Casa Guacamole: Magical Open-Air Hacienda with Million Dollar Ocean Views

Bedrooms 4
Space 6,450 sq ft
Property type villa
Minimum Stay 4 - 7 nights

About the property

4 bedroom, 5 bathroom villa with 180° ocean views and pool in downtown area

*As featured on HGTV's House Hunters International: "Connecting in Puerto Vallarta", Season 104, Episode 3

Casa Guacamole is a very special property that sits on the hill above Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in the "Gringo Gulch" area of downtown Puerto Vallarta. A three level hacienda offering 180 degree views of Banderas Bay and the ocean from all 4 bedrooms, great room area, kitchen, dining area and pool. The 3rd floor has one bedroom and a full bath. The 2nd floor includes master bedroom/bath and 2 bedrooms - one bedroom has ensuite bath, the other has a large bathroom across the hall with double sink and separate areas for shower and water closet. All bedrooms have large balconies and king size beds, but the middle bedroom on second floor has the ability to be split into 2 twin size beds. Main level has formal dining area, media room, family room, kitchen, casual dining area, pool and fountain - "open-air" concept so few walls to delineate the space. There is a nice breeze throughout the home, but all bedrooms have air conditioning. The pool area has a large built-in 8 burner grill, lounge chairs, another dining table, as well as a fountain.

Two lovely women, Erika & Carolina, enhance your stay by coming six days a week to do housekeeping and provide complimentary breakfast cook service {excluding Sundays, holidays, and check out day}. They are also available to prepare lunch or dinner nightly for a nominal charge. We highly recommend this service, as they are as talented in the kitchen as they are pleasant. Our concierge can arrange most anything you'd like at the casa: from bartender at the pool; to massages, facials, and pedicures. He can also arrange excursions.

Casa Guacamole's location offers stunning views, as well as close proximity to great restaurants, night life, shopping and only 5 blocks to the beach/Malecón. We are on the hillside, but an inexpensive cab ride can get you to the house if walking the incline is not your thing.

Please send a message with any questions that you have about the property or services that interest you. Once booked, we will email information about car service options, our favorite local restaurants, concierge contact information, pre-stocking the casa, etc. Please let us know if you would like that information in advance.

We look forward to helping make your vacation to Puerto Vallarta the trip of a lifetime. Please see our website with same name. Casa Guacamole will transition to a B & B in January 2019, but the "entire villa" vacation rental option will remain, when available.

About Andrea Miles

We live in the midwest and travel to Puerto Vallarta as often as our schedules allow. We love the history and authentic nature of the town, and appreciate that it is not a planned resort community. After staying at resorts a number of times, we realized that we were always leaving the all-inclusive amenities to find local restaurants, and so we started staying "in town" instead. This "switch" enhanced our time in Puerto Vallarta tremendously.

Andrea Miles purchased this villa in 2016

Why Andrea Miles chose Puerto Vallarta

Casa Guacamole boasts 4 bedrooms with tip to tip views of Banderas Bay. One can walk or take a short, inexpensive cab ride to all of the unique restaurants, shops and bars that Puerto Vallarta offers. It is a truly magical hacienda style home which are becoming quite rare in the downtown area. The beach and Malecón are 5 blocks down the hill. It is nestled in a residential part of downtown among homes owned both by locals and expats. The pool area is large and gets sun, but the outdoor dining area is shaded.

What makes this villa unique

We fell in love with Casa Guacamole because of the amazing views, downtown location, and its authentic architecture. We appreciate the open-air floor plan and gracious use of space. It reminds us of an elegant tree house. The kitchen is open to the pool and has amazing views - what a great way to cook!

Wonderful wonderful wonderful

  • 5 of 5

Casa Guacamole fulfilled my fantasies! I left behind single digit temperatures and arrived in PV to a fabulously warm and inviting luxury vacation. The hosts have impeccable taste and an eye for flair and the hacienda was perfectly appointed with nothing amiss. I could not have asked for more and the host and staff were always willing to assist. There is a delicious pool with a view, an open air kitchen, dining, and lounge and if you are not taken with the water view there are incredibly beautiful interior dining and living rooms, too . And my bedroom and the bed were so lush I enjoyed a room with a water view from both my bed and from the bathroom and on New Year's eve, I watched the fireworks from my private bedroom balcony. While at Casa Guacamole, I enjoyed not only the signature guacamole and delightful breakfast and dinners (courtesy of the staff) but also a magnificent massage. Everything was to perfection! In fact, I enjoyed my stay so much and was so taken with the details, I hardly left the hacienda! I highly recommend!

I can not describe how unbelievably incredible our stay was!!! This home is more beautiful in person. I cannot thank you enough for allowing my family and friends to stay in your home Andrea. It was such an amazing 40th birthday! One I will never forget. You’re home is gorgeous. Erika and Carolina were so sweet! Breakfast was delicious every morning.

