Keauhou Punahele complex is located in the town of Keauhou on the Kailua-Kona side of the Big Island. It is located with lava/mountains on one side and overlooking golf course and gorgeous ocean view on the other. It is a beautifully landscaped property with a pool, hot tub and large outdoor covered long house.

Beautiful and quiet condo

The condo was beautiful and quiet. The neighbors were amazing! We would definitely rent the condo again. The owners reached out to us a couple of times to make sure we had everything we needed. The kitchen was well stocked (we cooked due to family with celiac) and it had tons of seasonings which was great. The only thing it lacked was a hand mixer.

We, 6 people really enjoyed our Christmas holiday in this lovely condo, the owner's quick response and follow up really makes our stay smooth. The location is in the central of Kona, not far from the shopping center, not far from the beach and airport. The lanai has great view , exactly same as the owner's photo showed. Actually, the real view is even better. The owner provided all the supplies- kitchen supplies, beach toys/ towels/blankets, BBQ griller , even the portable cooler and umbrella. The owner also provided books, board games I will say this is the most equipped condo that I have ever rented. I would love to come back again !

La proprietà si trova a pochi km dalla città di Kona, immersa nel verde e nella tranquillità assoluta. La casa è spaziosa e ben divisa. All'interno ci sono tutte le comodità che la gentilissima proprietaria mette a disposizione, non manca proprio nulla. Il terrazzo è il luogo che preferisco, fare colazione con le prime luci dell'alba e godere dei colori del paesaggio. Oppure cenare guardando il sole tramontare sul mare.... Che dire. Soggiorno perfetto.

Great condo in a good location.

We (family + 1) stayed in this condo for 2 weeks in mid-July and had a great time - kids each got their own bedroom, my 13 year old loved the loft with its dedicated bathroom. Really nice lanai with a beautiful view of the ocean and the golf course. It is pretty centrally located if you have a car - Kona is 10 min away and there is a beach within a 10 min walk as well. The kitchen is pretty well stocked as well with plenty of pots and pans and accessories - we made breakfast every day and cooked a few dinners as well with no problem. The owners were responsive and quick to fix any issues - our screen door wasn't closing right and they got a handyman out the same day to fix it. There is some beach equipment there - chairs, some flippers, beach towels, etc - we bought snorkel gear at costco which was almost the same price as renting it. There is a Longs Drugs and supermarket within a 3-5 min drive as well, but do note that most stores and restaurants close down around 9pm, and almost nothing is open after 11. The community pool and hot tub are nice, but they are kind of strict on no toys in the pool and no excessive noise - if you are looking for a party condo this is not the place, def more towards quiet relaxing time (which was fine with us). The only thing that bugged us is once a week the workers use gas powered leaf blowers at 8am, and since you have to have the windows open to cool down it will wake everyone up, but it just happened a few times. The 2 bedrooms have AC but we only used them a few times when it got really hot, most of the time ceiling and vertical fans were able to keep everyone cool enough. All in all a great condo to rent, esp if you have older kids that want their own bedrooms. Definitely recommended!

What a gem! Perfect for family or group!

We arrived in the night and found our reserved parking spot (so convenient) got to the door and when we opened we were treated to a property even more beautiful than the pictures suggested. The rooms are big, the bathrooms are nice (especially having three in Hawaii!) This review is going to be long, but it’s meant to really give you confidence in booking. Kitchen - very well Stocked with equipment, very good appliances and cookware. Living room, you won’t spend much time here because hey it’s paradise, but ample comfy seating and a great tv. Lanai - balcony - huge. View of the ocean, pool, golf course and so many trees. Done out here as much as you can on big table. The grill works good, so use it to keep the heat out of the house and enjoy the view while cooking. Bedrooms - master is lovely with access to lanai, high ceiling like the living room and attached bath with sliding door for toilet and shower privacy. The second bedroom is huge and has a portable air conditioner which you don’t need to turn lower than 75 as it is very efficient for this room. The second bath is right outside this room and also the main bath for daily usage. It houses full sized washer and dryer as well, so pack lighter than you would for an overpriced hotel and enjoy this amazing amenity. Loft - send your kids up here (spiral stair case ) for twin beds and a little bath. They slept like rocks up there :-). I will note, you don’t want little kids - under 8/9 up here, to much risk for falling on the stairs. Otherwise it’s a rare treat to have so many REAL beds for such a rental. They included four chairs and some beach mats for usage as well as plenty of towels. There are two small but very functional umbrellas as well. As for stuff to do, research in advance and early booking is the way. Luaus can get booked up, we recommend the Hilton (40 minute drive north) My daughter took surfing lessons at Kona surf shop two miles north and it was a lifetime memory. They got her up on the first try! The owners/managers are so responsive and wonderful. We are coming back again and I hope this review helps you make a good decision. Stay here :-)

Beautiful property not far from Kona downtown and nice beaches.

This property is very clean and well-maintained. The kitchen is well-equipped, bedrooms are very cozy and the balcony is spacious, we enjoyed watching some amazing sunsets while having dinner on the balcony. Pretty convenient location, close the the shopping plaza and beautiful Magic San Beach.

