  • Thank you for a beautiful vacation for our family.

"We just spent a wonderful week in your beautiful, peaceful, well equipped home on Kiawah. It was so quiet we could only hear the birds in the woods. We saw lots of deer on the property. There were 10 of us, all teens and adults except for our 9 year old grandson. He loved the pool and made it easy to entertain him. We could watch him from inside or from the porch. There was plenty of room for us to gather together or have privacy if needed. We rented bikes for the week, went to the beach, made a trip into Charleston, and found lots of places to eat and shop. We spotted an alligator on the bike trail, but rode around it. Makes for a good story to tell! Although we did not need him, it was good to know there was a local property manager. We would highly recommend this home to others and would definitely stay here again if we return to the area."

  • Beautiful house with a great pool

"We stayed at this home with 4 couples and two young children and we were very comfortable. The layout was great for everyone to have their own bedroom and bathroom. The centrally located living areas (both upstairs and downstairs) were extremely convenient and comfortable. The pool was great for cooling off and had a great shallow end for the kids to wade in. The house is very secluded and private. The folks with Sweetgrass rental agency were very quick to respond when the construction workers doing some line work cut out cable/internet. They had someone out the same day and even brought another DVD player for us to use."

  • A Lovely Spacious Home!

"The photos do not depict how stately this home is...from its lovely grand foyer to the comfortable en suite bathrooms to the 10-foot ceilings and wide hallways! We loved having a truly comfortable and open floor plan for visiting and cooking together. The kitchen is very well stocked (all kinds of skillets, serving bowls, wine glasses, a blender, dish soap, etc.) and easy to work in while still being part of the group. Having bikes available in the basement was a true bonus! Tire pumps and tools handy if necessary. One of the most fun times was riding to the ocean at twilight on the bikes. A couple times deer were spotted up close. Our king-size bed/mattress was very comfortable, and our guests echoed this sentiment. The upstairs bedrooms are well-appointed (though we didn't find any extra sheets) and quiet enough for babies to take their day naps. There is a lovely painted wooden rocker which is perfect for taking a special photo of the little ones on the front landing. Brenda was extremely communicative and available any time I needed her by phone or by email. That is very important, because I couldn't find my papers upon entering the first gate to Kiawah! Brenda was only a phone call away. There were a few negatives (some unrelated to the home, I realize) and they include the following. The extreme heat and humidity prevented us from enjoying the screened-in porch or deck. The sauna-like conditions in August and "jungle-like" nature of the island kept away any breeze. But the air conditioners on both levels did their jobs, and we were quite comfortable inside. Further, the ocean is very dense with sand so the water is very murky. I recommend taking the available ocean floats located in the unfinished basement which were still sandy from the last guests. The lawn of this home is not suited for children to play outside as the foliage is densex and (BIG) spiders build huge webs all around. It is beautiful, but plan on the beach for outside play. Lastly, the rinse-off shower is located underneath the screened-in porch in a shed-like structure that is dark and closed in, a small issue because there are plenty of showers inside. We had such a good time in this beautiful home and want to thank the owners for listing it and for allowing us to experience the South Carolina's Kiawah Island!"
