Holiday at Villa Mercan...Kalkan

It was our first visit to Villa Merca in Kalkan....We found the villa was everything as described. The property was very clean and had all facilities you need. Eating out is a must as there are so many lovely restaurants with excellent food and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend this villa to anyone who is looking for a bit of luxury accommodation with spectacular views...

Fabulous villa , fabulous views , fabulous place

We had a fantastic week , villa had everything we needed and more , difficult to tear ourselves away to enjoy the area. Views to die for , close enough to town but taxis easy to arrange . Lots of steps but worth it . Every bedroom as a great view so no arguing about who gets what bedroom, lovely sun deck, seating area and jacuzzi at the top , great for late night drinking and relaxing . Can't recommend highly enough , just go . Kalkan is also a really lovely place . So many places to eat and drink and easy to get around with private taxis and private boats to snorkel . We will hopefully return . Thank you for sharing your home .

Amazing stay

Villa Mercan was set in a gorgeous part of Turkey Kalkan the views were incredible from every window in the villa. The villa was set over 3 floors with spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. The open plan living area was great overlooking the sea with the infinity pool in front. We all loved the villa., it was home from home for me I made use of the laundry facilities so I came home with minimal dirty clothes. Rudi was brilliant with any issues we had all sorted. Helen was a great host keeping in contact and sharing information with us. We hired a car at the airport so we drove ourselves to the villa it was 1.5 hour drive and straight forward following Helen’s directions in the handbook which she had sent before hand. It kept us fit as we decided to do the short walk to the harbour most days and evenings just part of the walk is down steps on the way there but up the steps on the way back which is fine as you can rest half way and take in the view 😊 definitely recommend.,

Fantastic

The photos of the villa on the site do not lie, the villa was massively impressive. The pool was lovely with ample room for all six of us to sunbathe in peace. The rooftop ottoman and jacuzzi were fabulous, a little slice of heaven on the roof. The villa has everything we needed, kitchen facilities great, good shower pressure and hot water, bedrooms were all a great size and the air con was great and needed. Overall we loved our stay, we have been to Kalkan before and we all love the place. It’s a ten-fifteen minute walk into town or taxi’s for 15tl which is around £2 and there are plenty. Kalkan is a lovely place with excellent resteraunts and a beautiful views. Would definately stay here again. Arranging the villa was very easy and Helen and Alan were very helpful as was Ibo who was only a call away whenever you needed him. Many thanks for letting us stay in your excellent villa.

Perfect Serenity

We had 13 nights in Villa Mercan and were joined by a nice mix of friends for the second week. The villa is the perfect spot for getting the absolute best from Kalkan. The heart of the town is just 10 minutes walk along a lovely coastal path or 3 minutes in a taxi, which costs a mere £2. Kalkan has an abundant supply of really great authentic restaurants all within striking distance. The villa itself has pretty unrivaled views of Kalkan bay and is tucked into a hillside, affording a good deal of privacy and peace. The organisation and logistics were seamless with Helen taking care of all arrangements for us. The villa is clean and tidy with ample space for relaxing. It would suit a large family as much as a collective of couples. The facilities there are superb with everything you could possibly need provided. The pool area lends itself perfectly to just chilling in the afternoon sun with a beer or cocktail and cooling down with regular dips in the cute infinity pool, which is in immaculate condition and is cleaned daily. When it gets too hot during the day, there is a nice sheltered canopy on the roof terrace above some low bench seating, and a roof top jacuzzi. We tended to eat a large breakfast at the villa, possibly have a light lunch or snack, then dine out every evening on one of Kalkan's many brilliant and very good value restaurants. Everyone in town seems to know Villa Mercan and the local agent knows everyone in town so you will never be short of a safety net or an essential contact to get something organised. We took a boat trip from the harbour on our own bespoke itinerary and explored a fabulous picturesque cave. Kalkan is a lovely spot, very affordable and with friendly, welcoming people. It is clear to us that Villa Mercan is one of the prime accommodation choices. A stunning location.

An absolutely stunning property

We came to Kalkan last year and didn't think we could better our experience but oh my goodness, how wrong could we be. Villa Mercan was beautiful and in a beautiful location. It offered everything that we could possibly want from a holiday home. The infinity pool was stunning and the seating area at the top of the building was brilliant end for a night out. All the rooms had floor to ceiling windows with stunning views and en suite facilities. I am sure we will make a return visit.