Excellent condo / house with a view

This condo/ house was better than the pictures- very unusual for us from that point of view. Usually we rent places where pictures are better :) Good hosts, very responsive. Great location and nice views. Gentle breeze flowing everyday - turn on the fan and life is good…. Very nice vacation with family with plenty of room for everyone and 3 full baths. There were some cockroaches and mosquitoes but that comes with being in tropical climates like Hawaii and other places.

Home away from home

My family of four loved it here! It was nice that everyone had their own space. It was immaculate and so fully stocked with everything you could ever need. We enjoyed all of our meals on the lanai with fantastic views. This was awesome being on the 3rd floor with all the vaulted ceilings. There's restaurants and groceries near. Downtown was a beautiful 15-20 min drive. This property is well maintained, and very peaceful. We enjoyed walking to the farmers market outside of the Sheraton on Wed's. Alyson was great to communicate with and very helpful. I miss this great place already!!

Lots of stairs, too hot, lovely view

The condo is up 24 steps, no elevator. We arrived at 3:45 to someone else’s car in the parking space. The lanai view is very nice and was the only place where it was cool. Inside the condo was too hot for us to sleep without the fans on. The queen bed felt like sleeping in a baseball mitt (no support). The king bed was supportive but had sheets that did not fit properly and every night we woke up and had to remake the bed to get rid of the balled up sheets that came undone in the corners. Most disturbing was the fact that we paid a lot for “cleaning” and yet we had to hand wash every dish, flatware and cup we used because they were visibly dirty. We put our dishes into the dishwasher, washed them and then only used dishes out of the dishwasher because we knew they were clean. I took pictures of the large stain of some liquid that spilled in the freezer drawer and a picture of the visible grime around the knob on a kitchen cabinet. I was unable to get a clear picture of the grease film on other Kitchen surfaces. The upstairs area with two twin beds had no cross breeze and was stuffy so we were glad our friend, who was going to sleep up there, didn’t make it. We all struggled with sleeping in the heat but upstairs was the hottest. The blender I specifically asked about was broken. The large umbrella for the beach was missing and the boogie board left for us to use was broken. After calling Alyson, an umbrella and boogie board were left in the apartment while we were gone. She offered to have a contractor come by and fix the broken disposal but we declined as we did not want someone in the condo again while we were gone. My biggest problem was we paid a very large cleaning fee and when it was very obvious that the condo was not clean (pictures sent to confirm) and that we were obliged to clean ourselves, we were not offered a refund of any amount. Conclude: Pros: lanai is comfortable, the view is lovely, saw very few live roaches so traps and spray is working. Cons: beds are uncomfortable, condo is very hot, more deep cleaning needed. Suggestion: A hand-held shower head should be installed in one of the showers.

Pros: Awesome views, great floor plan, very lush and green, many ameneties in the condo, pool is within walking distance. Loved the birds chirping throughout the day and specially in the morning. Very quiet and respectful neighbors. A shopping center and two beaches are nearby. Cons: Not many...only two that I can think of is that you have to walk up the stairs to get to the front entrance door and that the condo is about 15 mins away from down town but when you are driving along the coast with awesome views it's not too much of an issue.

We really enjoyed the location of this condo, close to Kona and Cook. It was quiet, peaceful, in walking distance to the Sheraton where we enjoyed a great Luau. Also within walking distance to Rays on the Bay. Loved that it was on the top floor with a great view of the pool/hottub and further out, the ocean sunsets. Really liked the vaulted ceiling which made the space seem even more open and roomy.

Just completed a wonderful 51 day stay in Keauhou on the Big Island of Hawaii. This top floor condo is perfect for 2 couples, and the upstairs loft would also be available for two more guests, although it lacks some privacy. We spent most of our time on the lanai watching the sunsets and using the barbeque for our dinners. I don't believe we once used the table inside the condo. Why would you? The lanai is huge and must be at least 8 feet wide by 35 feet long. We especially liked staying in this area because it is convenient to grocery stores, funky downtown Kailua Kona which has not changed in years, and moreover because of the "local flavor" that you get here. All the big resort hotels are to the north in the middle of nowhere and is where the wind blows like hell in the afternoon. Waikoloa is often referred to as Windkoloa. If you like to snorkel, Captain Cook and Two Step are not far and are among the top snorkeling destinations in the world. If you like Kona Coffee, many of the coffee farms are also close by and are good places to go taste, relax, and enjoy the wonderful Hawaiian brew. If you do not like to rent a car, it is possible to walk to the Sheraton and take their shuttle for a few dollars. It makes many stops in places that are interesting if you have not been to the Big Island before. We've booked again for next year and can't wait to experience the Aloha Spirit once more.

We enjoyed all that Kona had to offer and this place had a special draw for us with it gorgeous views of the ocean and golf course. We can go for a swim in the pool on site. We can walk down to the small boat harbor and watch all the activity there. Or go to the Sheraton and go to Rays on the Bay to watch the Manta Rays. On Wednesday we can walk down to the resort and go to the farmers market. It feels close to everything we enjoy.
