This is a stunning three bedroom oceanfront unit at the popular Ocean Dunes resort.

This spacious three bedroom unit boasts a large ocean front deck with views for miles! Access the deck from the living room, any of the bedrooms, or the sun room. The unit features an ocean front master bedroom with a king bed, deck access, and a sunroom. The second master bedroom is in the rear of the house with a queen bed and deck access. The third bedroom has a queen bed and deck access. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances and great ocean views.

The complex offers three outdoor swimming pools, an indoor pool, workout room, and hot tub. There are also tennis courts and a play ground. Located in Fort Fisher, Ocean Dunes is just minutes to the NC Aquarium, Fort Fisher State Park, and the NC Ferry.

Activities for the entire family are all within a couple mile radius from this property.

It is the perfect getaway.

Ocean view

My family and I loved this location- the view and the deck make this spot. It was close enough to everything so going out wasn’t a hassle but far enough so the area was quiet. The garage had everything you would need for the beach, umbrellas, chairs and sand toys. We took the bikes for a ride as well. The pools were nice especially the indoor option for rainy days. However the playground and tennis courts were fairly run down. I only had two complaints, the coffee maker needs replaced it seriously took 15min to brew a pot and if you have multiple adults looking for coffee some people had to wait. Lastly the master bedroom king size bed is terrible. If you are lucky you’ll take the side by the ocean and get a good night sleep. If you are unlucky you’ll get the other side. Seems like the springs on that side gave in and the mattress sinks down- on the 3rd night you’ll be playing rock, paper, scissors to see who gets that side.

Very nice place

This was a very nice place for my mother of 93, elevator and shower with seat especially. Property is nice, my mother could sit on balcony and look at ocean all day. We enjoyed the beach access and pool. All very convenient. Will stay here again.

Stay was wonderful

Only one thing that was a minor problem was the upstairs noise. The rest of the stay was amazing.

Long weekend

My husband and I had a long weekend off of work and decided last minute to go to the beach. We rented this condo and it was exactly as described. We enjoyed our visit alot. We got to relax and sit on the deck and watch the waves which were right there!! It was an awesome weekend. Thank you so much!

Beautiful place, beautiful location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: House was everything we could have asked for. Fully stocked kitchen, game closet and a garage filled with beach items. My family of 5 had plenty of space to spread out. The beach access was right outside the door. I loved that our beach was not crowded compared to Carolina beach just down the road. We had plenty of room to set up and play in the sand and ocean. The view off the wrap around balcony was AMAZING. We loved seeing watching the sunrise every morning, seeing the pelicans play in the water and were even lucky enough to see some dolphins swim by. There is a ton of stuff to do in the area. We were able to find lots of fun things to do using the hospitality app that was provided to us. Easily one of the best beach vacations we have ever had!!

The addition of a King bed in the Master BR is a big improvement.The overhead light in the kitchen needs replaced. It didn’t work.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second year staying in 1806 and we all agreed, this is truly our happy place. Such a great condo in a great location. I was thrilled to see some upgrades made between last year and this year and the new paint on the building makes it look so nice now! We were able to enjoy the pools this year too in addition to the beach. It truly is paradise. If you stay, I promise you will be spoiled and no other place will compare (trust me, we tried and failed). Only future wish would be electronic door locks as they take the fear of losing the keys away.All in all, we love this condo and can’t wait to come back next year!!

We'll be back!

We LOVED 1806 Ocean Dunes- the condo was just as pictured, clean, well equipped. The covered, wrap around porch was excellent- rockers and high top table and room to run around for the kids. The rec center is right across the street and the kids enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor pools. We have rented up and down the Carolina coast and this is our favorite spot. The condo has lots of "areas" so no one feels crowded or on top of each other; the additional round table was perfect for games, puzzles, laptops. Drawback was limited bandwith and we have a lot of devices. We didn't use the garage- if you are counting on it to protect your car you'll need to do some housekeeping first- lots of stuff; plus opener didn't work. Let the management company keep the opener, use the house key to open side door to access chairs, etc. There was no way to return it when we left early as it doesn't fit in the lockbox slot. Now I have to mail it back :(. Kure Beach is quiet, family centered and only a few minutes from the fun on the Carolina Beach boardwalk. Limited beach toys but lots of games and puzzles. A+++

Sunrises on an ocean liner

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Wonderful sunrises from the master suite, so close to the ocean edge we felt like we were on an ocean liner. Huge flocks of sea birds following the shrimp boats. Three bikes in the enclosed two-car garage were fun to ride out to the end of the island. Only a short walk to the beautiful Live Oak grove around the Civil War battle site of Fort Fisher. We appreciated the well-appointed kitchen with an excellent set of pots and pans as well as spices, flour and even baking soda in the cupboard. Only problem was the refrigerator tended to freeze our veggies. A wonderful COVID get-away.

