Village at Turtle Beach at Kiawah Island

Bedrooms 5
Space 2,600 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 - 7 nights

About the property

House, 5 Bedrooms, 4 Baths, (Sleeps 12)

This five bedroom home is located at 26 Atlantic Beach Court in the family-oriented Village at Turtle Beach - a circle of homes with picket fences, brick-lined walkways, and a shared neighborhood pool. All this located just 150 yards from the beach! It is the perfect setting for a family vacation, golf or tennis group, or a reunion of old friends.

An open porch with rocking chairs and a hammock spans the width of the front of the house. A newly added gate at the top of the porch steps allows you to swing and rock without worrying about the children falling down the porch steps! The open floor plan and high ceilings make the 2600 square feet of living space seem even larger than it is.

The first floor has a master bedroom with a king-size bed and private bath; there is a second bedroom with a queen-size bed and a third bedroom with two twin beds (convertible to a king on request). This second and third bedroom share a bath with a tub and separate shower.

A screened porch spans the entire back of the house and has a gas barbecue grill, dining table, and comfortable wicker furniture.

The second floor has another master bedroom with a king-size bed, private bath and its own private deck. The fifth bedroom upstairs has a queen bed, a twin bed and a set of bunk beds - fun for the kids! This bedroom also has its own private bath.

There is cable TV in every bedroom. Floats and beach chairs are stored under the front porch. All linens and towels are provided (no beach towels however).

Walking distance to the new Sanctuary Resort at Kiawah, as well as Turtle Beach Golf Course and East Beach Tennis Center. No smoking, and pets. We can also arrange for mid-stay cleaning at an additional cost of $250.

About The Owner

My husband and I live in Knoxville Tennessee, and have 3 grown children and 6 grandchildren. We raised our family going to various South Carolina beaches. When we decided to buy a beach home, we chose Kiawah for its beauty, golf, wide-open beaches, and proximity to Charleston. We particularly enjoy our neighborhood because of its family feel and neighborhood pool. We enjoy having friends and family down for holidays and long weekends. It's a perfect house for multiple generations, and is located on a circle that's great for walking and riding bikes!

The Owner purchased this house in 2003

What makes this house unique

We love our front porch that spans the width of the house, with a hammock on one end and a swing on the other. And the newly-added gate keeps us from jumping up every few minutes because a grandchild has gotten too close to the front steps! And then we love our back screened porch with a picnic table and space to just talk and sip wine! A gas grill sets at the bottom of the stairs just outside the back porch. The beach is about 175 yards away, and the pool is only about 50 yards away. Heaven!

Lovely family get away!

  • 5 of 5

26 Atlantic Beach Court had everything our family needed! The kitchen was well equipped and the floor plan was well designed. We LOVED the cozy back porch area, which was attractively decorated! The house is just a quick walk to the beach. We will be back!!

Wonderful family vacation

  • 5 of 5

I recently stayed at this high quality, beautiful home with my three grown children, their spouses and my three young grandchildren (ages 1,2 and 3). This home was a perfect fit. It is very child-friendly, with a gated front porch, high-chair, two portable cribs, and a child's table and play area on the back porch. The bedrooms, 2 upstairs, and 3 downstairs, offered plenty of privacy for each family group with their own bathrooms. This is a comfortable, clean and well-equipped home. The kitchen is roomy with plenty of dishes, etc. for a large family. We enjoyed the large round dining room table. Loved the nearby community pool, and spent hours every day on the beach, which was just a short walk away along a beautiful shaded path. We also enjoyed the courtyard behind the house and played bocce ball in the evenings (we took our own set). There is no better place for family bike rides than Kiawah, with miles of beautiful bike paths. This home is a short ride to Night Heron park, where there is a great playground, and a fun family event with large inflatables one evening. We chose to rent bicycles with child seats, but the house has a couple of usable bikes that are stored under the front porch. I would recommend the Oyster Roast at Mingo Point on Monday night. There is an abundance of great food and drink in a fabulous marsh setting, live music and kid's activities, and the roasted oysters served up with shovels along with plenty of crackers, sauce and lemons are a special treat. The boys in our group enjoyed a day of golf on the fabulous Ocean Course, and the girls went for lunch one day at the beautiful Sanctuary Hotel, just a short bike ride away. The Freshfields Market area is full of fun shops, restaurants and a fabulous grocery store (good fresh fish). The owners of the home, Debbie and John Diddle, were great to work with, responsive and helpful. We had a wonderful time!!!

Great vacation rental

  • 5 of 5

We were a group of nine - five adults and four older teens. The house design provided all of us our own space and a great common area. This was just what our group needed. The house is charming and homey - totally comfortable and tasteful. It is indeed close to the beach and pool. We all did what we wanted to do, knowing the kids were safe and able to move about independently. The common area is great for games. The kitchen has EVERYTHING and again the design is amazing - would love to have taken the fridge home with me! Also, wanted to mention that Freshfields, the market on the island, is not astronomically priced - which is great, because "running to another market" is a real expedition! Loved it!

Just what we were looking for!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I had taken our children to Kiawah Island several times for family vacations when they were growing up. They are all now married young adults and we thought it would be great to take a family vacation to Kiawah, which everyone agreed would be perfect to do. There were ten of us (including two grandchildren), so we needed a 5 bedroom home. Fortunately, we found the perfect place with this home.

Each couple had their own bedroom, the grandchildren had theirs, and there were four bathrooms. There was a very large circular dining table which allowed us to comfortably eat several meals during the week we were there (went out to restaurants other nights) as well as play some board games. Their screened-in porch in the rear was a perfect place to sit and talk at night, or to curl up with a book. The front porch was also great with several comfortable rocking chairs, a double-width swing, and a hammock. There were also small adirondack-type chairs for the grandchildren.

The home was a short walk to the beach and ocean, and an even shorter walk to the pool. We spent quite a bit of time at both.

Debbie was very helpful in answering our questions as we prepared for our vacation, and left us a list of "helpful hints" as well as a list of recommended restaurants in the area. One of the best things was the small wagon which could be used for transporting the small kids to the beach, as well as the bikes she had, which saved us some money in not needing to rent bikes for everyone during our stay.

Overall, everyone thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and we're already talking about a return trip in the not too distant future. This home will definitely be near the top of our list of homes to consider at that time.
