Cabine Vintage entièrement modernisée, grande plage, vue sur le lac

La petite maison en pierre, située dans la petite communauté fermée d'Elks Point, a été construite en 1927 avec du granit provenant de l'excavation du tunnel Cave Rock à proximité. Bien qu'il conserve tout le charme d'une cabane des années 1920, ce refuge de montagne a été entièrement rénové en 2008 avec des équipements modernes et a remporté le prix de la «meilleure conservation historique» du magazine Mountain Home.

Hiver comme été, la Little Stone House est confortable et accueillante. La belle cheminée en pierre rend le salon confortable si relaxant après votre journée sur les pistes. Pendant les mois les plus chauds, cette charmante maison offre plusieurs espaces extérieurs pour profiter du magnifique paysage. À l'étage, il y a deux chambres avec salles de bains attenantes - l'une avec une grande douche en marbre et l'autre avec la baignoire sur pattes d'origine qui vous ramènera à une époque plus simple pendant que vous vous imprégnez et regardez le puits de lumière au-dessus. Le canapé-lit dans le loft est l'endroit idéal pour les enfants à dormir. Deux petits ponts hors de la chambre et du grenier sont des endroits relaxants pour votre café du matin. Il y a aussi une demi-salle de bain en bas. La cuisine magnifiquement rénovée et entièrement équipée comprend des comptoirs en marbre et un évier de ferme en cuivre, et la salle à manger peut accueillir confortablement six personnes. Le pont arrière, ombragé par de grands pins, a une vue filtrée sur le lac, et la table à manger extérieure peut accueillir huit personnes.

La communauté d'Elk Point possède une grande plage, accessible en voiture ou en cinq minutes à pied. La plage comprend une zone de baignade avec un bassin ancré et une plateforme de plongée, un terrain de beach-volley et une fosse en fer à cheval. Des kayaks doubles et simples, une planche à pagaie, des vélos, des jouets aquatiques, des pare-soleil et plusieurs tailles de gilets de sauvetage sont disponibles pour votre usage.

À quelques minutes se trouvent la station de ski Heavenly (avec un ski de classe mondiale ainsi qu'une grande variété d'activités estivales) et le parcours de golf Edgewood, qui abrite le Celebrity Golf Classic. Les sentiers de renommée mondiale Tahoe Rim (randonnée et vélo) et Flume Trail (vélo) sont accessibles à proximité. Une épicerie à service complet est à 1,6 km et vous n'avez même pas besoin de prendre l'autoroute.

The Little Stone House is a wonderful place. It was very charming and comfortable. It was filled with everything you would need for a wonderful stay at Lake Tahoe. We were able to cook great meals both in the kitchen and using the grill. Plus, you are very close to Stateline / South Lake Tahoe if you want to go out to eat or shopping. The decor was tremendous making it a very cozy place to stay. Everything you needed from linens to LOTS of games & puzzles was there. It was an added plus there was a washer and dryer since our visit was at the end of a longer trip to California. Nancy, the host, provided EXCEPTIONAL information about how to reach the property, how to use and find all of the amenities and TONS of information about what to do in the surrounding area. I can't think of much more you would need.Overall, a great visit.

Magical, peaceful, old Tahoe, the view of Tahoe through the trees was my favorite, a short walk to private beach, the host has thought of everything to ensure guests have a great time (kayaks and paddle boards included) and left clear, detailed instructions to make the trip seamless. We absolutely loved our stay at the Little Stone House!  Nancy, the host, was a pleasure to work with.  She was very quick to respond to any questions we had. The house is so charming.  From the moment we walked in, we were so impressed by the architecture and craftsmanship.  The home is very well stocked.  We cooked in 4 nights, and the kitchen had everything we needed.  The private beach is only a 5-minute walk away.  In the mornings, the water was so calm, it was perfect for kayaking.  In the evenings, the sunsets were beautiful.  It is so peaceful and quiet at night. The location is ideal for exploring all that Lake Tahoe has to offer.  We enjoyed hiking, with our 3 favorites being the Eagle Lake trail, the Rubicon trail to the lighthouse at D. L. Bliss State Park, and Picnic Rock trail. On the east shore, we were amazed by the rock formations and the colors of the water, from turquoise to deep blue. Bike riding, swimming, and taking photos were all so much fun.   After a day of adventures, we loved coming back to the house, relaxing with the fireplace on, and enjoying the serenity of this very special home.  Thank you, Nancy, for sharing your home with us!

There are plenty of places to stay in Lake Tahoe, but very few that actually become part of the experience. This one does.This home is a luxury cabin that somehow takes you back in time, and for us, that was a big part of what made the stay so special.Lake Tahoe is beautiful, but staying in a home that actually complements the character and beauty of the area is worth every penny. Having grown up in Tahoe, so many of my memories are tied to the pine trees, fishing and hiking, and the sound of small waves lapping against the shoreline. Waking up each morning and simply enjoying the rustic charm and setting of this home brought a lot of those memories flooding back.One of the biggest advantages, though, is the private beach access. With Tahoe’s public beaches becoming so crowded, it is hard to overstate how nice it was to walk down to a quiet, beautiful beach and still experience the peaceful Lake Tahoe I remember. You can also drive down, and parking was easy. The beach itself is gorgeous, with crystal-clear water ranging from emerald green to beautiful shades of blue.This will absolutely be our go-to place whenever we return to Tahoe.

Perfect South Tahoe Getaway

A Wonderful Getaway

This property is truly amazing. The Little Stonehouse is super clean, very well stocked, and is warm and comfortable. The location is great with many hiking paths and close to the lake. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone wishing to visit Lake Tahoe.

My husband and I have lived in the area our entire lives. We are managing and maintaining this property ourselves in order to provide you a quality service. Nancy is an avid hiker and has hiked the Tahoe Rim Trail thirteen times as well as most other trails in the area and would love to help you with your hiking decisions.

Because we grew up in the area and we are not young, we remember Tahoe when it was quieter and slower. Entering the gates to Elk Point is like going back to our youth. The house was built in the 1920s with granite from the excavation of the original Cave Rock Tunnel. The previous owners went to great lengths to give you the old feel with all the modern conveniences. It won the Mountain Home Magazine's "Historic Preservation Award" in 2010. We have fallen in love with the house and the community.

The quaint community of Elk Point has a private beach and access to hiking and biking trails without getting in a car. A beach restaurant and bar within a short walking distance. A full service grocery store less than a mile and you never have to get on the highway. The community is small and very quiet. The beach is incredible and rarely crowded. There is a beach volleyball court, a horseshoe pit and kayaks at the beach. Edgewood Golf Course, Harvey's outdoor theater, Heavenly Valley Ski Resort, Tahoe Rim Trail, Flume Trail, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, MS Dixie, winter snowmobiling, sledding, ice skating, and the Stateline casinos are all very close. Great house, great beach and great location.