Rock star villa, amazing

Villa Mercan in Kalkan is as fabulous as it looks on the pictures. Loved using the roof top Jacuzzi in the morning and last thing at night sipping some fizz. The beds are comfy and the walk-in showers are spacious and unlike some villas the water pressure is good and the temperature great if you need a hot shower. The location is great as well. There are a few steps to negotiate in the villa as it is on four levels, however this is a great way to burn off those extra calories accumulated from the amazing restaurants in Kalkan. The Palm Beach club is just at the bottom of the steps to access the villa from the bottom road and you can swim in the sea here, get a boat taxi or eat in their restaurant. Also from here you can walk into town and it takes about 15 minutes. As this is such a great location there are a few more villas surrounding the plot, but this is typical in Kormuluk and is to be expected because it has the best views in Kalkan. I can highly recommend this villa and Helen (the owner) who looked after the booking and arranged our pick ups from the airport. She is very helpful and she has an on site agent Ibo to take care of any issues. Than you Helen and Alan for our perfect 10 days!

Second to none outstanding property

We had a fabulous holiday the villa was outstanding hard to pick fault maybe mention the many steps access to the villa but it didn't really bother us its just what it is. The villa had every superb luxury you could imagine I highly recommend this villa to other holiday makers. Kalkan was lovely lots of restaurants and great food perhaps a little quiet but this was the month of May so to be expected There is no doubt it is a beautiful place and the people are wonderful. We had reservation about travelling to Turkey but there really was no need to have worried, the whole experience contributed to one of the best holidays I have ever had we certainly want to return.

10 Days in Paradise!

I arrived at this villa late on a Monday night, and due to this, one would assume, I’d hit the hay in my lovely room ready for Tuesday...This assumption would be wrong as instead I spent the evening grabbing a few drinks out in town and then a midnight dip in the astonishing infinity pool – my first time in one – which was beautifully lit and over looked the colourful city of Kalkan. What a way to start a holiday! This residence is one that continues to amaze you morning-to-night and beginning-to-end. You wake up with a stunning sea-view and not even a slight disturbance as this property on the side the mountain just across from the town. With a fully fitted kitchen it's easy to rustle the bacon and eggs you bought from the local shops and enjoy this in the lounge whilst watching a wide-range of English programmes. If you're committed to sitting pool-side all day then clearly this can be done. However, if you're more of an explorer then it’s a simple 15 minute walk down the road - or a 2 minute taxi trip from one of the numbers the villa provides you! The villa-owners are very popular and well liked so the drivers certainly know the villa just by the name! I should also mention the owners provide you with an impressive welcome pack, filled with numbers, advice and useful information to help you get the best experience whilst abroad. In the evenings you can have you food or drinks on the 4th floor's terrace and dip in the Jacuzzi if you fancy! Honestly, it’s really quite a surreal feeling doing so, with such an amazing view right in front of your eyes. The photos shown from previous to the holiday don’t do it justice! Staying in Villa Mercan honestly felt like I was a celebrity for a week and every second was incredible! Whether it's a trip with the family or just a few mates, I can promise it's a trip you will be longing to do again and again and again! Thank you so much to Villa Mercan and the owners, you gave me a trip of a lifetime. I would, and have, recommended (and bragged) about this villa to all of my family and friends and I can bet they also would not be disappointed.

Wow.

I have just returned from the most wonderful 10 days holiday I have ever had. Villa Mercan was everything and more than what we anticipated to it be, with stunning sea views from every room which was particularly appealing as we woke each morning after some rather late nights “partaking” of the local cuisine! The villa is well equipped and excellently located just a few minutes’ walk along the sea front to the Old Town and harbour. It is very private and we were able to catch up on our sleep and top up on the tan lazing by the pool, with just an occasional dip to cool down! There is also a Jacuzzi on the amazing roof terrace which we also used both in the day time and the evening whilst viewing the lights of Kalkan. Whilst Palm Beach Club is less than 200 yards away, we preferred Yali and Indigo Beach Clubs (at the end of the bay) which are only the equivalent of about £3 in a taxi which are plentiful. An “early morning” taxi back from town was only £2.50 for all of us! I would definitely recommend Villa Mercan for the holiday of a life time!

Simply Stunning!

We had a wonderful stay at this villa. The views were amazing and the resort of Kalkan is fantastic. The owners were very attentive and organised our transfer including requirements for our son such as a cot and high chair. The villa is beautiful and all four rooms are perfect. The views from the roof top, jacuzzi and infinity pool all make this a wonderful experience. We would wholeheartedly recommend a stay here.

Nice villa...with plenty of steps !!!!

