About this property
Lakefront Maine Cabin - Panoramic Katahdin View’s - Rustic Luxury
Welcome to your northern Maine lakefront escape, where rustic luxury meets panoramic mountain and water views on the shores of the Pemadumcook Chain of Lakes. Designed for families, friends, and lifelong memories, this spacious cabin offers the perfect balance of comfort, adventure, and the timeless beauty & serenity of Maine’s North Woods.
Wake each morning to sweeping views of Mt. Katahdin reflected across the water, then enjoy coffee from the dock as loons call across the lake and our local family of Bald Eagles share their morning catch. Inside, warm wood finishes, comfortable gathering spaces, and a cozy interior create an inviting atmosphere after a day spent exploring the vast wilderness region.
Adventure begins right outside your door. Cast a line from the private dock for bass, perch, pickerel and other warm-water fish or launch a boat and explore more than ten miles of connected waterways to chase salmon and lake trout in deeper areas throughout the Pemadumcook Chain of Lakes. Numerous rivers and streams throughout the region provide even more fishing opportunities for anglers of every skill level.
For hikers, the cabin serves as an ideal base camp for some of Maine’s most iconic destinations. Explore the trails of Baxter State Park, discover the rugged beauty National Monument, or venture to Gulf Hagas—often called the “Grand Canyon of the North”—where waterfalls, gorges, and dramatic scenery await. Whether you’re looking for a leisurely nature walk or a challenging summit hike, the region offers trails for every experience level.
Adventure seekers will find no shortage of excitement. Experience Class V whitewater rafting on the Penobscot River beneath the shadow of Mt. Katahdin, rent a side-by-side ATV and access hundreds of miles of interconnected trail systems, or arrange a floatplane excursion directly from the cabin’s private dock. Scenic flights can take you above Maine’s endless forests, lakes, and mountains—or even transport you to lunch on Moosehead Lake or other remote destinations accessible only by air.
Nature lovers will appreciate the abundance of wildlife and seasonal treasures. Be sure to bring your camera if you are a nature photography enthusiast! Depending on the time of year, guests can forage for wild blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, and a variety of edible mushrooms throughout the surrounding forests. Keep an eye out for moose, bald eagles, and other native wildlife that call this remarkable region home.
As evening arrives, slow the pace and embrace the tranquility of lake life. Explore our quiet cove and nearby islands by canoe or kayak (available onsite), jump in and cool off with a swim, relax in the hammock overlooking the lake, gather around the picnic table for a traditional Maine lobster boil, or enjoy a fire in the pit at waters edge as the sun sets behind the mountains.
When darkness falls, the experience becomes truly unforgettable. Located near Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument—one of the few officially designated International Dark Sky regions in the United States—the area offers exceptional stargazing opportunities. From the dock, fire pit or hammock, enjoy dazzling views of the Milky Way, countless constellations, meteor showers, and, on fortunate nights, the magical display of the Aurora Borealis dancing across the northern sky.
Step back inside and gather with family and friends in the living room. Watch a favorite movie, share stories, or challenge one another to board games beside the warmth of the stone fireplace. For those seeking a quieter end to the day, curl up with a good book in a comfortable chair or retreat to a cozy bedroom, where the peaceful sounds of the lake and surrounding forest provide the perfect backdrop for a restful night’s sleep.
Whether you’re seeking outdoor adventure, family connection, world-class stargazing, or simply a peaceful place to unwind on the water, this northern Maine cabin offers an authentic lakeside summer experience you’ll remember long after your stay ends. We look forward to sharing our multigenerational family cabin with you and hearing about memories made!

About the host
Hosted by Kristi Perrow
My husband grew up here from birth, the original log cabin built by his family in the 1930's before there was even a road access. We have owned it as a married couple since '76 but have upgraded and tripled it in size since then, when it had no indoor plumbing or running water! Every summer since then has been spent enjoying the vast wonders of nature in the central Highlands of Maine, raising our children on the water and in the woods. Ernie was a pilot in the Air Force, antique car and wooden boat enthusiast . I have been an Economic Development Director in Maine, and Marketing Director of the New Hampshire State Port Authority and its' Foreign Trade Zones. Currently, we spend winters in Naples, Florida where I am a Real Estate Broker.
