About this property

O Cantinho do Zé, Holiday home in the center of Funchal

A renovated home in the center of Funchal. Located on a quiet street so that eventhough you are in the centre you can still relax and get that rest you deserve.
This apartment/house has a big lounge, fully equiped kitchen, two bedrooms and a spacious bathroom.
From the garden you can see the tower of the Sé Cathedral church and the cruise ships arriving in the harbour.
This home is perfect as it is near everything but quite away from street traffic.




Just chill out and feel at home, away from your home !!

We made of this apartment specialy to make guests feel as in their own home providing the best furniture, comfortable mattresses and pillows.

The Kitchen
Appliances were bought modern and easy to use and functional.
There is a really cool electric stove top, nice speedy washing machine and big fridge+freezer. Toaster, microwave, electric. Plates, bowls, cutlery, nice glasses, tea and coffee mugs, frying pans and casserols.
A small coffe table with 2 chairs is in the kitchen.


The Living room
There is big and soft fabric corner sofa in the living room where you can relax and enjoy the tele and why not enjoy a nap to charge your batteries !!
Flat screen TV with cable TV channels, Wi-Fi.
A dinner table is there with 4 chairs.

Bathroom
There is 1 bathroom with a shower, bidet, laundry basket, hair dryer, first aid box and 2 big mirrors.

The Bedrooms
The master bedroom has a queen size bed ( 160cm200cm ) with a comfortable memory foam mattress, there is a big wadrobe where you can put all your stuff.
The single Beds are ( 90cm x 200cm ) and has a comfortable memory foam mattress aswell, there is a wadrobe also for all your belongings
Curtains in all rooms are 100% black -out.

The Garden
There is a big garden and patio with a magnificient solar exposure all day long where you can enjoy your breakfast or take a bit of sunshine in the sun loungers with a cool drink, or think to do a nice BBQ in the afternoon.

A great place to stay close to Funchal centre

We really enjoyed our stay here. The apartment is spacious and very clean; there are good amenities, too. It is realistically a 10+ minute walk (generally down hill) into the centre - and uphill on the return. This didn't bother us - but if you don't like hills, this probably isn't the place for you! The terrace is great and there is a lot of space. It was really nice to have a good kitchen, although a few additional utensils would have been helpful (scissors, an extra drying tea towel etc). However, the washing machine was brilliant, as were the supplied capsules for the machine. Two words of warning: we had a car - the streets aren't too bad - but the parking at the property is tricky. There is another car left (I assume semi-permanently) in the driveway, meaning if you have a car like we did (a Renault Clio estate) it is TOUGH to park. I like to think I am pretty good - but this experience is a test of your driving/reversing abilities! If you have an option, request a small car (if I had known about the parking, I would have definitely requested this). And... mosquitoes. We didn't think it would be an issue. There is a repellant plugged in but we had to buy another. We got very badly bitten - and I know that Madeira is sub-tropical but I really didn't think it would have been such an issue. Come prepared! Enjoy your stay here - it's very quiet, with little noise in the neighbourhood, and some interesting (but not that interested in humans!) cats to chat to if that is your thing.

Superbe logement

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour de deux semaines dans ce logement. La maison est très bien située dans un quartier calme à moins de dix minutes à pied du centre ville. Le logement est très propre, fonctionnel, et très agréable avec sa terrasse et son barbecue..... Merci pour votre accueil et votre gentillesse, nous reviendrons avec plaisir. Je recommande vivement ce logement.

Good flat in an ideal location

The managers were very good, prompt replies to questions, arranged for a taxi to pick us up at the airport and gave us a lift into town to get the bus as we left. The flat was clean and tidy and was as described. The flat was up a hill but there were three bus routes that served the area. I would highly recommend this flat.
