Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Jerry,

We had a wonderful time at Casa Maricielo. Leo and David cooked us many meals. Once we had one meal from them, we were hooked! Leo was great, we would give her money for groceries and she would itemize it all and bring back any change.

The house was awesome. You can’t beat the view and the staff was excellent!

Thanks for everything!! Until next time!

Perfect for our 2 families!

  • 4 of 5

There were 8 adults that stay Labor day weekend 2017. We had an amazing stay. The villa was perfectly located. A nice easy walk to the malicon. The staff were more than accommodating. Leon (female) makes the best chicken enchiladas. In fact everything she made was Great! The only negative is there is no air conditioning, and this may have been my fault for not noticing when I booked but we were all happy and would stay there again. The price is more then right for what you Get! Huge home!! 20 + people can sleep. Thank you Jerry for being there with all my questions. This was our first experience with a VRBO and would do this again!!

We Loved the Whole Experience!

  • 5 of 5

This was a great place to stay! The perfect place for a family vacation. The view and location were truly amazing and the kids loved swimming in the pool every evening after a long day of exploring Puerto Vallarta. We created great friendships with Leo (the cook) and her family. They were a source a good conversation and insight, and the meals they created were authentic and delicious. We miss being there already and will be back again soon. Thank you!

Great Home - Tremendous Staff

  • 5 of 5

We spent two weeks at Casa Marcielo beginning the end of June. You can see from all the site photos and other reviews what a tremendous home you have the opportunity to stay in.

The view is captivating and the location can’t be beaten. You get to kick back and watch Vallarta ‘happen’. And bonus: there are fireworks from the pirate ship every night. New Years has to be priceless, as you’ll see the entire Bay of Banderas light up.

But what we found was that the staff REALLY made our stay. Leonor and her team were stellar. The meals were incredible. We had local and US ‘foodie’ friends join us for meals and all were blown away. It was really stressful when Leonor asked us what we wanted the next day. Do we risk trying something new or repeat the ecstasy? Hint: roll the dice, you won’t be disappointed. Leonor truly loves cooking and her dish’s effects on you.

When the staff had Sunday’s off, we went out to Casa Kimberley and Trio. Great, but no Leonor. It just made us miss her more.

Isabel is possibly the hardest working woman you will rarely see. When we returned to the house after a day of adventure (hint: Margareta Grill is where it can start…or end), our laundry was magically transformed from a crumpled pile by the bed to a fresh, folded, lightly scented gift on your neatly-made bed. I never got tired of the folded end of the toilet paper. My wife NEVER does that.

The neighborhood also added to the experience. If you want to experience Vallarta and its culture, Casa Marcielo’s location allows for that. My wife talks to everyone, despite her unintelligible Spanglish (mine is worse, but still hope she doesn’t read this). She’s out making friends with the neighbors, their pets and exchanging Facebook info. You don’t get this opportunity with the resorts and hotels.

Last but not least, Jerry and Irene were personable, super responsive, quick with the recommendations and helpful. I would encourage people to stay with these great people and amazing property…just don’t do it on my weeks ;-)

Amazing! So happy to have stayed here!

  • 5 of 5

We searched far and wide for a place to stay with 7 people for a 5 day group vacation and we found the perfect spot! The villa is very centrally located perched atop the center of town. The views are absolutely breathtaking, not just of the ocean, but also of the jungle filled hills behind the house and surrounding area. All of the bedrooms are huge, and there is a ton of space to spread out throughout the property. The food was spectacular, we had 2 meals a day prepared for us and they were all fabulous and hassle free. Two of us celebrated our 30th birthday's while we were here which was amazing. The staff helped arrange for a boating adventure with fishing and snorkeling one day (highly recommend), and arranged for 3 masseuses to come to the house and give us all massages and manicures another day (which was very affordable) on the open air balcony overlooking the ocean. The roof pool was the perfect temperature and we spent a good deal of time there. Not one complaint, everything was perfect for us. Trying to find an excuse to come back!!!!

One thing to note as others have mentioned, the views makes it well worth it, but the house is on top of a somewhat steep hill. This was fine for our group, but note that for those not able to trek up the hill it is very easy and cheap (like 60 pesos) to get a quick cab ride up the hill from the surrounding areas.

Truly wonderful! Thanks!
