Flint House - Cottage with a twist, parking and short walk to beach.

When we were looking for a holiday home we were drawn to Sheringham and found the perfect cottage for us that for us that is just a short walk a great beach and the town centre. Add to this off road parking and a secure garden and it makes for a great holiday where you can park up and just walk everywhere you need for the week.

With two main downstairs rooms both with plenty of space there is enough room for the family even if it rains. We have TV's in both rooms (amazon prime on one and freeview on the other), games and books if needed. There is also a downstairs toilet.

The kitchen comes with everything you will need plus a washing machine and dishwasher which are holiday essentials in our mind.

Up the cupboard stairs (these are quite steep) there is two double bedrooms a bathroom and seperate toilet. On the top floor is another Bedroom with two seperate single beds.

Sheringham has lots to offer from a great high street with lots of independant shops, the Little Theartre and the Poppy steam train line.
Of course there is also the beach, lots of golf courses and a great location to explore North norfolk further should you wish. Booking is Friday to Friday in the Summer, Friday to Monday, Monday to Friday in winter.

Please note while we ask for a damage deposit this is held by Homeaway and not us.

The house in Sheringham was perfect - tasteful, spacious, cosy and well equipped! The short walk into town made for exploring the high street, visiting the beach and tasting the mix of coffee shops. The car parking space was a cherry on the cake, meaning we could come and go as we pleased. Our dogs loved the enclosed garden, meaning they could explore with peace of mind. We had a really wholesome stay over New Years, and felt Phil maintain good communication throughout which was reassuring for first tine visitors. We really hope to return again soon!

This house was one of the best that I’ve stayed in- clean, tidy, enclosed garden, beautifully decorated and a fab space. Plenty of games and books to entertain the family. Ideal location for Sheringham and for walks along the Norfolk Coastal Path. The host was easy to contact and extremely helpful- including having the heating on ready for our arrival. We will definitely be visiting again.

Lovely place to stay. Everything you could need was available in the house. Off-street parking was essential. Fully enclosed garden was perfect for the dogs and we made use of the garden furniture too.The stairs are certainly steep, but this is stated in the property details.Phil is very approachable and welcoming as a host.

Good property for our stay.

Everything we needed for our stay. In easy reach of the shops and beach. Only criticism is that it needed cobwebs removing and the windows needed cleaning.

happy house

even though the cottage could do with an update with lots of things falling apart, and broken - i absolutely loved it - good vibes around the house, with a short walk to the beach and town. in fact i would love to live there. would def go back.

Friends & dogs

Lovely quirky property, great garden, ideal for dogs downstairs. We loved being close to shops, beach & restaurants. We didn't use attic bedroom stairs too tight & steep. All rooms clean & fresh but bathroom needs an overhaul. We enjoyed our stay thank you

Charming place

Great location for our long weekend. Just a few minutes walk from the front and the town, Flint House is comfortable and charming with all the facilities for a self catered stay. The only minor negatives are the stairs are extremely steep and IMO dangerous by modern standards with uneven tread widths and depths. A missed opportunity to put this right when it was extended. The shower and bath had a bit of mold. The garden furniture and the decking are rotten in parts, again dangerous, ready to give way under foot. A couple of side tables in the lounge and/or kitchen would be a welcome addition.

Fantastic location for exploring Sheringham and the surrounding area

This property is ideally located to explore Sheringham and everything is literally a 5 -10 min walk away, and is also centrally located for exploring the North Norfolk coast and attractions are all just a short drive away. The house was perfect for us and our dogs and the garden is secure and enclosed for peace of mind. We had a fabulous time here and would highly recommend a stay here. I have a couple of minor points that I believe people should be aware of, We could not check-in till after 16:30 to allow for the extra cleaning for covid-19, however we felt that the cobwebs we cleaned suggest this wasn't so, however the kitchen and bathrooms/toilets were all extremely clean. At most properties we stay at, there is always a welcome pack and I feel that this is an important aspect to make guests feel truly welcome, so not receiving one on this occasion was disappointing ( a few basic supplies would not go amiss with a late check-in). The information booklet was out of date and some of the leaflets were no longer relevant (bus timetable 2018). There were only two hand towels in the property, but x1 bathroom and x2 toilets, the listing did say they did not supply towels and we had to bring our own, but I think they should be supplied. These are a few trivial observations on what was an otherwise thoroughly enjoyable stay but I believe that a honest review is important for the owner to consider. We would definitely stay here again and I can recommend the location as fantastic for anybody coming to the area for the first time and seasoned visitors alike for its great central location.

Many thanks for your review. I’ve asked the cleaners to address the cobwebs and will definitely look to update the info pack. Unfortunately we had to stop the welcome pack due to Covid-19 and while we have provided towels in the past we had issues with them being used for the beach so had to stop, but will definitely look to add an extra hand towel. Flint House Holiday Cottage

My stepdaughter, partner, daughter (18) and son (15) spent a very happy week in this comfortable and well-placed cottage in Sheringham. The off-road parking was invaluable as was the proximity of the shops, the railway station and the beach.

Family break

A short break with my daughter, her partner and 5 year old. House had enough space for me to get a bit of separation from the others which I needed at times. I was able to charge my car at the nearby Tesco and there were enough local activities to keep an active boy amused. Easy walk to the sea.

Great half term break

Loved coming to Sheringham for May half term. Really convenient spot to walk into the town and beaches. Great coastal walks and other drives to beaches, see the seals and visit nearby spots. House as described and very handy off street parking and outside space. Many thanks.

What a lovely place

After 15 months of waiting because of Lockdowns and the like we got to Flint House. here! Well worth the wait! A really pleasant and very well appointed letting just a short walk from the centre of Sheringham. Spacious and comfortable downstairs with an excellent lounge and a very spacious kitchen diner area. A nice garden space for outside eating. The house host is excellent and communicated well with us. We will look to re-book the next time we visit the area.

Wonderful seaside break

Holidaying during a pandemic had challenges, but the quality of our accommodation was not one of them. Before we travelled, Phil was incredibly helpful and quick to respond to my queries. We arrived at check-in time and had no problems collecting the key and getting straight in. Then we dashed straight to the high street (couple of minutes walk) for ice-creams and a stroll by the sea! Barely used the car all week - Sheringham is a lovely town and the cottage is well positioned for the shops and the sea-front. We went for lovely walks, played on the beach, ate ice-cream and fish and chips and I even had a very quick swim!

We are a family of 7 and being originally from Norfolk I was keen that we gave our children the same wonderful holiday experience we had.

We wanted a flint cottage that was the beach side of the railway, had parking, garden for the kids and dogs plus a great family space.

We had to have some work done to get the house up to scratch but we hope our guests love our house as much as we do.
