This is a beautiful luxury fitted 3 bed, 2 bath condo with large living accommodation, laundry with washer and separate dryer, s/steel appliances, bbq, offers 2 king beds and a queen bed set up. (WE CAN OFFER 1, 2 OR 3 BEDROOM FACILITIES - PLEASE ASK FOR RATES) There is a drinks fridge as well as a large side by side refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, beautiful granite worktops with granite breakfast bar, and all the other amenities for very comfortable living. The furniture is locally hand made hardwood furniture following a modern contemporary feature throughout the condo. There is local art and sculptures located throughout the condo giving it a light and airy feel. Even though we have central air, it is not normally required as we face East/South East, benefiting from the prevailing breezes which flow through the property most days. The spacious outside balcony, accessed via very large glass doors off the living accommodation, offers space for evening drinks, outside dining and just enjoying the sun or the view over the water. There is Wi-Fi in the condo and we loan our guests a local telephone to ensure they are in communication if needed.

It is our aim that once guests arrive at Roatan International Airport, they start their vacation immediately. We will arrange airport transfer to the condo and ( for a $10 tip to the driver) offer a provision stop at the local supermarket on the way home.

It is also possible to arrange for an in-house chef to prepare meals, if booked in advance, for massage treatment by an excellent well qualified therapist either here at the condo or at her house just a few minutes away.

Mangrove Dock offers a private swimming pool for guests, located 20 feet from the water's edge surrounded by tropical plants and flowers. There is security and private parking for guests and residents and we are on-site to help with any requests or problems. We have several other condos always available should you wish to organise a big family gathering, or just arrange for friends to be all at Mangrove Dock Condos at the same time...please just ask.....also we offer specials at different times of the year.

If you wish assistance with booking dive courses, outings, trips, or any other activity we are only too happy to assist.

If you have any special requirements we are happy to try and accommodate those.

We look forward to welcoming you to one of our condos at Mangrove Dock.

About jackie sampson

We are an English family who decided to leave the dreary English weather and start somewhere new for a challenge and a different lifestyle. The development is totally family run and goes at our own pace. We have now finished all three buildings and are excited that we now have a completely new dock. Now everything is finished, it is time to enjoy the results of our is such a wonderful site and a perfect location for a holiday stay..... come and see for yourselves.

jackie sampson purchased this condo in 2006

Why jackie sampson chose West End

We are the developers of this resort and have so many people asking for rental accommodation from us that we decided to start to rent units due to the fact that there are no other units like ours. They have comfort, luxury, some waterfront some only 80 feet from the water and so very close to the hubbub of West End....just a perfect location for holidays.

What makes this condo unique

We are built facing east and enjoy the virtually constant prevailing breezes, which are very important when staying in the tropics. Our location is perfect as we are so close too all amenities, yet away from the noise etc. of the night a quiet residential location.

A great first experience!

  • 5 of 5

Having some of the family staying in the penthouse, we stayed in the middle condo, it was fantastic. The penthouse has wonderful views but this one doesn’t disappoint with views from the balcony over the pool and garden and a wonderful cooling breeze from across Mangrove Bight. We would sit and relax on the balcony, the tropical plants and coconut trees around gave us a feeling of being in the upper canopy, we spent a lot of time here watching the geckos and birds and also the huge pelicans swooping overhead. The pool would be my first call in the morning before breakfast, lovely and clear the gardens around well tended. During our stay we ate in so many different places but always after to a visit to Sundowners, a fabulous cocktail bar. I also swam with Dolphins, what a fantastic experience, just 5 minutes away. If you go to Roatan you should stay here at Mangrove Dock….definitely 5 stars are not enough!

Owner's Response: As we have a number of condos available, we often have large family groups staying and if they have the penthouse as one of a group of condos, everyone tends to congregate for sundowners and to star gaze on the roof....what a magnificent little light pollution....such a wonderful atmosphere. It is possible to see the sunrise and also the sunset from this penthouse and they are just magnificent. Then again, to just laze around on the loungers up in the sunshine, so private.....what more could one ask. These guests were a joy to have here and we hope to see many of them back again very soon. You were all great guests, thank you.

Luxury Pictures, nice looking condo and spacious, however like a new home, once you move in you see the issues..Location was great, walking distance to West End. Road to condo is dirt, and when it rained, there was no way around it..Mud tracked into condo stairwell which was hard to keep off our shoes and tracked into our condo..Condo staircase was not maintained during out stay. I had swept the staircase twice. The stairwell at night is pitch black, dangerous walking down tiled staircase in the dark. Sensor lights are delayed and only lite up when you were standing under them. Management said there was nothing they can do about the lighting..1st night had a cold shower, heat tank was turned off..Master shower does not maintain water temp and continually shuts off during shower. Ceiling fans have clicking sound so made it hard to sleep if you are not using the air. We had stained and dirty bed sheets, oven mitts and pot holder with dried food on them. Also a dirty towel folded on our towel rack and was told by management it wasn't suppose to be there it was actually staff cleaning rag.. really..?

