La villa de bungalows de 2 dormitorios se encuentra en una maravillosa ubicación en la ladera, a pocos pasos del histórico pueblo de Plaka (ver más detalles). La propiedad cuenta con impresionantes vistas de la Bahía de Souda y las Montañas Blancas. Debido a lo que esta encantadora área tiene para ofrecer, este es un refugio de vacaciones ideal tanto para parejas como para familias. La Villa también está rodeada de hermosos jardines, acorde con el área local. El techo de la villa, al que se accede por una escalera lateral, es una terraza ideal para tomar el sol. Se proporcionan tumbonas, etc. ¡Todos los balcones ofrecen una vista de la Bahía de Souda, las Montañas Blancas o ambas! Si conduce, hay un aparcamiento privado fuera de la villa, que está cerrado. Las áreas exteriores de la casa tienen iluminación externa, aunque es aconsejable tomar una antorcha ya que las carreteras locales pueden ser desiguales. ¡Puede esperar unas vacaciones divertidas y relajantes al sol!

Villa Annie review July 2019 for a family of 5, including my 85 year old mum!

A great villa base for a family holiday with really flexible ‘socialising’ accommodation. The 3rd bed (sofa-bed) in the main open plan kitchen- living area ‘works’ as it’s a decent size but even with the air-con it was a challenge to get it cool enough to sleep ( we did however have temperatures up to 37 degrees). The pool is fab and actually relatively private even though shared with two other villas as everyone respects each other’s space. The best aspect of the villa is the roof terrace where the views of Souda Bay and the White Mountains are magnificent. The local tavernas to eat in Plaka are all great. Creten food is generally fab!

Plaka’s little gem

From the very first time we opened the doors following a night time arrival, we were greeted with stunning views of the white mountains to one side and the bay to the other side. Sit on the roof and you will just enjoy. Beautiful location, peaceful and quiet, and yet just 10 minutes away from the main square. The hill can be quite a challenge for the legs and indeed the car, but we quite enjoyed the keep fit part! Easy to get around and visit some great sights around Western Crete, and also some not so well known places and villages. Just explore and be prepared to be amazed. The owner was excellent and kept us fully informed prior to our trip and was always on hand during our stay. If you like a bit of traditional Greece with a little more you won’t be disappointed with Annie’s Villa.

Nice week in Plaka

Got so lucky to find this house available!! Have been in crete with our 8-year old son. Booked just some days before check-in!! Pool is fantastic (shared with 2 other houses- nice neighbours -no party people!!!) Communication with Annie uncomplicated and funny!!! Will be back again in 2020...

Wonderful views, lovely pool and gardene

First time in Crete and this was a great introduction. Fantastic views and sunsets, well equipped and comfortable villa and well placed for trips out. Went to the south coast of the island twice, good road and some nice villages. Loutro and Samaria Gorge were great as were the ruins in Aptera. Aptera Taverna not to be missed for authentic Cretan food. Chania was charming and full of character. Mhad a special m al at Taman restaurant in the back streets. Plaka village and restaurants were fine with lots of fellow Brits enjoying the footie. Annie very helpful with advice and suggestions. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Beau logement, belle piscine mais une climation qui ne fonctionnait pas dans la pièce principale, nous avons donc beaucoup souffert de la chaleur. Plus d'eau le dernier jour car nous avions vidé la cuve qui se remplie la nuit. Donc pas de douche. Il manquait aussi un lave vaisselle et un sèche cheveux qui sont pourtant indiqués dans la liste des équipements. Sinon le reste était très bien.

Stunning, peaceful and we'll be back

The pictures do not do the views justice. It really is incredible. The pool and grounds are fabulous, it is well equipped. It was much better than we imagined. The central square at Plaka is lovely, not touristy and has a good selection of tavernas, cafes and 2 shops. One shop the smaller one gets their produce fresh from Chania everyday,the larger one has a cheese and meat counter. To get to the square-at the bottom of the hill, go left, then first right and wind through gorgeous Greek houses to the central square. It is only 5-7 minutes walk and no problems. Some of the restaurants are not in the central square but overlooking the sea, the Sunset (on the road on the way into Almerida) and the Emerald (down a road by the Sunset). Almerida beach is great, we have older kids, who love diving off the rocks etc but if you have young kids to the left is a lovely area that is enclosed by rocks and very safe. The town has lots of restaurants and things to do, with a variety of excursions, boat trips and activities such as canoeing. On the way into Almerida on your left there is a butcher than does great meat for the bbq. We had a car and would recommend it unless all you want to do is relax in and around Plaka, you can walk to Almerida but I would not recommend the return trip uphill in the heat. Another 'up' of having a car is that you can see around the area which is very beautiful. We had a 2 cloudy days, so looked on the Islands weather forecast and got the sun in Balos lagoon and the next day a Falasarna, both are stunning.Boat trips leave from Georgioupilis that look great and on the way there are some very beautiful Greek villages to explore. Aptera is very interesting and Chania is beautiful. What I really enjoyed about this area is that it is not 'tacky', it is typically Greek and not 'touristy'. It has been developed well with no high rise hotels, so it is has style and taster and remains beautiful. Almerida is more developed but even that has no massive overpowering hotels and has charm. Annie has been very helpful answering all questions promptly and even whilst we were there replied very quickly (sorry if I was a pain Annie). Another recommendation I have is that my 17 and 18 year old came with us after a week at Annies we dropped them back at Chania then we did a tour of South and East of Crete, this worked brilliantly. In summary this was one of my top holidays and even though I say I don't return to places, I would definitely come back.

