About Terri L. Chabot
We have been Kure Beach residents for three years after relocating from Connecticut, and recently purchased our forever home in October of 2016. The cottage is located at the back of main property, so we are typically on premises or close by partaking in one of the many activities the island has to offer. We are avid fishermen, and spend much of our free time surf fishing or out on our boat. My husband is a professional who works from a home office and I am a photographer who can often be found walking the pier taking wildlife and fish pictures, as well as early morning sunrises. Our son, who just graduated from Cape Fear Community College, also resides with us.

Why Terri L. Chabot chose Kure Beach
We had been vacationing in this area for years, and when my husband had the freedom to relocate, this was the only place we had in mind. We were drawn to it as we are big outdoors folks who enjoy fishing, boating, gorgeous weather, and the sound of the ocean. The local residents accepted us with open arms and made us feel completely at home in our new home.
What makes this Cottage unique
Our new home just called to us due to its location. We are one-block from two fine restaurants and the Kure Beach Pier, and right across from the ocean where I can watch the sunrise from our front porch (and bedroom window), and fall asleep to the sound of the ocean.

Loved the stay
Clean, comfortable, peaceful, everything as described. Will be looking to book again.
Perfect homebase for a fall fishing trip
This place exceeded our expectations! We came to fish for a few days and couldn’t have been in a more pleasant location. Walking distance to both the beach and the pier as well as local restaurants. Excellent hospitality and accommodations were clean, modern and comfortable. We will definitely be back!
Perfect for our getaway.
We really enjoyed our stay. The property is perfect for 2 people. Very clean and well stocked. We got there late at night and bed was made. Very personable owners. Walking distance to pier and restaurants. Right across street from the beach.
Wonderful rental, would definitely stay here again.
The cottage had everything as described and more. Terri and Ed were so welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed our stay here immensely!!!
Lovely cottage close to everything
We had a very enjoyable stay in Kure Beach. This small cottage is comfortable, clean and well-supplied if you want to stay in for dinner. Even better, it is close to the beach, restaurants and the fishing pier. We were made to feel very welcome, and our hosts were quick to respond to any need. I would highly recommend this place for your stay, and we look forward to coming back in the future!
Great Accomodations, Well Maintained, Perfect Location
Great house with nice accomodations, easy access to the beach, pier and local restaurants. Owners are extremely nice and the place is very well maintained. Look forward to next year!
"Swept Away" is conveniently located a block from the Kure Beach Fishing Pier, restaurants (Italian, seafood and diner), oceanfront park (free concerts each Sunday in the summer months), and the beautiful Kure Beach. A park with playground, tennis courts, basketball and a dog run is located about 2 blocks away. It is only 3 miles from Carolina Beach where you will find shopping, restaurants and clubs that offer live music and dancing, and the newly renovated boardwalk with amusement park rides in the summer months.
Three miles away you will find Fort Fisher with an abundance of Civil War History (including a museum) and the local aquarium. Sunrises are gorgeous on the East Side at the Pier, and sunsets (a short drive) are gorgeous on the West Side of the island. Dolphins are often spotted at both times of the day. Every week in the summer there are firework displays in Carolina Beach which is 3 miles away. Pleasure Island has boundless activities to participate in year-round. Book a fishing charter on the many boats located at the Marina in Carolina Beach.
