Wonderful Start to Summer!

Our family of four found great comfort and joy staying in this property. It had everything we needed for exploration and rest, cooking and dining out, decks with fantastic views, and space to just be together. We'd return to the property in a skinny minute and highly recommend.

Nice views

The property is nice with an excellent view. It is a bit away from things which my father enjoyed. There were a few spots I found needed some extra cleaning and I fixed a few things while I was there. Just seemed like no one had stayed there in a while. Still a lovely little place.

Quiet weekend right on the beach

Awsome views! Quiet and relaxing. We came to find a place to live as we are relocating to wilmington. Note: Light switch for living room needs replacing.

Gorgeous views without having to leave condo

We loved everything about our stay at the Moonlit Mermaid. The condo was fully stocked with everything we needed for our trip. Literally the only things we needed were food and clothes. The view was absolutely tremendous and we loved waking up every morning to a stunning sunrise. The beds and couches were very comfortable and the location was perfect.

We enjoyed our stay this week. One thing we wish we knew before renting. Its not meant for a larger SUV to park. We drove a Jeep Wagoneer and barely made it in the allotted space. But if anyone was in the street parking spots, we would not have been able to get in or our.

Great oceanfront condo

My family and I enjoyed our stay. The condo unit was well appointed and had great amenities including beachfront location, amazing balcony with unencumbered views, covered parking, beach chairs/toys, and rec center with indoor pool. While this section of the beach isn’t ideal for swimming, my kids loved playing on the Coquina Outcropping. The only negative was cleanliness. The unit was well overdue for a deep clean. Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend.

Overall this condo was very, very cozy and had everything you need for a comfortable beach vacation. Bed in master bedroom was very comfortable. My complaints would be that the master bathroom & flooring throughout the condo needs updating. The jacuzzi tub had three panels on the outside, one of which was falling off and grouting around the tub was stained from mold, this was very unattractive. Missing from the master bedroom is a closet to hang cloths.

Terrible smell in the condo-musty/mildrew, especially in master bathroom. Jet tub was disgusting!

I wrote a very long review on the condo website. Terribly disappointed in the way the condo actually looked compared to what the pics show is the listing. And the smell of cleanliness of the condo was AWFUL!!! That place needs a major cleaning and figuring out where the mold/mildrew/musty smell is coming from!! My guess would be the gross master jet bathtub. It is terribly gross!!

We would have done everything we could to resolve them immediately so that you could enjoy the home. - The cleaning service confirmed that no odor was detected after your departure, but we take your feedback seriously and will ensure a thorough inspection. - The master jet bathtub, which has a light tan tint, is cleaned with a bleach solution between guests, and we have verified that it matches the listing photos. - We would like to note that no issues were reported by previous guests or the guests who stayed the following weekend. - We have addressed potential maintenance issues with the building’s maintenance team, and they confirmed no water leaks or necessary repairs during your stay. A minor leak was fixed in a nearby condo after your departure.We have worked very hard to provide a clean and comfortable place for guests to enjoy and will continue to do all we can to provide the best possible stay for our guests!

Best location and view!

This is our third time staying in the condos along Kure beach so we have some experience with the area and rentals. This was our favorite location to stay so far. It’s so beautiful located right in front of the mossy rocks. The condo was beautiful and comfy. We felt everything was very clean. We needed to communicate with management about staying a extra day and when we first got there about the key and they always answered right away and helped us out quickly. So, also we felt very happy with the service given by evolves management. My one disappointment and critique is that the tub is outdated and not really useful. I was excited to use it for my 18 month old but by the time I could get enough water to fill the tub 1/4 of the way the water would be cold and just didn’t seem to workout how it should. Otherwise, a perfect stay!

Good location

My friend and I stayed here for a long weekend. Prior to checking in, we tried to reach the property manager, the person whose number and email was noted on the listing. Three times, and this person never responded. Basic questions which could’ve been answered in a few minutes were not. This wasn’t the way we wanted to start our weekend Upon arrival we noticed that the place was incredibly dusty and the dishes were dirty. We had to spray down the place for cleanliness as well as clean the dishes again. The uptick, this place is in a great location and the place is however the owner and property manager need to take better care of ensuring they are available to the guest, making sure the place isn’t dusty, and please make sure all the dishes are clean. It was kind of gross. While the listing states you can use the fireplace, you cannot. That was a selling point for us and it was a great disappointment to find out that we couldn’t use it. There is a queen bed and one room and two twin beds in the other. If you’re going with two couples, that likely won’t work. And… There’s only one shower in the place so 1 1/2 bath

Owner's Response: "The description of the condo states and shows photos that there is a king bedroom and a room with two twin beds. There's one full bath and one half bath. The cleaning service has had a consistent 5-star rating, and we've forwarded your comment to them so that this issue isn't repeated."

