Located in Shoreline Woods, one mile from the beach, we offer a comfortable cottage surrounded by trees in a quiet waterway community. The house is on the mainland; to gain access to the beach, there is a PAY TO PARK public parking area next to the pier and a larger "pay-to-park" lot beside it. Once your toes hit the sand, you can stroll the wide beach, walk to the Kindred Spirits Mailbox, fish from the pier or just sit, relax and enjoy the ocean breeze.

Dogs less than 20 pounds and house-trained are welcome for a nominal pet fee of $100. No smoking or vaping is allowed in the cottage. There is no maid or linen service; we ask you to provide your own bed linens, towels and wash cloths. All cleaning supplies are provided so that you can perform the exit cleaning, which is part of keeping rates reasonable. The cottage has an energy saving HVAC system; the cooling system low is 72 degrees and the heating system high is 76 degrees. Ceiling fans and blankets are present to help with any temperature extremes.

The cottage features 3 bedrooms (1 king bed, 1 queen bed and 2 twin beds; plus, a queen sleeper sofa) and 2 full bathrooms. There is a renovated kitchen with granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances, an extended countertop with two stools, and a washer / dryer. The great room has a cathedral ceiling and Smart TV and is open to the dining room featuring a table and 6 chairs. The backyard has a deck with gas grill and a fenced in patio area, with additional seating and two chaise lounge chairs. Deck boxes are filled with beach chairs, umbrellas, body boards, beach toys and sand buckets. Perhaps the best part of the cottage is the screened-in front porch; great for enjoying an early morning breakfast, an afternoon happy hour or listening to the rain at midnight.

The cottage is the perfect location to serve as home base for excursions to Calabash (the Seafood Capital of the World), historic Southport, neighboring beaches in NC and SC (Ocean Isle, Emerald Isle, Holden Beach, Cherry Grove, North Myrtle Beach), dozens of golf courses, the planetarium, and a multitude of specialty shops and restaurants. There are also two bicycles if you just want to cruise around the neighborhood.

The Coastal Cottage is a family-owned second home that we hope our guests will enjoy. We are not a rental agency or a property management company. We are not currently offering monthly rentals with reservations limited to no more than two weeks. We ask that guests be married, accompanied by a parent or over 25 years old. We want you to have an amazing time on your visit to Sunset and will be happy to make recommendations if asked.
