Perfect week at this perfect condo !
Wonderful Condo!! So comfortable and incredibly well equipped . The owners were a delight to deal with and so very accommodating. We have stayed at a few different houses/condos in same area and this was our favorite. Beautiful sunsets from patio. Thank you Sutton and Anne for a wonderful week at the Mauna Kea. We will definitely return.
A beautiful condo in a lovely area
We thoroughly enjoyed our Thanksgiving vacation in this condo. The lanai is lovely -- the perfect place to watch the sunsets and the neighborhood is nice for walking and running. It is minutes away from the best beach on the island, The Mauna Kea, and we loved using the facilities there. It is a very quiet and comfortable condo. Thank you for sharing.
Great view & well appointed unit
This property is one of several we have stayed in this development. The owner is easy to work with, prompt in his communication and maintains a beautiful unit. I especially enjoyed having a BBQ grill available en suite.
Thanks Sutton and Anne for allowing us to stay in your stylishly decorated, (bravo to your decorator), perfectly equipped, totally spotless, & refreshingly modern yet comfortable Kumulani condo. Just when we thought it could not get any better, there was a sunset! Such a great spot to watch the Kohala coastal sunsets! Everything about the condo was primo! We definitely hope to be back...
The Hickey Family
It was wonderful and very convenient!
Clean and comfortable
Thanks for letting us stay at your beautiful condo we all enjoyed ourselves immensely. The condo is well equipped and the kitchen is beautiful. We watched the sunset almost every night and a couple times down at the hotel with a delicious Mai Tai. Thanks again
For convenience we like all 4 spots at the Mauna Kea. The Hau Tree (at the beach) serves a great lunch when you are at the beach and a great casual dinner and the 3rd Hole serves a great lunch. We have eaten at the copper bar and enjoyed that as well with live music and hula dancing. Manta is a formal dining experience, get there early the front row outside tables are first come, first served. Beautiful and romantic. The next closest area is the marina, 5 minutes north. Café Pesto is decent. Upstairs in back is the Kohala Burger, they have local grass fed beef (really good) but we usually order the fish taco salad (comes with fresh fish caught that day), our favorite lunch. Across the street is a shack , Hale Da I’a Da Fish House, a fish monger. They get fresh fish every morning from local fisherman. The Uku or grey snapper is one of our favorites to take home and BBQ. They also have the best poke, seaweed salad and Bento boxes and poke boxes during lunch! Five minutes south is a cool small market in Puako. They have sandwiches, salads, salsas and goodies. 10 minutes south is the Mauna Lani. They have a nice Foodland market, a great vegan lunch spot Under The Bodhi Tree, a standard Ruth Chris Steak House and a decent sushi place, Monstera. The Mauna Lani also has a good casual spot for on the beach and the Fairmont (next to Mauna Lani) has a casual spot called the Sandbox on the beach. 15 minutes south is Waikaloa , the only places we go there is to Roy’s and the Island Gourmet market which sells local Parker Ranch new York strip steaks and has decent produce. Up country 6 miles is Waikaloa Village where many locals live. There is a great Italian restaurant there, Pueo’s Osteria. 20 minutes north up country is Waimea. We love this town. Farmer’s market on Saturdays and Wednesdays. The best restaurant on the island Merriman’s and another of our favorites is Red Water. BeerHaus has great IPA's and good food also. There is good pizza, sushi and Village Burger in a shopping center that has local grass fed beef. We also go to Waimea Butcher for local meat. If you drive to Hawi we like both the Bamboo House and Sushi Rock. Make sure to try the beef tenderloin Bombay Roll at Sushi Rock, our favorite. Kona is 40 minutes south. We usually stop at Costco for drinks and snacks after we arrive. Then into town for lunch at Ultimate Burger in a shopping center or to Make Your Own Roll, super good sushi at local’s prices (hard to find). We also go to Kona Butcher for local meat.
