About Wade and Patricia Evans
We are a product of on online dating. Patricia moved from MN to the Northern Hills in 1979. Wade was born in Spearfish, but was living in Colorado, counting days until the next time he could get back the 'The Hills'.
Wade and Patricia Evans purchased this Recreational Vehicle in 2010
Why Wade and Patricia Evans chose Hot Springs
When we found the property online, we fell in love with the house... and Wade the shop. But after we came to see it in person and walked to the cliff... well, it was just amazing. You have to see it in person to understand. Everyday, we tell our 3 dogs and 3 cats, 'we are going to the cliff' and we all take a hike together, stopping just to sit and look. Seems like every hike, we see something new, we never noticed before. So nice here, we had our wedding at the cliff edge in 2012. We have a hard time figuring out where to 'go' for a vacation... we feel we are living in our perfect vacation spot and now we have discovered that we really enjoy sharing our favorite spot and the chance to meet new friends in the process.
What makes this Recreational Vehicle unique
We want every guest to feel right at home and provide everything you could ever need. We treat our guests as family... that traveled from across the country and have what they need to relax and prepare for the best vacation possible. We know most families only get 1 or 2 vacations a year, we are very honored to be a part of that experience.

Glamping Birthday for my wife was GREAT!
Wade & Patricia's eclectic property made for the perfect glamping birthday surprise for my wife. We haven't been able to camp (i.e. sleep on the ground) for 10+ years due to my mobility issues. Since my wife LOVES to camp, this was the perfect solution to our dilemma, and perfect for her birthday surprise! Many thanks to Wade & Patricia! I would have easily gone 5 stars except for the accessibility challenges. I made it through with a couple of creative strategies, but it was still a fantastic experience -- and, best of all, my wife's birthday was one to remember and cherish forever!
The tent is a perfect little place if you want to be outdoors but still have all the modern comforts you want. The host was very kind gave us a tour, let us know where to find him, then just let us do our thing. Loved the fireplace and the deck, the bed was totally comfortable, and the out door shower is neat.. FYI at night if it's windy it will Creek loudly.. but it's just because it's a tree house tent! Once you get used to it you will fall right back asleep.
Great escape in a beautiful location. The tent was great, kept us dry when it rained, never cramped. Maybe not quite as secluded as the pictures make it seem, but never felt infringed upon either. Thanks for helping us have an incredible Black Hills escape!
It was our first time glamping and we really enjoyed it. The tent was as big as some hotel rooms and very comfy, even as it poured rain during the week hours and into the morning. Peaceful and quiet and memorable. Thank you.
Wonderful Glamping experience
What a wonderful place to lay your head under a bowlful of stars. The bed was so comfortable and the accommodations were spacious and clean. We loved th fireplace and outdoor shower. Great space for kids to play with natures legos. Sticks, stones and pine cones .We loved it.
Peaceful retreat from our busy daytime roadtrip
Patricia and Wade have made a beautiful alternative for people road tripping and sightseeing in South Dakota. We spent our days going to Custer State Park, Wind Caves, Mount Rushmore, Chief Crazy Horse Memorial, and even a casino that was located only about 25 - 30 miles away. Then we would return to our beautiful tent and make dinner and relax. There was everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and we couldn't have had a better time. In fact I had tears in my eyes when we left, it was a really wonderful vacation. The bed was really comfortable. The wifi and direct tv kept us updated on Hurricane Irma. It was really hot the week we were there, but the night times cooled off and there was a fan in the tent, so life was good. If we ever go back to South Dakota, I would not hesitate to stay again. It was a blast.
