Valley view was an excellent place to stay for our week away in Dorset, it was very clean and tidy and well equipped, and although a little out of the way, served as a good base to explore the area. As the cottage was located in a small village, accessing was through narrow country lanes, with passing points. It was circa 23 miles to Weymouth. There were some steps to navigate which would be fine for most people but as we had our elderly mother (93 years) with us, it took some sorting out, providing her support, but she made it up and down each day with some assistance, it would probably help everyone if the limited hand rails could be extended and cover both sets of steps, and maybe some rails in the bathroom There were a couple of minor housekeeping issues which we advised the owner of, very loose toilet seat and the wash hand basin waste appearing to be blocked. The owner was very nice and approachable and seemed to marvel at Mum climbing all the steps.

Lovely little place and convenient for West Bay, Bridport, lyme Regis etc.
Lovely little place and convenient for West Bay, Bridport, lyme Regis etc. just be aware there is quite a long single track country lane from the main road to the property. Lots of places to park in all the season towns and parking prices pretty much just £1 an hour.

We needed peace and tranquility, and that's exactly what we got.
We needed peace and tranquility, and that's exactly what we got. There were fantastic views from the windows. Bridport was only four miles away with its markets, Saturday and Wednesday. There are bakers selling delicious bread and cakes. There are lots of cafes. One mile from bridport is West Bay. Which has been the setting for many tv series. We would come back to the cottage, and its relaxing ambience, and totally chill.
