About Danny Baysden
My wife, Wanda and I, chose this property for the unique location and the topography of the land. This property was originally owned and built by a local family who still live close by. We would like to open our special place for others to enjoy.

We really enjoyed our time at this house for the weekend. Nice and private. It was very clean. The blue lagoon was a big hit with my wife and kids. Will come back
Wonderful, secluded property with very hospitable owner
We enjoyed a fantastic vacation at Next to Nature and it was exactly what we were looking for. The house is very clean and well kept and has a well equipped kitchen with everything we needed to prepare and cook all our meals. The Blue Lagoon is an absolute treat and we spent many hours swimming, floating, kayaking, and relaxing there; pictures do not do justice to how picturesque it is. Danny was very responsive and made sure all our needs were taken care of before and during our stay. We will definitely be back to stay again!
We had a great stay. It was only a 3 day weekend but felt right at home. We were impressed with the cleanliness and open layout. We loved the privacy and closeness to the beach. All in all a wonderful stay.
Worth every penny!
This property was just perfect for us; very clean, spacious, and so, so peaceful. "Next to Nature" is a fitting name for this property. The kitchen had every utensil and appliance needed to make our meals, the living room was comfortable, and the 3 bedrooms properly appointed and with comfortable beds and extra pillows. And while the house had everything we needed, the real jem here is the surroundings. We couldn't hear any traffic noise, just crickets, cicadas, frogs, and an occasional owl and fox at night. Plenty of birdwatching during the day without having to even leave the property. It is apparent the owners take good care of their property. In particular I want to point out how accommodating and generous they were to us regarding our dates and they communicated quickly and politely throughout. Thank you!!!
What a wonderful property and experience! This rental helps you get away from it all! The house is very comfy, extremely quiet, and has some great views! I spent many mornings sitting on the front porch watching the osprey and egrets fly around. My daughter and I went kayaking and it was great- very peaceful with a lot of birds to watch! We also used the firepit at night to roast marshmallows!
My only negative comment would be their lack of cable or a streaming device. If you want to watch anything besides three channels, you need to bring a streaming device (Amazon fire stick or Roku). Our roku stick didn't work well, but our Amazon fire stick did.
I would definitely stay here again when I'm in the area!
A Hidden Gem!
And I mean that literally!! This little cottage is hidden down a dirt driveway that gives solitude a new meaning. The house was clean and had most of the amenities you look for in a rental. We were able to bring our dogs and let them run and play in the woods and fields with no worries about traffic etc. The view off the front porch was a delight and the fire pit was used every night. I even went for a paddle in one of the kayaks. You are about an 8 minute drive from Topsail island and all the restaurants and amenities it has to offer. It was too cold for a swim in the lagoon but it sure looked inviting. The owners were very easy to work with and responded quickly to any questions. We highly recommend this little cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway close to the beach!