ANTS,, ants and more ants..I understand the climate and insects, however, the food ants on the counter were not controllable..Hard to prep meals..We also had a red ant infestation in front bedroom..Just before bed when we opened the window there were hundreds of ants that came crawling out..Had to spray raid twice that evening, therefore unable to use that room to sleep and sprayed raid again the following morning..Management said there was nothing they can do about ants as it's part of the climate..! Unacceptable answer. We felt management was apathetic and didn't care about the issues, asked for feedback but addrssed non of the above. We were robbed at 10am Christmas Day while our daughter was in the condo..Intruder walked in and took electronics. PLEASE lock your doors 24/7. We feel we over paid for this 2nd floor unit at the Mangrove.

Owner's Response: Cheryl, Thanks for your feedback, and here some of our comments. You are totally right about the muddy road leading to the condos. It has been a long and extreme rainy season and unfortunately there is not much there can be done till we are back in the dry season. This is not a private road of Mangrove Dock but a public road to other hotels and residential houses. So improvement have to be discussed with Municipal, other home and business owners. We discussed the lights in the stairway which stay on for over 1 minute and never have been a problem for previous renters. Of course some people need more time and like them to stay on whole night, so we told you we would look into that option. As said AT THAT MOMENT there was not much we could do about it, overall it was during the Holidays. We will tell the care taker to take more attention to the stairways so they keep clean. The day you arrived there was a quick change over so you could get into the condo as soon as you arrived and didn’t have to wait till after 3.00 pm. You are right, this is no excuse that there was a dirty rag laying around and our excuses for this. At check in, we took one of you into the laundry room, where we explained the hot water heater, gas tank and water dispenser, so a cold shower wouldn’t have been necessary if paid attention to our briefing. It is the first time we hear that the Master shower shuts off all the time and we would have liked it if you told us when there so we maybe could have solved that issue. We also told you the island is pretty safe but at all times you have to use common sense and don’t show valuables and leave smart phones laying around unattended. Leaving the doors open or unlocked was not our recommendation. We felt very sorry that you had somebody walking in and took your phones, were there within 15 minutes and had even the police out within the hour so we think we did all we could to address the situation. About the ant situation, there is not much you can do besides keep your food in containers or fridge and keep the counter tops clean. When living in the Tropics, you have to deal with all kinds of insects and bugs. We thank you for you feedback and will look into improvements. Sorry you feel you made the wrong choice and payed to much for your stay, maybe you will feel better in an all inclusive resort with 24/7 front desk Regards, Ton and Zilla Property managers

What a terrific place to bask in the sun for a much needed change from cold northern winters, complete with upscale, first-world accommodations and a definitionally laid-back small caribbean island, situated right ON the world's second-largest barrier reef -- NOT hours away by boat!

Whether wishing to snorkel, dive, feed the sharks, catch elusive bone-fish or marlin (well, September for that!) parasail, or just to glimpse the fabled 'Green Flash' against the most dramatic of purple/orange skies at dusk, one will be hard-pressed to find a more idyllic spot to do it in.

While I shared this experience with old friends, I also made new ones while there, and am pleased to recommend this adventure unequivocally!

Beautiful & Relaxing!!!

  • 5 of 5

Oh my, oh my where do I begin. This condo is BEAUTIFUL, well decorated, spacious and has everything anyone could be looking for. This was not our first time staying at Mangrove Dock but we were honoured to be the first renters of the newly finished middle condo in Egret House. We find the location to be just right…not too far from anything but yet far enough to never be bother with foot traffic, cars & noise.

After being picked up at the airport our first stop is for groceries at Eldon’s, we find the pricing comparable to what we are paying here in Ontario. There are always a few things left in the condo from the owner like, dish soap, toilet paper, garbage bags, hand and body soap and from previous renters things like spices, salt/pepper, bit of oil, maybe some paper towels, just enough to get you going.

We enjoy the quietness of the condo…it is not party central. We sat on our balcony enjoying the breeze, sat on the dock a few times and also sat around enjoying the pool area. On a few of the days we didn’t feel like doing anything so we sat in the condo and watched some TV and a few of the movies that are left there for you to enjoy.

For our 6 weeks there we found our electricity costs very reasonable…we ran the AC more than half the time (husband likes it very cool), TV was on most days for several hours and of course lights, fans, etc running and our total cost was just under $300.

We made about ½ our meals in the fully equipped kitchen and ate out the rest.

We dove with Sun Divers just 5 minutes away…great dive shop, very friendly & attentive to customer service. They dive in small groups so you are never more than 6 people on a dive.

I would recommend this condo to anyone, even those with some mobility issues (like me) as it is only one flight up. It’s great for families as you get to be together yet not one on top of the other. Or just a group of friends or 3 couples.

The owner Jackie is a sweetheart to deal with. She is never too busy to stop for a chat, never gets annoyed with question after question and whenever you need a hand she is always right there.

Can’t wait to find out about husbands holidays for 2017 and get Mangrove Dock booked again.