Trip to a World of Luxury and Enjoyment!

  • 5 of 5

We took a last-minute trip to Casa Guacamole in March. You would never have guessed it was last minute given the attention to detail within the Casa but also the attention to every little request I made to Andrea. She made great recommendations on menus, arranged transportation from the airport and sent me an exhaustive list of ideas, prices and booking info and then whittled it down to what would be appropriate for the ages of our girls. She gave me info on safety, exchange rates, climate, food and directed me to her Book at the Casa, which has everything you would ever need to know about the Casa and your trip (really, look at his Book the moment you arrive — it’s like having a personal concierge at your fingertips!!) . . . basically, she gave me everything I needed to know so that when my friends arrived I just needed to follow Andrea’s suggestions to look like the Hostess of the Year!

There was one beautiful moment after another while staying at the Casa. From the view, to the food, to the best linens ever possible and a kitchen stocked with appliances, serving pieces and dinnerware that rivaled that of a gourmet kitchen (not that I was cooking with Erika and Carolina cooking for us!) and daily cleaning and laundry service.

My friend and I have travelled the world for 25 years, renting villas and staying in 5-star hotels, and we agreed that the Casa was one of those special places where we would return again and again, if only to just remain in the home for our entire stay!

We had a trip of a lifetime! My best friend and I we enjoyed the town with our children and then, at times, we let them go off with Miles (whom we had hired to be our guide for the trip) while we basked in the beauty and papering of the home. While we could have easily had three times the people at the Casa, and enjoyed it just as much, we were fortunate to have just a small group of six . . .six bronzed, well rested, well fed, and very happy visitors! Our trip to Casa Guacamole was a surprise trip to a world of luxury and enjoyment where we fortuitously stepped into a moment of heaven!

It was perfect! Absolutely perfect! Writing this now makes me want to book another trip! `

Amazing Home! You want for nothing!

  • 5 of 5

We looked at the photos and video often as we were getting closer to our trip (we were so excited) and even watched the episode of House Hunters International, but nothing prepares you for how truly beautiful this home is! It is a huge "Wow" factor when you walk in the front gate. Every little detail in the decor is so beautiful. Andrea you did an amazing job, everything looks so beautiful together. Supplies are in abundance and everything works! Beds and linens are so comfortable and the views are incredible! We used the pool daily, a must have in PV weather and so relaxing. We had the bedroom at the top and my favorite part is the outdoor shower!! Yeehaa! I've never showered with doors wide open to the ocean! So cool! Still miss that shower every morning. We woke up every morning to Erika and Carolina with fresh coffee, fruit, and delicious breakfast. Such sweet ladies! Loved how they used different table settings every day. I could go on and on but I don't want to give away all the little surprises that you will find at the Casa. When we went to town we walked down but always took taxi's back up. I recommend taking a photo of the closest street signs to the Casa to show your driver, That seemed to work best for us. Enjoy!

Spectacular Views and Accommodations!

  • 5 of 5

Usually I am not lacking of words, however every previous review has described this most beautiful, unique, ethnically charming, local hacienda so vividly, that it is difficult for me to add some new details! This was my first visit to Pacific side of Mexico and Puerto Vallarta. I really did not expect this visit to be more relaxing and enjoyable than the Caribbean side. Yet, all I can say is WOW! The charm of the casa in the heart of town, uphill from Our Lady of Guadalupe is more than I ever expected. No, the photos do not give justice to the completely open air casa including the kitchen! The hills and steps at first were difficult for me, but by the end of the week, I loved walking everywhere around town! Had I returned to a resort (on the eastern coast) I would have only sat and lie all week never walking about town or doing anything different and adventurous! The pool is an added bonus that usually I do not like swimming, but it was sheer pleasure and relaxation to dip in the pool and sit poolside to read or just stare at the views when I did not want to leave the casa! I never closed my windows in my bedroom either; no bugs whatsoever! The bedrooms and bathrooms are beautiful and more than adequate. The sitting rooms and dining rooms are very tastefully decorated and comfortable. Every detail was intentional and not one missed! Erika and Carolina are very sweet, great chefs and more than agreeable to please you in every way. GREAT JOB CASA GUACAMOLE!

Like a Home Away from Home!

  • 5 of 5

Love love love! From the moment I stepped in, I knew I didn't want to leave. The entire house is impeccably decorated, and has everything you could ever want/need. The views from each floor are amazing and I loved waking up each morning to the open window breaze and the sun coming up above the water. I can't imagine staying anywhere else next time I visit puerto Vallarta with family. The two women who work there, Erika and Carolina, were so helpful and welcoming and made us feel right at home! Because we were in town it was easy to walk along the ocean and visit the great restaurants and bars in the area. As a young adult, i would not only love to return with family but would love to go back with my girlfriends. It's a great place for everyone to enjoy, relax, and explore!
