well. The river was beautiful at sunrise, sunset and every moment in between.

Time Stands Still at the Rivah House

  • 5 of 5

This is a perfect home for families to relax & spend time together while on vacation. Some of us loved fishing off the dock or floating in the Rivah. Others loved doing needlework, reading or making fishing flies on the back porch. Some enjoyed spending time in the basement playing pool, watching DVDs or playing board games.

We ate most of our home cooked or barbecued meals in the large dining room....which was a perfect place to gather. On our last day we ordered local blue claw crabs & dined outside on the picnic table. Every evening we enjoyed sitting outside by the fire which overlooked the Rivah. Some nights we sampled some of local wines that we purchased at nearby wineries.

Our stay was just what we all needed...a relaxing vacation on the Rivah!

Beautiful historic property with plenty of room to relax and play!

  • 5 of 5

Stayed for a week with a big group of friends, there was plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable. We were able to launch our boat at the very close by June Parker Marina and had it tied to the house's newly built dock all week. We fished , swam, and made use of the BBQ grills. At night or in inclement weather we really enjoyed having the poker and pool tables in the basement. Planning to go back with the family in the future. The owner was also very easy to work with.

An incredible week with my adult children, my husband and my mother!

  • 5 of 5

There were so many wonderful memories made from floating in the river to sitting on the porch watching the birds and water. The house is wonderful, big enough to have privacy and big enough to come together as a family for meals and conversation. Our family is expanding next year with the birth of our first grandchild. I can't wait to go back and make new memories. Love the shopping. The only thing, we would love to know the history of the house and stories of the family that grew up there as you can feel the history. Thank you for sharing the river with us!!

Overall good

  • 4 of 5

We found the house to be good for sleeping and eating but the television situation was not good. A tiny tv in the kitchen with a very uncomfortable 3 person couch. I know there was a bigger tv in the basement, but the basement was very unappealing. No one wanted to go down there, even for a better tv.

The outside table was really dirty, not just from one week not being cleaned, it looked like it was never cleaned. I had to scrub it to get it ok for my family.
