Hamptons - great stay

Lovely large comfortable, clean, family oriented house, situated in a quiet street. Close to lots of attractions and beach. Had a great stay.

Yearly Family Event

Over all we had a good experience. The house is homely, beautifully decorated, there is easy access to the bus service and is in a quiet neighborhood. However, we suspected there might be mould in the downstairs bathroom at the entrance. My daughter used the bathroom when we got there and her allergy started. She had to double up on allergy pills the entire time. Thank you From The Smiths October 2022

Hi Beverley Thank you for your review and we are so pleased that you love the house, and that it worked well as the base for your event. I have conducted a thorough check of the downstairs cloakroom, which was only recently refitted, and there is categorically no mould or anything similar. I suspect that your transatlantic flights, layovers in foreign countries and change of environment must have set off her allergies. I am getting the damage caused by your son to the bed repaired, so this will be fine for future guests. Thank you once again for staying at the Hamptons. Many thanks

The Hamptons.

Lovely property. Cleaning needed attention especially in the kitchen. On arrival dish washer was still filled with dirty plates.grill pan was covered in grease. All kitchen units under neath were very greasy. Had to clean them myself. Getting onto WiFi was not clear writing difficult to Read. Bed mattress were very hard it was not a good night's sleep for 4of the Adults. On saying all of that we had a good holiday. But attention to detail was lacking. Carole.

Dear Carole Thank you for your review. Firstly I would like to apologise for the points you have mentioned. Our housekeepers are normally extremely efficient, and I am embarrassed to even read that things were missed ahead of your arrival. I have reported the issues to the cleaning company to ensure we never have similar issues again. Beds - we actually replaced all of the mattresses over the past 18 months. It is always difficult to please every guest, as some guests like soft mattresses, whilst others prefer firm. We opted for medium-firm so those with back issues wouldn't struggle when staying, and it seemed like safe middle ground. I am happy that you had a good holiday and I really hope we will be able to welcome you back in the future. Kindest regards and apologies once again. Andy

The owner was out of the country and was probably unaware of the following issues. I checked in on September 2025. The house is beautiful but I had issues with the cleaning company. I traveled over 3,500 miles and then an additional 7 hours from the airport to Torquay. When I arrived in Torquay I had to make an express order from a local store in order to get a simple cup of tea. There was no welcome package. A simple bottle of milk and perhaps a couple of tea bags would have been appreciated. The house was nice but the cleanliness was subpar. The information package stated that you have to leave the place as you found it, but I found the appliances and cookware to be very dirty and had to clean before I could use these items. I left this place better than I found it, yet the cleaner informed the owner that I left it filthy! This was very upsetting to me as this was untrue. I was planning on rebooking for next year but obviously will not now. I am also a business owner and I feel this cleaner will lose the owner a lot of business. She was also rude. The only issues other than the cleanliness was that it rained almost the whole week, there were no umbrellas or canopies outside so I had to search for a waterproof mat being that shoes had to be removed however everyone's shoes got soaked, so I moved the mat inside the door which caused a pile up in the sitting area as we also had to take in about 20 outdoor cushions. A waterproof outdoor box would have helped. Thank you.

Family Holiday 2022

No problems - paid for luxurious holiday home and was not disappointed. Everything was as we expected and more. Location was great and we enjoyed a number of different areas that we were within walking distance.

Family Holiday

We are a family of 7, 4 adults and 3 children aged 7, 6 and 4 and stayed at The Hamptoms for a week. The house is amazing and everything is just as depicted in the photos and reviews. It is about 20 minutes walk to Torquay which is fine going downhill, not so fine going back up, but buses run every half hour for those that can't face it!! The house has everything we needed for our family, the chi.dren were very impressed they had a television in each room! We would definitely return again.

Great Torquay Stay

We had a wondeful stay at The Hamptons, the house was really well suited to 2 families thanks to the 3 floors so we could have a upstairs floor each. Bedrooms are all good sizes, but the mattresses need replacing on most beds, sadly all 4 adults had poor nights sleep due to this. Majority of expected facilites/utensils were provided, quite a bit removed due to covid which would have been better to know about prior to our stay and a last minute change to check in/out times should have also been communicated earlier, especially with toddlers to work around. Location brilliant, although the hills are tough to run up! 15-20 min walk into town and beaches walkable. Thanks for a great stay!

Lovely property

Lovely property situated in good position for visiting lots of the local attractions. Property is well equipped, with lots of extras. A spare loo roll and a dishwasher tablet or two would have been appreciated but overall we would recommend a stay at the Hamptons.
