About the property

3-Bedroom, 3-Bath Cottage Home with Hill Country Views and Loads of Charm!

Premiere Location! We are 3 minutes from Camp Lucy (on the same street), 10 minutes to Downtown Dripping, and super-easy access to all the other venues in town: only minutes to Ma Maison, Vista West Ranch, Cricket Hill, and more. Close to Deep Eddy Distillery, the wineries, and breweries as well. But it feels like a world away! Situated on 40 acres, we are The Alexander at Creek Road in Dripping Springs. This brand-new home has it all! Vintage feel with all the amenities: beautiful kitchen with dining area, living room with leather sofas and big TV, as well as electric fireplace. Three lovely bedrooms: two are private, with queen beds, dressers, TV's, closets and their own, full baths. The third is the Bunk Room: it has 1 full bed plus 2 more full beds, which are bunked. It, too, has its own full bath. Each is beautifully tiled, with full tubs, showers, and --- so cute. There's a full laundry-room, too! And the back yard is fabulous! Outside that great kitchen is a great barn-style pavilion! It has outdoor dining with buffet counter, outdoor seating, a barbecue pit (with burners, too), a warming drawer, and ceiling fans. It also has lots of privacy, and a lovely water feature. We've never seen anything like it --- and we think you'll love it, too! The adorable kitchen is equipped with fridge, microwave, stove, and oven, and is fully-stocked with pots, pans, dishware, flatware, glassware and more. It also features a Coffee Bar, stocked with a Keurig coffee-maker and all the goodies to get you started for the day!

The front porch is so pretty. It's a big, southern porch, that runs the length of the home. Big ceiling fans and white rocking chairs let you relax and take in the country views of the pond and hills!

Easy access from 290 means we're in the country, but you can get "downtown" quickly, with dining, entertainment, shopping, and more: Pedernales Falls State Park, the wineries, Johnson City, Blue Hole, and all the hill country events. The sweet town of Wimberley is also close by, with multiple restaurants and shops. The charming town of Fredericksburg is also a big attraction, along with hiking at Enchanted Rock. Want big action? Austin is about a half-hour drive with all the nightlife! As for the accommodations, it's not your ordinary place; craftsman style, lovely linens, hand-picked décor, attention to the details that will make you just plain happy. You'll see!

We have other listings on this property through VRBO as well! Several cottages and suites include #817593, #817896, #785910, and #892497.

About Michelle Alexander

I'm a Texas girl! And although my hubby, Matt (of more than a couple of decades) is from California, it didn't take him long to find his heart here. And we fell in love with this beautiful spot in the country! We've always enjoyed all kinds of "hosting", and we love sharing this with others. This place is a labor of love, and our guests can feel that.

Michelle Alexander purchased this cottage in 2014

Why Michelle Alexander chose Dripping Springs

We chose this property for so many reasons. And when we saw this spot, with the wet-weather tanks, beautiful oaks, and hill-country views, we couldn't wait to get here. There's nothing I enjoy more than morning coffee on the porch with an amazing sunrise or an afternoon on the swing under a big oak. And Dripping Springs is so charming, along with nearby artsy Wimberley just down the way. Such a neat, relaxed getaway from busy, groovy Austin!

What makes this cottage unique

You can enjoy the peace of the countryside, with the ability to be "in-town" in 10 minutes or in the big city of bustling Austin in just over a half-hour. Wimberley is just minutes away as well! As for the accommodations, it's not your ordinary place; hardwood floors, lovely linens, hand-picked décor, attention to the details that will make you just plain happy. You'll see!

Awesome Property

  • 5 of 5

Stayed for a girls' weekend for 7 and the property was awesome. Adorably decorated and well appointed. Having 3 bathrooms was awesome. Loved walking the property. And spent lots of time on the outdoor patio which was awesome

Owners were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Easy drive to restaurants/wineries in Driftwood and Dripping Springs. The barn is gorgeous. Would definitely stay again.

Spring Break in the Country Home

  • 4 of 5

The Country Home is a very comfortable place with a stellar front porch. The layout efficiently utilizes the space especially considering there are three bedrooms each with a full bath. We were worried about 1000 sf but it is not an issue. Between the large dining table, the two couches, and several chairs, there is more than enough places to hang out inside. Outside seating is almost unlimited with the five rocking chairs on the front porch and all of the seating in the "barn". The home has a well equipped kitchen although we did not take advantage of anything except the Keuring and the refrigerator. There are four, individual, ductless heating/air conditioning units in the home each controlled independently. There is one for each bedroom and well as one in the living area. The home has DirectTV with a television in each bedroom, the front room, and one out in the "barn". The "barn' is just outside the kitchen door and it is a covered area that is closed in on two sides. It is outfitted with a large patio table and bench seating with cushions. Additionally there was a large selection of DVD's to choose from. It is a short drive into Dripping Springs and the turnoff from 290, when headed back from Dripping Springs at night, is well marked with a flashing sign and easy to find.

There are several other units on the property and they are in fairly close proximity to the Country Home. You can only see one of the units from the front porch. We were concerned about privacy but it was not an issue during our stay. You can hear the traffic on 290 from the front porch but not at all inside the home.

It is a very comfortable place to stay with a great location to check out Austin to the east and Johnson City to the northwest.

A great country retreat!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the Country House over Thanksgiving and it was wonderful! Michelle and Matt have a beautiful property that is just far away enough to feel secluded, but close enough to a nice HEB and other modern amenities. The house was exactly as pictured, had plenty of kitchen necessities and overall very cozy. We had a great time and would definitely return!!

A wonderful Thanksgiving!

  • 5 of 5

Our family is from Austin but we still wanted to "get away" for the holiday. This cottage is so incredibly charming. We had extended family stay with us as well and it accommodated all of us very comfortably. We loved hanging outside in "the barn" at night and our dog loved the trail on the property. The owners were beyond friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this cottage as a perfect escape and we will be back!

We love the peace and solitude here. Our closest neighbors are the deer and bunnies you might see in the evenings! There may be other folks here, too, so we expect everyone to enjoy the peace and allow others to do the same. Also, this is the country! Watch for deer or other animals on the roadways, especially at dusk. While the road to our entry is paved, our driveway is not, so it may become muddy in very wet weather. But you can pull right up to the sidewalk to get to the cottage! Bring those practical shoes if you want to do some walking on this acreage. And Dripping Springs is a good place to sport those cowboy boots!
