About Charlotte Booth
I'm a jazz/cabaret singer, ex-actress and Aerialist instructor, and something of a coffee nut, so there is always very good coffee to be had here! I am married to a photographer and have two small slightly noisy, but adorable boys. We love to travel with packs on our backs to distant lands with adventure in mind, but love nothing more than walking through the beautiful Dorset countryside we're so lucky to live in. Theatre, books and swimming are what make me tick, when time from running a busy family allows that is. We have a pretty relaxed and laissez faire attitude as befits life in the countryside.

Why Charlotte Booth chose Beaminster
This little corner of England is very special and dear to us. Away from major motorways we are surrounded by astonishingly beautiful and varied countryside, and stunning coastline of cliffs, beaches and estuaries. The most appealing part of living where we do is the ability to just walk out of the front door straight into the country.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
A relaxing week.
A very comfortable character property with everything you could possibly need. The eggs and bread awaiting our arrival were much appreciated.
Perfect holiday stay
Peaceful getaway with everything you need.
Lovely characterful cottage, with all the facilities you’d need, in a great location.
We had a fantastic week. The cottage is in a beautiful, idyllic spot, yet brilliantly situated for exploring all the local highlights - so many amazing beaches within 30 mins drive. We did the walk to the pub in Stoke Abbot on the first and last evening and everyone there was super-friendly. Don’t forget a torch for the return leg!
The cottage itself was the perfect size for the 4 of us and every room was well-laid out and suited our requirements. Lots of lovely photos on the wall, too. My son wanted to take the hedgehog print in his room home! Thank you for a lovely stay.
Lovely stay :-)
Beautiful and well equipped converted barn. The master bedroom is huge and features a beautiful roll top bath. 4 busy mummies had a lovely, relaxing weekend here. The surrounding countryside is gorgeous and we highly recommend the walk to the New Inn pub for lunch (and a play on the zip wire in the garden!). The owners were lovely and so helpful. We had a supermarket delivery before arrival and Tim kindly put all the shopping away for us. The wood burner was a nice bonus and made for cozy nights in. There was also a good selection of DVD's to watch. We really enjoyed our stay and would to come back one day.
A wonderful cosy break!
This is an amazing property. Done to a high standard throughout. Cosy and rustic and has everything you need for a ‘home from home’ experience. The location is great and we found lots to do ( coastal walks...nice pubs etc) but also enjoyed relaxing and enjoying chilled time at the property. The hosts were great. Charlotte gave us all the info we needed before arrival and they also supply a great folder with everything you want to know/where to go etc. On our arrival there were no logs/kindling for the stove but Charlotte was quick to bring us supplies.
Why only 4 stars. When we arrived it ‘felt’ like the cleaner (new apparantly) seemed to not do as detailed a clean downstairs as im sure the owners were expecting. This property is pet friendly ( so not expecting perfection) but it was very evident on the ground floor ( no pets allowed upstairs) that a furry friend had been in recently. We didnt bother the hosts as we had been on a long journey with a 1yr old so just got the hoover out again. This is probably a tiny blip so dont be put off. Given the chance we would return. Cheers.
Simply - uncomplicated relaxation!
What a cosy cottage! From the fire lit ready for our arrival, to the enormous super king sized bed and roll top bath (both in the main bedroom).
A last minute booking the day before we arrived and still the cottage was spotless, warm and welcoming. Towels on the radiators and fresh eggs (laid by resident hens) in a basket on the work top.
Uncomplicated, rustic but very comfortable for a family holiday or a weekend break.
Tim was there to welcome us and quick to point out that if there was anything we needed, to knock on the main house door, (there wasn't).
Beautiful walks right from the door out into the wonderful rolling countryside. Our Dog Alfie was particularly impressed with a 100 mile an hour run (him not us) over to Beaminster and back where we stopped for coffee and cake and he was given water and a chopped up sausage (just because) - thank you to the lovely people in the Steak House.
Windy walks along Chesil beach gave eye level views of massive waves after storm Diana.
All in all really relaxing weekend break which felt less like two nights and more like a week, we were so chilled.
Thanks to Tim, Charlotte and the hens.

West Bay (aka Broadchurch) is about 17 minutes away. Lyme Regis about 30-35 with many lovely beaches in between.
The beautiful local village of Beaminster is about 4 minutes drive. Co-Op 7am - 11pm, superb restaurant Brassica, good baker, excellent butcher, hardware, deli, patisserie and several gift shops. The town is just below where they filmed Far From The Madding Crowd, so nestled in outstanding scenery.
Beaminster is a rural idyll. The village has its own vegetable shop, butcher, chemist, pubs, award winning restaurant, patisserie, deli and artisan shops. It is peaceful and very friendly with local events/fetes, antique markets and Broadwindsor boasts a craft centre (with a fabulous little bakery), pretty church, pub and annual events. The sea is just a short drive away, and is home to 'Broadchurch' the BBC series. It boasts wonderful scenery and sea food!
Buses run regularly (ish) from Beaminster and Broadwindsor and taxis are available, but need to be booked in advance. To get around the area you really do ned a car.
