About Terri L. Chabot
We have been Kure Beach residents for three years after relocating from Connecticut, and recently purchased our forever home in October of 2016. The cottage is located at the back of main property, so we are typically on premises or close by partaking in one of the many activities the island has to offer. We are avid fishermen, and spend much of our free time surf fishing or out on our boat. My husband is a professional who works from a home office and I am a photographer who can often be found walking the pier taking wildlife and fish pictures, as well as early morning sunrises. Our son, who just graduated from Cape Fear Community College, also resides with us.

Why Terri L. Chabot chose Kure Beach
We had been vacationing in this area for years, and when my husband had the freedom to relocate, this was the only place we had in mind. We were drawn to it as we are big outdoors folks who enjoy fishing, boating, gorgeous weather, and the sound of the ocean. The local residents accepted us with open arms and made us feel completely at home in our new home.
What makes this Cottage unique
Our new home just called to us due to its location. We are one-block from two fine restaurants and the Kure Beach Pier, and right across from the ocean where I can watch the sunrise from our front porch (and bedroom window), and fall asleep to the sound of the ocean.

Revisiting Kure Beach and staying in this little cottage was just right for us and our travel buddies—all of whom had recently retired. Couldn’t ask for better people to rent from!
Cozy cottage great for small mature family
Over all the cottage was very clean and well kept. It is modern and well put together. Ideally we felt that this property would be more ideal for a small family with older kids or two couples. We had two small children with us and the furniture and set up we’re not toddler friendly. Also the dining room table only sets two chairs. We didn’t find folding chairs tucked away in a closest until the day we were packing up to leave. They do have a wonderful outdoor dining area with a patio set that sits four people but the flys are horrific. We tried on two separate occasions to eat outside and we were unable to bare the swarm of fly on us and our food. Plus racket from the AC until to the main house which is only a few feet away makes the outdoor eating area less then desirable to use. We did have random issues that popped up on our stay but the property owners were very much on top of things and were quick to address the issues at once and find a solution. The place has the perfect amount of space for four people and the kitchen was fully functional for a family who cooked meals all week long! It is a very short walk to a perfect stretch of beach and you are very close to the pier at Kure Beach!
The house was all I hoped for and more. My girls and I had an amazing experience and hope to stay again. Terry thank you for making us feel so welcome and being an awesome host!
It is a great place for family vacation. It is clean, cozy, very close to beach and other attractions. Place for recuperation and positive energy. All things work as they should and as they are advertised. Owners are kind, helpful people. Just great people. We had a great vacation.
Great location, clean and comfortable.
Perfect for couples. Near the pier but quiet area. Convenient and cozy. Really enjoy staying here. Terri is always friendly and helpful.
Great value for a couple get away
My wife and I were looking for a nice affordable place near the beach and we certainly found it. Very well decorated and perfect size for us.
We loved that the beach was literally across the street. Very quiet as the cottage sits off the street.
We will definitely be back.
"Swept Away" is conveniently located a block from the Kure Beach Fishing Pier, restaurants (Italian, seafood and diner), oceanfront park (free concerts each Sunday in the summer months), and the beautiful Kure Beach. A park with playground, tennis courts, basketball and a dog run is located about 2 blocks away. It is only 3 miles from Carolina Beach where you will find shopping, restaurants and clubs that offer live music and dancing, and the newly renovated boardwalk with amusement park rides in the summer months.
Three miles away you will find Fort Fisher with an abundance of Civil War History (including a museum) and the local aquarium. Sunrises are gorgeous on the East Side at the Pier, and sunsets (a short drive) are gorgeous on the West Side of the island. Dolphins are often spotted at both times of the day. Every week in the summer there are firework displays in Carolina Beach which is 3 miles away. Pleasure Island has boundless activities to participate in year-round. Book a fishing charter on the many boats located at the Marina in Carolina Beach.