Nice place

The place is nice and clean and right in the beach. This is our second year staying there but, unfortunately will be the last. There was a moody/mildew smell that was there the first year, pretty sure it’s coming from the main bathroom. We’ll. The same smell was there this year, we had to buy candles to disguise the smell. Other than that place is nice. Just unfortunate this hasn’t been fixed as it’s pretty noticeable. Thanks

Very comfortable stay

This place is very comfortable to stay in. It has all the items you would need. It was very clean when we arrived. It is on the 2nd floor + ground so really third floor. Found out there was an elevator after bringing our bags up, but used it for the departure :-). The view is definitely nice.

Had a wonderful time. Just a few thoughts

We enjoyed our time so much. Only feedback to make the stay better would be a TV in the master bedroom, replace screen door in living room, replace bulbs in kitchen as they are blinking. Remove stainless steel table to allow for easier movement.

Excellent!

It was such a wonderful experience. The condo was in a great location, with Fort Fisher aquarium and Southport ferry only 1/2 mile away. The beach was easily accessible, the balcony was so restful. It was a calm and peaceful place! Away from the touristy area but still close enough. Would stay here again!

Just what we needed.

Thank you for sharing your home with us. It was perfect for our week away. Beautiful views of the beach, perfect to sit on the patio or walk a few steps to the shoreline and watch the sunrise. Great beach spot!

Loved the spot on the beach! The rock outcropping makes beautiful waves just don’t slip while you investigate the tide pools. We liked how far down Kure Beach this was, away from the busy sections. Great spacious kitchen and condo with everything that we needed. She had a helpful binder of good eats and things to do nearby. Loved the big balcony! Only thing we’d change was we wish there was an overhead fan in the master bedroom.

Updated, clean & comfortable

Pricey but worth the cost considering location on the ocean and beach! Clean and comfortable with modern decor. Only negatives are the beach equipment not in great shape (we brought our own anyway) and deck furnishings not completely comfortable (high stools and table). Kitchen is beautiful and well stocked - we cooked our entire stay, saving eating out money and time. Love that you can watch family on the beach while sitting inside or on deck. We had a lovely stay and would select this rental again with no reservations! Oh, and bring your records for the record player hooked up to whole house audio (which also connects via internet music sources) and don’t forget there is an elevator which is right around the corner from the front door (for transporting your vacation packings)!

Perfect Stay. Amazing View!

We reserved this to get together with some family. The condo was very clean and nicely decorated, fully equipped. The view was stunning and we enjoyed sunrise, sunset and a few nights with the full moon on the water as well. It was also peaceful and quiet in the area and the beach is very pretty. The only item which might be nice to have updated on the description is it is a 2 BR and 1.5 Bath (not 2). That would have been nice to know. Otherwise it was perfect and the host support was very friendly and helpful.

Nice Quiet Winter Oceanview Get-Away and Little FYIs

The Carport is very small. Anything bigger than a CX-5 may be tight. The VRBO listing neglected to mentioned these things: the condo is on 2nd floor above carport, so 2 flights of stairs. There is an elevator but didn't find out about it until after unloading. Found it when looking for the beach access.There is no beach access from the condo balcony. Beach access is between two condo units, not a big deal and felt safer since no one had access to our balcony and less sand to track into condo. 2nd bedroom only had a half bath, listing says 2 bath, should be 1 1/2 bath, non-issue for us since it was just the two of us. If we had brought our adult daughters, it would have been a little light since they would have to shower in the master bath. This condo is small, but clean and well laid out. An obvious woman's touch -- nice decorating, jacuzzi tube (which I didn't use, concern for mold in jets, just me). The fridge had slight smell of fish we learned to live with. The WiFi Spectrum info had a typo but miraculously figured it out, said 69 was actually 59. December was so quiet, very few people on the beach, spectacular view of the ocean from living room and master bedroom. So much nature, birds, dolphins to see. Enjoyed the sound of the ocean when sleeping. Wouldn't want to swim this area in warmer month due to lots of rocks in the shallow areas. Beach is eroding terribly on this part of Kure, lots of sandbags to help stop it, felt bad for these condo owners. One more thing, after listing the check-in paperwork said vacationers were not allowed to use the fireplace, a little disappointed, but still enjoyed the 3-day stay. Overall, very nice quiet winter get-away for a couple at a reasonable price. We checked out the little town of Southport via the 30-minute ferry which crosses Cape Fear River which was a "boatload" of fun. Southport is charming and has nice little shops and good restaurants!
