Why owner/property manager chose Happy Valley
Lovely property of forest and creek, surrounded on 3 sides by a nature park(deer, salamanders and owls are common) with half of the property being developed into a sustainable farm, from the previous trash heaps and lawns. We're dedicated to rehabbing the property into a more natural quality after decades of damaging usage. For short term guests we include a substantial breakfast with menu and informational assistance in discovering the Portland metros many sites, events, and destinations. Guests are welcome to forage in our gardens for salad and vege plates.
What makes this Studio unique
Healthy air, a superior food scene in Portland, center for alternative medicine, endless outdoor activities, and most of the amenities of a big city.

Lovely location with great outdoors
This is a quiet and restful location on a very serene property. Facilities were fine and everything is provided. FYI the room we were in was separated from the host living space by a curtain only.
what a nice place to relax and enjoy your time .. the owners are super friendly. Nice area to relax and walk around . Everything was perfect for us. You truly feel like your home but you have your own private area.
Thank you Robert.
Would stay again
We were very comfortable and charmed by our accommodations and our hosts. Thank you so much Don and Mary!
Very nice guests, who extended our string of alternative medicine professionals to over 20 acupuncturists and chiropractors, and shows the growing importance in Oregon of alternative medicine. Quiet and clean. Love to have them back.
Thank you so much for everything!
What a lovely place and great hosts.
We loved Don and Mary's place and it perfectly fit our needs. The property is what it looks like in the photos - creekside and peaceful. Don and Mary are fantastic hosts and will treat you like family!
Very nice couple , here for Pickathon. Except for being jealous of their enjoyable musical days, we loved having them. Strong recommendation for hosts.
Many of the above activities are actually 20 minutes away, but include so many options we broke the 15 rule. With a 20 minute drive to downtown Portland, there are thousands of restaurants & food trucks, live theatre, opera, symphonies and outdoor summer concerts, Karaoke, music festivals, live and taped music clubs and endless rivers and streams for water sports, as well as several state parks and one national park close by. Mt Hood is within a 50 minute drive and has skiing on it's glacier 365 days a year, as well as wilderness areas and mountain lakes. The pacific ocean is almost 2 hours away, but there are three major rivers within 20 minutes, the Columbia, Willamette and Clackamas.
