We enjoyed the private lovely setting! Our children loved trying to catch crabs! The pool was a highlight too! Property was clean and well maintained and the owners are very nice to work with! Will stay again!!
Great Family Vacation
Stayed at Serenity Acres from 7/22/17-7/29/17. We had a great time the house and property is well equipped and the pool is a great addition. We are big on crabbing and fishing and the Fishing Creek is a crabbing haven. We caught 5 1/2 bushel of crabs over 4 days all of the crabs were 6" or larger and full. White perch fishing is great also we caught 20 white perch. Screened in porch is a great place to eat crabs and enjoy the scenery without having to deal with the bugs. Amazing sounds at night with all of the frogs. We enjoyed every minute of our stay.
When we plan our next family getaway, this house is on the top of my list!
Amazing! The house was perfect for our needs.
We had four adults & 3 boys & a small dog.
Each couple had their own master suite with private bathroom which was great.
The boys stayed in the room with the bunk bed.
The pool was gated which was perfect for our crew - when the boys were running amok in the backyard, I did not worry about them falling in the pool.
We dropped crab traps off the dock, but unfortunately, caught only a few tiny crabs - but going to the dock daily to check was fun with the little boys.
We bought steamed crabs from a local store (Kool Ice) and ate on the screen in deck - which was where I spent most of my time enjoying the fresh air, but avoiding the bugs.
Recommend tick spray - you are in nature after all - and they are out there.
The pool starts to dip into a deeper section halfway - recommend bringing pool noodles and rope to string across halfway. It keeps the kids and their floaties in the "safe" zone - also allows the adults to enjoy floating in the deep end without splash from the kids.
Two televisions in the house, both have bluray DVDs - which we enjoyed with the movies we brought when the weather turned on us with a heavy duty rain storm.
Walmart is only 20 minutes away - we purchased groceries on day one and I never left the house until the end of the week.
The house is very well stocked!! Dishes - pans - spices (yes, old bay) - only need to buy food.
The coffee station was one of my favorite things.
The house is setup so everyone could do their own thing and not be on top of each other.
The living room coffee table is a danger for having children and/or small dogs - we moved it to an unused guest room during our stay. The rest of the house was perfect though with the kids. I liked the fact there was not a lot of decor all over the house, like some other vacation houses. It was sparse which left us room to put our personal things on dressers - and not worry about small children.
There were more than enough blankets and pillows for everyone.
The internet worked better than expected - but I didn't tell the kids - our goal was to be unplugged and away from it all. They spent most of their time in the pool, playing Foosball, or at the giant dining room table with board games. We all seem to eat in the kitchen most of the time as it had 7 bar stool type chairs. It was just easier.
When we plan our next family getaway, this house is on the top of my list!
Thank you Heidi, your family and friends - your kind words about the house are most welcome. Maybe it's time to change that coffee table for one that is kid friendlier (it was such a cool table that fit the atmosphere). We're so glad you enjoyed your stay, you're more than welcome back anytime.

Best August vacation
Thank you so much for allowing your home to become our home for the past week. We really enjoyed our stay there, the home and the surrounding area were so nice and clean, better than some other places we have seen in Cambridge. The house is well equipped and beautifully decorated. Our son and daughter-in-law felt so at home that she watered the flowers as she likes to do at their own home. We had guests from Finland and Belgium and were proud to take them along in our boat and show them how nice it is in Maryland and on Chesapeake Bay. We look forward to coming back to your house again, maybe already this October for a few days to take part of the Cambridge festivities.
Thank you, we really appreciate the great review. Looking forward to your next visit.

Private, Serene and Luxurious
This aptly-named property is the best on the Eastern Shore! Spacious, totally private property on beautiful Fishing Creek just 10 minutes south of Cambridge. It has all of the sought-after attributes:a private, deepwater cove; a nice dock for boating, crabbing and fishing; a convenient put-in for kayaks; lovely, unending shoreline to explore; very large yards surrounded by trees; a refreshing pool and a lovely house that is large and well-furnished.
The house is designed and stocked for large gatherings, yet comfortable for 2. We could have accommodated 15 for our birthday party (and for overnight).
Tranquil, early-morning kayaking made a Bay believer out of my Midwestern girlfriend. Off the dock we caught a few crabs, we caught fish (a nice hardhead or croaker) and we just enjoyed the beauty of the waterfront site.
Can't believe it was available as recently as 2003. What a find! Good job, Dwight!.
Nick - great reviews are very helpful and yours is a great review, many thanks!!! Dwight and Addie
We'd give you a '10' if this was the Olympics!!
Our stay at Serenity Acres was delightful. The house, inside and out, was beautiful. The landscaping that greeted us made a statement that the house was well maintained. The interior decorating was elegant and very comfortable. The picture of the front of the house is deceiving ~ because this place is huge!! Very spacious!
Loved the pool, loved the dock. We appreciated your recommendation to rent kayaks from Blackwater Paddle and Pedal Adventure. The grandchildren enjoyed the kayaks and appreciated the light on the dock, and spent alot of time just hanging out and chatting after dark.
Our family had a wonderful stay; but we do have one question. How do you grow such enormous flies on the Eastern Shore?? They surely could be entered in the Guiness Book.
The grandchildren signed your Guest Book on their own and their words were sincere. They did have an amazing time. As did we all. Thank you for sharing your property with us.
Wow, thank you for the wonderful review, we really appreciate you taking the time to share your views! We agree about the flies, they would be great in a syfy movie.
