“The location is unbelievable — like a mountain retreat in town!” — Recent guest on other platforms
Welcome to The Old Barn, a truly one-of-a-kind retreat just minutes from downtown Portland. Tucked into the woods, this special space feels like a peaceful forest hideaway, yet the very best of the city is only a short drive away. It’s the perfect blend of seclusion, comfort, and convenience. Once you arrive, though, you may not want to leave.
The space
The Old Barn is full of character, creativity, and charm. Its eclectic design, warm atmosphere, and unique setting make it unlike anything else nearby. Surrounded by trees and nature, it offers the feeling of a mountain retreat while being just about 10 minutes from downtown Portland, Nike headquarters, the Rose Garden, the Japanese Garden, the Arboretum, Council Crest, and more.
Wake each morning to birdsong and enjoy the enchanting view from the deck. Keep an eye out for owls, eagles, deer, coyotes, and flying squirrels. It’s a nature lover’s dream. And yes… despite the wild feel of the place, there are still no elephants.
Inside, the comfort continues. The master bed is a luxurious king with a remote that allows you to raise the head or feet, plus a massage feature for extra relaxation. There is also a desk area with a foot massager, making it easy to unwind, work, or simply enjoy a little extra comfort during your stay.
Guest access
Guests have private access to the entire Old Barn, including the beautiful outdoor deck and hot tub, all reserved exclusively for you. The space is designed to feel peaceful and private.
Please note that there is another guest unit located down the hill, approximately 500 feet away, and that area is reserved for those guests only. For everyone’s privacy and out of respect for nearby neighbors, please do not wander beyond the designated area.
Other things to note
For the best hot tub experience, please rinse off before entering. To operate the jets, only use the blue spinning button to turn them on and off. The controls are sensitive and can be accidentally changed if other buttons are pressed.
For safety, please do not use the hot tub alone, avoid alcohol or drugs while using it, and limit hot tub sessions to 15 minutes at a time.
Pets are welcome with a one-time $58 pet fee per pet. For everyone’s safety and comfort, pets must be leashed whenever they are outside the unit.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

This place is amazing. Location is great as it’s close to everything but feels like ur away in a retreat. The hot tub is an excellent feature. Bed is very comfy. Host was very kind and communicated well!
This was our third stay at the Old Barn and it remains one of our favorite Portland getaways! The bed is so comfortable, the hot tub on the deck is magical, the baby grand is a delight to play and the seclusion is so peaceful! Thanks again! We’ll be back!
Very easy to find. The YouTube video was a nice touch to find the home and the amenity’s. Will definitely look at brining more of our family back here. Loved it.
Wonderful stay at this location. Clean, accessible and well stocked. The hot tub was great. Beautiful views from the deck and all around the property. The owners were so helpful. We'd love to stay there again.

This person was a joyful day Brightener. Expressed appreciation through communication and cleanliness. Followed all the procedures that we ask of our guests. It was a pleasure to have a bright, positive , guest to enjoy our space. You are most welcome ✨anytime. Thank you 🙏
The host was friendly and accommodating. The location is great. There were a few things in the house that could be easily updated or improved that would make it better for guests, mainly the kitchen equipment.
Place was clean and cozy. Host was very informative for check in process. Views were great to wake up to in the morning and hot tub was a good relaxer after a good day of exploring. Would definitely stay here again.
It's unique. Very nice and quiet and private. The bed is ectremely comfortable. And the hot tub on the deck was really fun. I loved the open barn doors at the entry but especially by the bed.
Secluded location just miles from Portland. Quirky place with tons of charm and positive energy. Comfortable bed and lovely upper deck with great view. Kitchen could use more counter space and a proper oven if you’re planning to do any cooking but overall we enjoyed it!
Was a great spot to just be away with my husband. Didn't have to waste time driving far. Hot tub small but did it's job. Cute little place well stocked and very unique! :)
it was a great little spot. The property management had good communication and even the best check in a little early. It was mostly private. And it was a nice little birthday getaway. thank you
I liked the place. Was a super private place in the woods. Quiet and relaxing. Inside stairs were super steep but it was fine. Just don't get super drunk or high before you climb them and use the outside stairs if you feel it's safer. Had a wonderful time while on vacation in the Portland area

Yes the review about noises in the wall upstairs is true, but didn't bother us.. we had a good time.. my only suggestion would be a tension rod and curtain or blinds in the big open bathroom window to help make the girls more comfortable.
We enjoyed our stay at the Old Barn! We had close access to everything, and it was nice to come "home" to a quite and relaxing place. I'm giving only a 4 star rating because it's lacking bathroom facility on second floor with the master bedroom.
