About Bill Michels
We are a Twin Cities architect and artist who are always thrilled to spend family time in Duluth. The House and Cottage on Park Point is our little place away from home to do that. We have enjoyed remodeling and updating the house and cottage and turning it into a comfortable home with a relaxing livable atmosphere. It's given us the opportunity to do something a little different that we can share with everyone else.
Bill Michels purchased this House in 2005
Why Bill Michels chose Park Point
The beach is like nothing else in this part of the country, it's like being at the ocean. The water is warm enough to swim in, you can walk forever, and the infamous MN mosquito's are practically non existent because of the breezes off the lake. It's certainly a bonus to be a 15 minute walk down the beach to Canal Park or a short drive to the North Shore of Lake Superior.
What makes this House unique
We are just a bit unique in that there are two units we rent together. Put the kids in one or even grandma if she prefers to have her own quarters. Sometimes it's just a fight to see who gets the cottage! And of course the location- beach, Canal Park, Lake Superior, the North Shore, restaurants...!

Very nice cabin near town. Our group had fun.
House is cozy and smaller cabin worked well for sleeping additional people. Would stay again!
Very comfortable, modernized space that feels like home
This is a very comfortable, modernized space that feels like home. Our family enjoyed the lake access. Having a space for my daughter who was graduating to spend time with the 11 of us who stayed there was a huge blessing. We will definitely book the quaint house and cottage on Park Point next time we are visiting our daughter in Duluth and need space for a crowd! Thank you so much!
Perfect for family gathering for May 5th Wedding in Superior WI
This place could not have been more perfect for family to gather from Western New York, Ohio, Colorado and Washington State for my grandson's wedding in Superior. The weather even cooperated which is always a concern in Early May. The fire pit , walks over the sand dunes to the beach with ice and debris from snow storm a few weeks earlier was enjoyed by all. Meals, conversations and games around the dining room table provided treasured memories.
We enjoyed both the bunk house and charming home. The weather on Saturday gave us the opportunity for picture taking of each family of 4 generations. They took place in the back yard with the background of the beautiful green evergreens. This place was the gathering spot for those staying at the house and cottage and for those who lived or stayed in Superior ranging from 2 - 82! Thank you for the great hospitality. Now back to reality - teaching, school, Salmon Fishing in Bristol Bay AK and just plain old tasks that need to be accomplished,
Wonderfully whimsical cottage and cabin, perfect for a girls getaway weekend!
Everything was comfy cozy with plenty of gathering space for us. Beach was just a short walk from the Cottage. Location was great as well. We would definitely stay here again!
Loved our stay
My family spent 4 days here. We could not have been happier with the house.
Fun times in the cabin
The cabin was very comfortable and well equipped. The main house has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a loft with a bed upstairs. I took my elderly grandmother with us and was very pleased that the separate one story cabin in the back of the main cabin had a bathroom so she did not have to climb stairs. The back cabin is charming with 2 bedrooms, living room, bathroom, kitchenette and foyer area. The location is close to restaurants, stores and entertainment. The back yard leads to Lake Superior which is amazing. If going in March or mid April to explore Lake Superior in the yard be sure to bring high snow boots as your step will be buried in snow 1/2 way up to your knees . The owner made sure the pathways to the house and back cabin were clear of snow. There are tons of boardgames and books for your pleasure. The tv has about 5 viewing channels and a cabinet full of DVD's. The owner is very easy to get a hold of. We enjoyed our stayed and made wonderful memories. P.S. Most all houses in the area are two stories and it would be difficult to find one that has 2 bedrooms and a bathroom downstairs if bringing along elderly people which made this cabin ideal for us.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of the House and Cottage, it is nice to be able to offer the cottage to our guests that are of less mobile, I'm happy to hear that you were able to take advantage of the easy access of the cottage.
