Enjoy your own private escape to Mount Desert Island at this two-bedroom Seal Cove home, a welcoming, family-friendly retreat with a large lawn, a wood stove, and a fantastic location on the edge of Acadia National Park.
Beautifully situated on a tree-lined lot just one mile from the shores of Seal Cove, this single-level home is ideal for families and outdoor enthusiasts. You'll be two miles from Seal Cove Pond, two miles from the eastern edge of Acadia, six miles from the Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse, and 17 miles from Bar Harbor.
The interior living space is open and charming, offering hardwood floors, a wood-burning stove, and country-style furnishings. After a day of hiking and fishing, you can relax with a novel in the rocking chair, play a board game with your children, or browse the WiFi as you recline on the sofa.
Prepare pancakes with fresh Maine blueberries each morning in the full kitchen, which features abundant cabinet space, a dishwasher, and a gas range. The eat-in dining table has ample seating for six.
When you're not riding your bikes on the historic carriage roads of Acadia, you and your family can play on the grassy lawn and admire the colorful autumn leaves on the surrounding trees. Each night, choose a movie or two to watch on the flatscreen cable TV and Blu-ray/DVD players.
This two-bedroom, one-bathroom cottage will sleep a maximum of six people. You'll find a queen bed and a futon in the master bedroom, a twin-over-double bunkbed in the guest room, and a sleeper sofa in the living room. Additional amenities include a washer/dryer in the bathroom and a stereo system. The family dog is also welcome to join you for an additional nightly fee.
Whether you're interested in hiking, whale-watching, or gorgeous fall foliage, you'll find it all on Mount Desert Island. Spend a morning walking Acadia's Ocean Path, an iconic stretch of shoreline 23 miles east, before grabbing breakfast at Cafe This Way in Bar Harbor. And each evening, you'll find no better sunset view than the one from Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse on the island's southern tip.
