The Forgotten Coast:

This Alligator Point Cottage is located right on the Gulf of Mexico in what’s known as Florida’s Forgotten Coast. While the Forgotten Coast is not as developed as is other Florida Gulf beaches such as Destin or Panama City, this stretch of Gulf waters has it’s own unique beauty.

A Natural for Family Enjoyment:

Alligator Court Cottage is perfect for young families, seniors or just a group of girl friends looking for a peaceful beach stay. Alligator Point is in an excellent white sand beach and awaits you for sunning, swimming, fishing from shore or just reading a good book. At Alligator Point you need not worry about being disturbed by any of Hank’s Williams rowdy friends. The rowdies are at Panama City Beach.

Older property however on a great secluded beach

  • 5 of 5

Outside of the property is deceiving. You walk in and it is very spacious, great view of the secluded beach. Nice large back porch with a hammock, chairs, and picnic table. No street noise, very quiet. Easy to just walk out of the house down to the beach and drop your stuff. There were only a few people on the beach at any given time. I ran the beach twice and if you go out to the left, turn back once you can't go any farther, go past the house to the rock wall and back to the house it is about 5.67 miles. Loved the two living rooms, that each bedroom had its own bathroom, the outdoor showers, Netflix for the rainy days which we had. Plenty of board games at the house as well. I liked how secluded it was however some may not like that it takes about 20 mins to get to a restaurant. We came prepared with all the food we needed as we were told the closest grocery store was about 15-20 mins away and it was a Family Dollar with limited supply. We tried Mad Anthony's and the food and view were good but the service wasn't the greatest. Really no space in the closets or dressers to put any of your stuff away during your stay. Pillows are very flat. There was a lot of seaweed in the water and on the sand when we went. Not sure if that is normal or just churned up from the storms we were having. Lots of crabs on the beach as well. Overall, great place, great location!

An older property with a great view of the beach.

  • 4 of 5

This is an older cottage, but very comfortable, clean, and well maintained.

An excellent, well equipped kitchen was much appreciated as we only ate out twice (Angelo's).

I highly recommend this property for a couple or small family.

What a pleasure to sit on the screened porch and watch dolphins, pelicans, and other interesting sights down on the beach.

Perfect family vacation, away from it all

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at Alligator Point!! The house was the perfect size for our 2 families. The beach and area are beautiful! We enjoyed fishing off the shore, spending time at the beach, and finding shells. We saw dolphins everyday and it was amazing to see them play right in front of us off the shore. We also saw sting rays swimming close to shore, feeding. We visited the gulf shore aquarium and Bald Point State Park, both worth checking out!

My version of Heaven!

  • 5 of 5

If you enjoy restaurants with water views, delivery service, souvenir shops, nightclubs, and giggling crowds of barely-there-bikinis... then this is not the place for you....

However...this is EXACTLY what we were looking for!

Very reminiscent of going to the beach when I was a child... you know... before they figured out how to hide the beach behind giant walls of condominiums?

The house has everything you could need (kitchen/cooking implements especially well-stocked!), and perfect for families... just plan and prepare well as there is not a store anywhere close (a PLUS for us!)

Because it is 'away from it all'...the night sky here is something to see!

Typical days:

Our boys tried all manner of fishing (cast nets, crab nets, rod-n-reel) as we sat and watched from the porch.

Everyone enjoyed the dolphin-spotting and beach-combing!

Then for dinner we grilled 'surf-n-turf' (charcoal grills) or roasted hot dogs over the fire, after which we played games on the screened porch...

then an intense round of star-gazing (bring a book/map of constellations!)

We brought cots and took turns sleeping on the porch listening to the waves... NO TRAFFIC NOISES!

Rinse...(outdoor showers!) repeat...

truly... it never got old, and we HATED to leave!

A couple of bits of advice:

ANY time of year... bring bug repellent!

In the 'deep' southeast there will always be mosquitoes, noseeums, biting flies... (or all of the above!) ... it is a smart move to have benadryl as well!

Also bring footwear... when there are no construction companies plowing dunes under, and no cabana boys 'combing' the beaches for the guests...there WILL be sand burrs.. so barefoot is not a great idea!

We had water-walkers and flip-flops, and had no problems!

Also, there is a VERY nice refrigerator/freezer... but there is only one...

so if you are a big group who likes cold bevs... then planning for ice chests is another smart move!

There is very, very limited cabinet space (because all the cabinets contain great and useful things!) so pack some of your things in a large plastic bin and then use that as 'your pantry' while you are there.... worked very well for us!

If all of the above sounds good to you... then I can not recommend this place enough!

We will be back!

Great Rental

  • 5 of 5

House is very nice, clean and comfortable. Screen porch gives you a wonderful view of the ocean and you can watch the dolphins swim by. Peaceful location, away from it all but close enough to restaurants and a quick trip to Crawfordville for supplies. And Tiffany is great to deal with and very helpful. Highly recommend.
