About Cameron Phillips
We have spent our lifetimes living and raising our four children, now 9 grandkids in Yellowstone Country. We love to hike Yellowstone Park, we are major fly fishing, skiing and cycling nuts, we love just sitting in the pines, taking the grandkids on nature walks, and provide a destination for our children.
Cameron Phillips purchased this Cabin in 2003
Why Cameron Phillips chose Lazy Acres
We chose Moose Haven because of the very close location to Yellowstone Park (7 miles), the area fishing, and yet because the home is located in the forest you still think your far, far away from civilization. My wife has been in this area since she was 3, I started going there 40+ years ago, it has always been a dream to be there. During other times of the year we down in So Cal enjoying sunshine, during July we work in France for the Tour De France bike race, getting to ride bikes is our work each summer!
What makes this Cabin unique
A real benefit staying in our home...is that it is just that...'our home', it is not a shell rental unit, but is a rich, comfortable, very well appointed home with everything you need. We are 10 minutes from West Yellowstone, and YNP west gate. The town has all amenities with good restaurants and grocery stores. We are within 45 minutes of the best fishing waters in the US, if not the world. Lake Hebgen is a large lake 5 minutes away, horseback outfitters 5 minutes away, 90 miles to the south is Jackson Hole and the Grand Teton Park. We like the bakery and coffee shops in town, and much more. One of our favorite activities, is to simply have a nice lunch on the back deck, do some reading and listen to the wind through the tall pines and then nap....yes NAP! It is a must do experience!

Great property close to the park
Very clean property that is well cared for. Great location to use as a base camp for days on yellowstone or for the many other outdoor activities that the area provides.
Moose Haven was an excellent place to come “home” to after a day of exploring Yellowstone. It was clean and provided two separate living areas with bed and bath (perfect for 2 couples). Loved our stay and enjoyed the warmth of a gas “wood-burning” stove.
Great location, cozy cabin!
This was our pad for a 5 day trip to Yellowstone NP. The location is awesome - in a quiet neighborhood, off of Hwy 22 and a short 10 min drive to the West entrance of YNP. A nice deck in the backyard, with a fire pit and a small treehouse - lovely touches to the property.
The house itself is cozy and comfortable, and came well stacked with supplies - towels, linens, soaps, etc. The washer/dryer in the basement was helpful too.
The local manager lives across the street and is available if you need any help, or local tips, etc.
Overall - I recommend this place if you are visiting YNP.
Good spot outside West Yellowstone
This was a good spot for a small family reunion outside Yellowstone.
Great for Families
We were traveling with a party of six (4 adults and 2 kids). We loved that it was outside the hubbub of West Yellowstone but was still close enough to be convenient. The deck and campfire area was our favorite areas and we utilized them often. The yard itself was very private with no neighbors on top of you. The kitchen was also very nice and well stocked. We cooked several meals and found everything we needed. There was quite a bit of living space since the basement was finished as well. The setup of 3 levels allowed for additional privacy which was nice. The biggest challenge was dealing with the very small main bathroom. The bathroom in the basement was much nicer but meant that upstairs guests had to go down 2 flights of stairs. One of the adults was in the upstairs king room and found it too hot to sleep 2 of the nights (it was July) and moved down to the couch. However the kids did not seem to mind and in fact enjoyed their own space upstairs. The 2nd bedroom upstairs with the twin beds is best utilized for kids. One thing to note is that while the basement is finished and has a nice bedroom but it still has a basement feel. Although I will say the bed down there was one of the most comfortable that I have ever slept in. Great bedding and linens throughout the home and very plentiful. We also utilized the laundry facilities which definitely came in handy.
We loved how close it was to Yellowstone. Lovely house with everything a person needs if you forget it at home. Outside grill and fire pit was great. Had a relaxing time. Only one day there was so much traffic to get into Yellowstone we decided to take a side trip and found Earthquake lake. Gorgeous lake. More relaxing area then Yellowstone
Fishing, horseback riding, forest hikes, flower walks, mountain biking, etc all within two miles of the home. Like fishing???? Who doesn't, Hebgen Lake is 3 miles away, YNP 7 miles and within an 45 mins are 20 of the top fisheries in the US
