A wonderful, spacious, open plan Studio loft with 24 hour wifi connection if you bring your laptop. New air-conditioner and new, very comfortable and large bed. The absolute best location possible. You cannot be more centrally located. Passeig de Gracia is the most upmarket avenue of Barcelona with the best shops and Gaudi buildings. Casa Batllo and La pedrera are in the same avenue. Being on the corner of Plaza Catalunya, puts you in the heart of the city with the best public transport connections, the airport shuttle bus and of course, most things of interest within walking distance.
This is a wonderful gem in every way: Excellent large Studio Loft with oodles of character within an extremely elegant turn of the century modernista building, AND, with the best location possible - PASSEIG DE GRACIA/PASEO DE GRACIA.

Just look at a map and you can see immediately that an apartment on PASSEIG DE GRACIA, seconds from the famous LAS RAMBLAS is a real find! This is THE address in Barclona. The Studio Loft is part of a beautiful grand building as one would expect from the location, PASSEIG DE GRACIA - THE ADDRESS IN BARCELONA.

You enter into a wonderful marble hall with elaborate wrought iron work, stained glass and an extremely elegant staircase. You can see immediately that this is a very fine building indeed. There are two glass lifts/elevators up to the fifth floor where the spacious, very high ceilinged, Studio Loft is located in the 'Mansard' - excellent views.

As you enter you immediately notice the space of this comfortable Studio Loft with enormously high wooden cathedral style ceilings - I could easily add another floor but like the feel and character of this home as it is.
The bathroom is also spacious with bathtub, shower, bidet etc etc.
The kitchen area has all that is needed for a very comfortable stay - naturally all crockery, cutlery etc is provided.
Here you will find an oven, burners, toaster,coffee makers, electric kettle, microwave, fridge, washing machine etc etc. The Studio Loft has a warm, cosy feel and has not been furnished in a cold manner. The living area is very comfortable and cosy and naturally fully furnished with armchair, sofa, bookshelves, TV, music centre, cupboard space, dining table and chairs. The sleeping area has a new comfortable, large bed which is 2meters x 2 meters - very nice! Ample wardrobe space.

Naturally it is fully air conditioned and heated. What more can I say??This is truly an exceptional property in the absolute best position possible in town!! I consider this to be of very good value.

Just seconds from Plaza Catalunya and therefore a two minute walk to the famous Las Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter. PASSEIG DE GRACIA of course has the famous Gaudi buildings, Casa Batllo and La Pedrera PLUS all the best shops in town!! All within literally minutes of the Studio. The Location could not be bettered.

To cover some basics - Yes, all linen, towels, cutlery, crockery etc are provided. .Please bring your own face cloths though - they are personal..

The supermarket is located just a minute away and is open till 9:30pm nightly (except Sundays). I shall be pleased to answer any questions you may have regarding your stay in this lovely mediterranean city and happy to welcome you to this super Studio Loft.

Barcelona getaway

My husband enjoyed our 4 night stay in this charming studio apartment right in the heart of Barcelona. The bed was comfortable, and there were lots of towels and pillows. The apartment has great views, and the security in the lobby makes it feel very safe. It was easy for us to walk to various sites like the Gothic Quarter or Las Ramblas. The public transportation system is clean and super easy to use. We took the train to Sagrada Family and to the beach. We also took the 24 bus straight to the entrance of Parc Güell. This apartment is a comfortable oasis in the middle of the bustling city.

Wonderful stay at the heart of the city

Our time on Barcelona was only enhanced by Derek's beautiful property. As soon as we entered, we were delighted by the views and amenities the space offered. Most importantly, this location was absolutely ideal for the activities we had planned in the area, including our Flamenco show right next door and our nearby bike tour we had the following morning. We also learned later that this particular area of Barcelona is known to be one of the most sought after residential districts in the city, which made us feel more special to have stayed. I would highly recommend you book this spot if there is any availability! Thank you for everything, Derek!

Second Stay at a Great Place

Nice flat at best location to explore Barcelona. Aerobus stop to and from CDG airport less than five minutes from door. Metro stop just outside door. Right at Placa Catalunya, the center of things. I foolishly locked items in the flat when we left and the caretaker responded within five minutes to retrieve them. If it wasn't a great place, we would not have come a second time.

Perfect place in the oerfect location!