I was part of a group of 7 adults and a four year old boy who stayed at this villa for 2 weeks.The villa itself was as all the pictures had shown and was very clean and very well looked after,the views from the poolside of the villa and indeed from all 4 bedrooms was very impressive,the tv at times was good but later on was very poor as it is depends on a good wi-fi signal which seemed to dip later on in the day,the wi-fi was fine for use with your phones or tablets/i pad as there are 3 routers in total withinthe villa. Now for the bad points in my opinion.....there are no black out curtains or shutters in any of the bedrooms,only very thin roller blinds with gaps in between the blinds which let direct sunlight straight in,the blinds themselves do not keep out much sunlight so there is no way of stopping sunlight getting into the room...from 7 am it was almost impossible to sleep due to the heat and sunlight coming into the room,the aircon in two of the bedrooms only blew out warmish air and did not blow anywhere near as cold as the aircon in the living room or the other 2 bedrooms.The beds again i think were very very firm but this i assume this is a hard one for the villa owners as some people will like a hard bed where i prefer a soft bed. The villa is about a 30 min walk from the center of kalkan and is by no means a 10 minute stroll...THERE IS ALSO 79 STEPS to get down to the villa and 79 steps back up every time you wish to go anywhere...this was never relayed to us and was a major issue for two of our party who had mobility issues with the stairs....For us the 79 steps and the 30 min walk into kalkan spoiled our holiday as we were not told about this when we booked the villa....so please be aware that there is a lot of steep hills and 79 steps and a 30 min walk everytime you have to go in or out the villa...personally i would not book this villa again.

Paradise Lost

We had an absolutely wonderful holiday in superb accommodation that met all of our needs and more. With eight of us in our party and there being 4 double/twin en-suite rooms with spectacular front facing sea views and in some cases side balconies as well, everyone had their own space with views to die for. The beds were extremely comfortable, there was more than enough storage space and the en-suites provided you with a bath/shower & in some cases, both! The open plan kitchen/dining room & lounge was more than spacious and every facility imaginable was catered for including a separate downstairs cloakroom/laundry room, SKY TV and much more. Something to take note of, and which applies to most accommodation in Kalkan, is that there will be a large number of steps to and from your accommodation and to the sea front due to the fact that Kalkan is built into the hillside. This villa is no exception but the fact it is positioned nearer to the seafront than many makes it all worth while! Anyone that has been to Kalkan will tell you it is beautiful and it is! If you are a discerning traveler who looks for something that bit more special & upmarket then this is definitely for you. With an abundance of restaurants some of which we ate in each evening, (there are over 300 so I'm told), exclusive shops as well as your bazzar type retail outlets and the magnificent harbour offering you day trips with swimming in the sea, sunbathing on deck and a wonderful Al fresco lunch with wine, (yes, we did partake), and which we will definItely do again on our next visit! It was wonderful! A must do! Until the next time....

Wonderful holiday

Have just returned from a wonderful holiday. The villa surpassed all of our expectations. Everything is of a very high quality and is just perfect. The pool was excellent and the views were just amazing! The location is brilliant too with shops and restaurants within walking distance. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this villa to anyone, we will definitely be back.

Gorgeous villa, gorgeous town, gorgeous holiday!

Visited Villa Mercan for a short break in October and it wasn't a disappontment! The villa is built and furnished to a wonderful standard. The views from all the balconies are just stunning. Fantastic pool with superb views to the sea. Great equipped kitchen, TV with many UK channels, including all the sports channels. Kalkan itself is a beautiful, picturesque coastal town. There are lots of restaurants and bars - but not rowdy - lovely quaint shops and a really interesting market on a Thursday. All in all, I would definitely recommend both the area and Villa Mercan for a stay!

Holiday of a life time.

I can honestly say the villa was amazing.The views from every room were superb.The infinity pool has a view that goes on for miles.The villa's kitchen is well equipped for everyday needs.Every bedroom has an on suite. The shower has good water pressure which is a bit of bonus as most placed I have stayed do not.Very clean throughout.Pool man arrives every morning so pool clean.Good quality bedding and towels in all rooms.Jacuzzi on the top floor was amazing.There is a large seating area next to it so you can chill.The town is a short walk away or a taxi is around £3.Kalcan is a more up market place but very affordable.The food is to die for.We ate in a different restaurant every night.The towns people I cannot fault.So friendly and welcoming.I had a fantastic 10 days there and would go back to the villa and Kalkan in a heartbeat.The owners of the villa are very lucky people.

We bought Villa Mercan in Komurluk, Kalkan after visiting the area on a day out from our other villa in Ovacik (Villa Annie Rose). We love Turkey and aim to spend most of our holidays in this wonderful country with its super food and people.