Beautiful but misleading

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a beautiful place right on the ocean but when it talks about amenities none of them are close by to this particular unit. We did see some bugs and didn’t feel like the place was as clean as it should be upon arrival especially with Covid going on. Mattresses in one of the bedrooms with 2 twin beds needs replacing. We would stay here again but not in this particular unit.

Family Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall we had a great time. The condo was very roomy. Kitchen was well stocked with supplies. Aside from the beach that felt like it was our own personal area, there was plenty to do inside too with puzzles and board games. The front deck was fantastic. Nothing like sitting and watching the waves after you wake up in the morning. Floors are tile and hardwood and you’re on the beach so expect to feel sand under your feet. The condo is not dirty, just accept no matter how many times you sweep, more sand will be found. Our only items on the wish list would be a mop, a tv in the twin bedroom and faster internet. We had to take turns as more on the WiFi would vastly limit our ability to use it. We rebooted the router but it didn’t help. The washer is on it’s last leg. When switching between intervals of the wash cycle, it makes this horrible grinding noise. I brought it up to Intracoastal when I checked out and they said they’d have someone look at it, so hopefully it’ll be fixed for the next family. Wasn’t an issue for us, I’d just hate for it to break on future guests. For those who have never visited, the garage is clearly marked once you see where it is. It is detached and does not face the unit. It too has supplies, such as chairs, boogie boards etc. The area is very nice and family friendly. Didn’t feel congested and felt very safe. Literally within walking distance of Fort Fisher. We didn’t get to use the pools as they were shut down within a couple of days of reopening on the 13th. Saw they were opening again this last weekend (25th). Only complaint we had is that people will fish in the same area that others are swimming. Given there are no rules about this, it’s just something for guests to be aware and expect. After having said all of the above, we enjoyed our stay so much that we pre reserved the same condo next year.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo was in a good location with great beach access and is right across from the Rec Center. Unfortunately, with the pandemic it was closed, along with the outdoor pool. The views were spectacular and the place was very roomy. The beds were comfortable, along with the furniture. I especially liked the Adirondack chairs on the deck. However, the cleanliness of the condo left a lot to be desired. The floors were very sandy. The dishwasher front was smeared with dirt. The drain in one shower was completely covered with hair and had a gross moldy mat in the shower. That shower curtain was old and gross. The shower curtain in the second bathroom was old too and was ripped off a couple hooks. The master bath has a huge shower, but again the shower curtain is old and the hooks are rusty and hard to use. I do not think the shower curtains were cleaned at all. The garbage area outside was so full of garbage piled up, there was no way to use the receptacles. I did call the office about the garbage and it was taken care of. Though, I do wish someone would have returned my call and told me they would handle it rather than leave me wondering if they got my message. The deck table and chairs were never wiped clean before we arrived. In fact, there was a large black fake eyelash sitting on the side table, greeting me with a wink (gross!). I did kill 2 bugs in the kitchen too. It is just a shame to have such a large place for families to enjoy and it not be sparkling clean, especially in this current pandemic state. There should have been extra care taken, which there clearly was not. Very disappointed! In defense of the office, I never called and complained— just not my style. Instead I just cleaned the unit myself so we could enjoy our vacation.

No Pool

The condo was fine, but I was a little disappointed that no one informed me ahead of time that all of the pools would be closed. This knowledge would have prevented me from dragging my pool floats, to say nothing of my three swimsuits -- I do not go into the ocean -- and taking up space in my trunk.

condo is great, not so much the rental agency

We got in a 5:15, although we could get in by 4. Someone was still cleaning the condo and it still was not cleaned well. Left dirty linen in each bedroom. When I called about it, was told to put it outside the door where it stayed for 2 days. Also tennis courts were cracked and bumpy, so play was marginal. The condo was right on the ocean, we enjoyed the porch and the condo was well equipped

Fun Family Trip

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Pros: Large unit- very spacious and kitchen was very well stocked. Plenty of sitting both inside and on the deck. Deck was wonderful. Location was great. Cons: Beach was a little narrow there but the water was beautiful. Really wished the bedrooms would have had king beds. Secondary bedroom's bed (not the twins) was uncomfortable/filmsy. We had to vacuum and wipe off the tables upon arrival as floors were dirty and table tops gritty. Saw two roaches and roach bait poison set out.. Dryer belt screeched and washer sounded bad as well. Impossible to get out of the recliner as it would not un-recline while you were still in it. Furnishings looked more suited to a mountain cabin but served the need. Living room furnishings and flooring need updating. We love the area.
