Great location for Opryland and downtown activities. Very clean and comfortable. Hosts are very attentive and added extra touches that were nice. Some road noise from the highway behind the property. Oddly the airplanes, which were close, couldn’t be heard in the property. Comfortable beds. Lots of room.

Wonderful place to stay. Bushes in the front need to be trimmed back in my opinion. I use a walker and it was a little difficult to get around them. The inside of the house was clean and inviting with all the little lamps on. Beds were very comfortable. It had a large kitchen, dining, and living room area. The host was very personable and available when needed. Thank you John and Ellen for making our stay in Nashville a great one.

Perfect home away from home for our family of 4. We had our car with us and were easily able to quickly drive to anywhere and anywhere we wanted. (Broadway, The Gulch, Opryland area, Vandy, etc). House was very comfortable and the kitchen was stocked so nicely! I cannot express how lovely the hosts were. Great experience here!

The space was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully put together in a way that made it easy to settle in right away. We are your fun loving hosts at Heidtke House!

I often joke with others that I am one of the 12 born-and-raised Nashvillians that still live in Nashville!

I grew up on a farm in Nashville TN. Raising horses, goats and going to fairs to show our Shorthorn cattle has occupied my earlier years. I am currently managing IT in a software company which has an office in the Tampa Bay Area. When I am not pounding on the keyboard, I involve myself in renovating houses, gardening, cooking, and entertaining friends and family.

My wife Ellen was born in China, a true city girl, her interests are more into fashion & Electrical Engineering. She came to the states to research high-voltage transmission, but I really think she came here to find me and my secret BBQ recipes ☺

We love to travel together and have been to Beijing, Hong Kong, London, Vancouver... Everywhere we go, we try to stay away from hotels, staying with locals is way more interesting.

Nashville is a very southern but also culturally diverse city, it offers amazing food and cultural experiences from across the globe. There are wonderful cultural events (many for free) and restaurants to explore.

As a true local Nashvillean, I would Love to connect you with your special interests. We are available to interact with you as much or as little as you like. We love our city & community, and can’t wait to share it with you and help you have a fantastic visit to Nashville!

What makes this property unique

While our home does have an attached garage, we use it for storage and is therefore unavailable for guest use.

Heidtke House is located near a bustling street with some traffic (thanks to its popular area!). For this reason, you may hear street noise when stepping outside of the house, but it is very quiet inside.

Note #1: No Washer or Dryer at Heidtke House, but there are several good laundry and cleaners within a few blocks - you can drop them off in the morning and they will wash, dry, and fold for your afternoon pickup. Please contact us for details.

Note #2: We host groups all the way up to 10 guests. Our posted rate is our base rate for 4 guests. In order to equitably host groups large and small, we collect an additional $19 per night for each additional guest beyond 4 guests. This is to cover the additional laundry, supplies, utilities, and other expenses for larger groups. Please be sure to accurately enter the number of guests in your group when making your reservation. Thank you!