Fantastic villa! Perfect for our family

This is a great villa. It was just as the description said. It was well presented, adequately supplied with equipment, had a great pool and was clean and well maintained. The location was great being close to nearby beaches and within a short but hilly walk to the local village Tabernas. I would have no problem in recommending this villa to any of my friends or family and would be very happy to return again. Overall we had probably the best family holiday ever. A big thank you to Annie from us all!

Fabulous, relaxing break!

We had a very chilled out stay for a week. The weather was fantastic, the villa spot on and the best bit was the glorious pool!!!! I was in it a lot! We were really comfortable with everything in the villa. The air conditioning was a godsend! We enjoyed gin and tonics sitting on the roof area and made great use of the restaurants and bars in the evening, especially Elpis! Loved it!!!!! :-)

Annies Villa, Plaka - Crete

Finding the property was quite difficult, getting to the village following the directions was ok it was from there on. I wouldn't have like to try and find it at night! The villa was everything we hoped it would be, great for a family with young children. Walking into the village at night was easy and quick (though steep) as was the walk further down to the Town. Lots of great places to eat and socialise, the local residents were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed exploring the areas villages and Towns then returning to the villa early afternoon to make the mst of the pool. The pool was immaculate as was the surrounding area. The family next door were friendly and accommodating. we loved sitting on the roof terrace early on in the evening to watch the sun setting. the views are quite amazing, having a full view of the mountains and coast. The only negative was, it was a shame the table wasnt usable for a meal due to the missing glass top or better lighting as we would have liked to eat a meal or two up there in the evenings. We would reccommend this property, we had a great time there.

Thank you for an amazing review. So sorry about the table, my own son broke it last year and we were under the impression the glass had been replaced. It won't help you this year, but we are out this week and I will ensure that it is sorted. I will also review the lighting, and plan to put some lights on the pergola. Whilst out, I also plan to add the Villa to google maps, which will help people with that facility. I will also review directions and add pictures if necessary to help. Once again, many thanks. Holiday in Crete

Annie's Villa provided us with everything we needed for a lovely holiday. The pool and the area around it were ideal, we could easily relax on the sunbeds whilst keeping an eye on the children in the pool. The privacy of the area was excellent and I particularly liked the fact we could close the gate to prevent the children from leaving the Villa Garden. The Villa was very clean and provided everything we needed although we didn't use the kitchen very much as the Tavernas in Plaka were excellent! The Roof Terrace on the Villa was such a suntrap and gave us a lovely view of the Bay. We spent a great deal of time on the beach in Almerida but also visited the surrounding areas by hiring a car locally for a couple of days, we found getting to new places very quick and easy, we particularly liked Georgopolis for the beach and the public Lido. All in all a fantastic break and we will return.

Beautiful views

Spent 2 weeks at the villa and it was lovely. Very clean and plenty of cooking utensils etc. The roof terrace is beautiful and is where we spent most of our time. It is a nice walk down into Almerida but we didn't attempt to walk back up those hills! Plaka is a small village but you can get most of what you need there. The hill from Plaka back to the villa is a daunting prospect. Even the taxi driver crossed himself before attempting it. We climbed it most days but it does seem to get steeper every time :) it is worth it for the views though. A big bonus for me was not getting any mosquito bites at all here. First time that has happened in 17 years of holidaying in Greece! We didn't get any days where there wasn't somebody round the pool so we didn't use it. All in all, nice villa in a lovely little village with enough shops and tavernas in walking distance and a pleasant walk down to Almerida for the beach, shopping or to get the bus to Chania. Oh, and Annie is lovely, sorting out getting something we forgot to bring back and arranging for it to be collected.

We love Crete and in 2003 took the plunge to buy this property. The build was completed in June '04 and we went out with our 7 wk old son to take ownership of it. We have been coming out at least once every year since then. We didn't rent it out for a number of years as we wanted to get EOT. We take any feedback given seriously, and have updated the villa as guests have suggested. This year we are particularly pleased with how it looks and the facilities it offers. The town square (well triangle) of Plaka is a few minutes walk away and the centre was used for filming part of Fiddlers on the Roof, it is a wonderful blend of old and new and still retains traditional Cretan character. Almerida and Kalyves are also close by for the beach, and cool tavernas and bars. Heaven!

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

The views from this property are amazing, from the front balcony you look over the beautiful blue sea, and to the left of the property are the wonderful white mountains, snow capped, depending on the time of year. So whichever preference you can have both sea and mountain views. We fell in love with the location too, close enough to walk to the wonderful Plaka "square", and its bars and restaurants, but also far enough away to have some privacy.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Although the property is a bungalow, the whole of the roof is tiled - accessed via some stairs to the right of the property, and it is a perfect sun trap. We put a pergola and furniture up there too, and solar lights to enjoy in the evening. The pool area is just beautiful too, as are the landscaped gardens. Even in the hot sun, as it is in Pano Plaka (upper) there is generally a lovely breeze to cool you down (alhough the Villa itself does have air con).