Derek's apartment could not be in a better location right off of Placa de Catalunya. All transportation modes are on this square including the Aerobus directly to and from the airport. Apartment fully equipped for relaxing and cooking light meals. Comfy bed and plenty of storage. A ton of travel books on Barcelona. Great washing machine. Gigantic grocery store across the street at Ingles. The list goes on. Thanks Derek for your quick communication and use of your great apartment apartment! Highly recommended!!

Perfect location in Barcelona

My flights were delayed and my suitcase was lost, but in spite of my travel issues, Derek and Hercules were extremely patient and kind with my later than expected arrival! Communication with them was great and helpful. The apartment itself was extremely clean. The building was easy to find, especially with Derek’s recommendation for travel from the airport. There’s plenty of shopping, restaurants, and entertainment within a very short walking distance of the building. I’d definitely stay here again!

Great apartment in a great location

A great apartment in the middle of absolutely everything. Wooden rafters and vaulted ceilings in a historic building give it tons of character. 24 hour security in the lobby made us feel safe and welcomed. We loved being able to just pop in for a little rest any time we wanted. Thanks also to both Derek and Hercles for patiently answering all our many questions about what to see and do in both Barcelona, and beyond. Great experience! We will be back.

Just as advertised

The appartment, which is a spacious studio is just as advertised. The location of the apartment is perfect. All subway lines are within a 5 minutes walk from it and the Gothic Quarter is easily accessible taking a 5 minute walk. We enjoyed the food and coffee on the terrace of the Le Cercle restaurant many times during our stay. As mentioned in other reviews the bed is very comfortable and on par with luxury hotels we have stayed at. This will be f on now on our home away from home when visiting Barcelona.

Nice stay in the Action

The apt is located well in the heart of shopping, food and attractions. Taxi stand very close for further needs. We walked everywhere. It is a very busy street but quiet at night which is nice. Apt is well equipped and like ve having a washing machine given we are on a 2 month trip. Derek is very responsive and Hercules was helpful upon check in. Would recommend

Charming

A charming loft in the heart of Barcelona. The apartment is bright, beautifully decorated, clean, and very functional. It is well designed, and full of practical items to make your stay comfortable. The A/C worked great, good water pressure in the shower, and well stocked kitchenette. The wood flooring and ceiling exudes warmth, and there are plenty of storage space. The location can't be beat with Plaza de Catalunya around the corner--one of the major meeting/transportation hubs of Barcelona. Derek is the perfect host who is accommodating and responds promptly. I would most definitely recommend this place, and hope to return very soon.

Charming and great location

Beautifully decorated, well appointed, very clean and conveniently located. Cafes, restaurants and taxi stand just outside the door. Lovely views from the large windows. A charming apartment that I will return to and have already recommended to friends and family.

Barcelona’s Best Location

We stayed six nights in this apartment and it was perfect. The location is truly exceptional. Two metro stations within a couple’s blocks walk. All the shopping, restaurants, and people watching just outside your front door. And we walked or took the easy Metro to all the tourist sites we wanted to visit. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the apartment had everything we needed. Derek was instantly responsive to any questions or needs that we had. We highly recommend this rental for those visiting Barcelona.

Why they chose this property

This is an easy question! I chose to live on Passeig de Gracia as it is 'THE' address in Barcelona. Passeig de Gracia is the most elegant and most central avenue of the city. Having lived for two years on Passeig de Gracia, loving every minute of the sheer ease of living within walking distance of everything and being in the heart of such a wonderful city, I decided to buy another apartment, this lovely studio loft in 1998. My original home on Passeig de Gracia is listing 11323 which is also on VRBO. This studio had everything I wanted: The right location, a beautiful period building, unusual ceiling features and a magnificent view of the city.

What makes this property unique

I often stay at this flat when in Barcelona. This is in the middle of everything - a perfect location. Diagonally opposite is Barcelona's main department store with an extremely well stocked supermarket with wet fish counter, butcher , greengrocer and fruiterer - all the best products opposite my studio loft. Arrival and departure is also fantastically easy, I feel spoilt! The Airbus to the airport departs and arrives just outside El Corte Ingles, the above mentioned department store - in other words, opposite the flat.
The new Apple store is just next door.
When staying here, I very rarely use transport of any kind as I can walk everywhere. In the summer months, the beach is just a 10 minute(if that) metro ride away.
