About the host
Hosted by Kristi Perrow
The owner grew up here from birth, and the cabin has been here sine the 1930's. We have owned it as a married couple since '76 but have upgraded and tripled it in size since then, when it had no indoor plumbing or running water. Every summer since then have spent enjoying the vast wonders of nature in the central Highlands of Maine, raising our children on the water and in the woods. Ernie was a military pilot, was and is an antique car and wooden boat enthusiast.
We have owned and operated many businesses. I have been an Economic Development Director in Maine, and Marketing Director of the New Hampshire State Port Authority and its' Foreign Trade Zones. Currently, I spend winters in Naples, Florida where I am a Real Estate Broker. Our son water is 37 ,single and an everything water lover. Our daughter Sharney, 44, learned her trade from white water rafting at the Penobscot River here in the area, then Parachuting (also here) and had worked herself into being a world traveler organizing parachute and wing suit events, and opening new drop zones. she is now working in a hospital in the emergency room winters in Naples. She will probably be your contact person when you get here At Camp because she will stay nearby. She knows the territory so any questions can be directed to her. So as you can see, our summer home is a huge part of our lives, Now WE want to travel a little, so we are going to share it with you. We have generations of personal things there, so only respectful renters are encouraged to apply.

Why they chose this property
This is where my husband grew up. It's the family tradition, every summer for 75 years! There isn't a more diverse place in Maine, with Baxter State Park, and Katahdin Woods and Waters, which is America's newest National Park. Mt. Katahdin, Maine's highest mountain is our view and is also the beginning or the terminus of the Appalachian Trail. Moose and Eagles abound. White water rafting, swimming, parachuting, hiking, painting, relaxing, writing, canoeing and kayaking, traveling to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, are just some things to do. Peace and quiet are also an option! This camp is available for purchase but not listed.
What makes this property unique
Fly in to Bangor Maine International Airport, rent a car and drive one hour North to Medway exit, go West through East Millinocket (very small) and Millinocket , then go on Route 11 towards Brownville. Approx 5 miles from Millinocket. Total time from the Airport about 1:30.
