About Tanya Walker and Melodi Walker McKeighan
Tanya Walker and Melodi Walker McKeighan invite you to enjoy and explore our hometown where "You're a Stranger Only Once"! We feel very fortunate to have grown up in small town America and enjoy the many amenities our village has to offer. You can walk or bike ride within minutes to the fair, fireworks, restaurants, schools, parks and downtown. You can also relax on the back patio or play pool or ping pong in our basement rec room. Built in 1951, we have called this "home" since 1968. It still retains it's beautiful woodwork, mid-century modern styling, arched doorways and many unique built-ins. Even though we don't currently live in Arthur, we come back many times throughout the year to visit friends, family and enjoy the festivals. It is and always will be "home"!

Best part of our trip
This is a lovely comfortable home with plenty of room to socialize - this was the best part of our stay, the beds were super comfortable and the shower wonderful. The hosts provided things to do and see. This is a nice home, very upkept. I would definitely stay there again.
Thank you so much! We would love to have you again! I hope you enjoyed our recommendations! Best wishes!
Perfect for us!
This was our third time staying in this house and it's just perfect! We host dinner for 30 two nights in a row for a high school track team and this is a great place for that! First of all the house is spotless! Second, Tanya is very friendly, accommodating and helpful. She helped my daughter and I unload a car full of pots and pans and groceries in very hot temperatures and did so with a smile on her face! Third, the basement has a pool table, ping pong and foos ball and the boys loved hanging out after dinner. We hope Tanya will continue to let us stay for years to come!
Thanks Lynne! We love having you and hope your track team did well at State! We truly hope you view The Walker Family Inn as your home and would love to have you stay again! Melodi and Tanya
Great place for a quiet family vacation in the heart of Illinois Amish farmland. The house was comfortable and our family enjoyed playing pool and darts in the basement. Our daughter's graduation in Champaign was not too far to commute (45 minutes), and we'd like to explore more of downtown Arthur the next time we're in the area. Cinnamon rolls left by our hosts were excellent!
Made traveling easy
Staying in the clean and organised Walker Family Inn made traveling easy for our family.
Walker Family Inn was exactly what was needed
It was great to find a clean and roomy home to stay for a month while visiting family and working remotely. The owners were very organised and helpful for us to get settled and quickly addressed any questions. The home is very well maintained.
Thank you so much! We are so happy we could help with your extended stay and loved having you! Please consider us your home away from home!
Great place to stay
My niece and her family stayed here while visiting. They loved it! Plenty of room, great location and wonderful hosts!!
In the heart of Illinois' largest and oldest Amish community, Arthur is just 10 minutes west of Interstate 57 and Arcola on Illinois Rte 133. Conveniently located, we are 20 minutes from Lake Shelbyville, 50 minutes from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and just a few hours away from Chicago, Indianapolis and St. Louis. From Interstate 57, take exit 203 and head west towards Arthur on Rte 133.. It is about a 10 minute drive. In Arthur, turn onto Pine Street (it is directly in front of the high school). Go one block to Logan Street and turn right. Our house is the yellow cape cod on the corner of Spruce and Logan. If you are using a GPS to guide your way, the house address is: 39.711843,-88.468750
Explore the surrounding countryside and the many Amish shops that surround our village. The horse-drawn Amish buggies and teams of horses plowing the fields are a common sight. Step back in time to a slower pace of life and relax or enjoy one of our many festivals. Arthur's Freedom Celebration, Moultrie-Douglas County Fair, The Great Pumpkin Patch, Arthur Cheese Festival, Chet Kingery Bluegrass Festival and Mennonite Relief Sale are just of few events held throughout the year.
