Charming historic bungalow built in 1917 in the Carolina Place neighborhood of Downtown Wilmington. A quaint area which offers beautiful tree-lined streets, front porches, sidewalks for walking your dog, pushing a stroller, or simply out for an evening stroll, and a beautiful mix of older and thoughtfully restored homes.

On more than one occasion, I have been told our neighborhood is reminiscent of where "Gilmore Girls" meets "The Andy Griffith Show."

(Interesting tidbit: 2 doors down is the home featured on the former TV show "One Tree Hill"...a VERY popular show filmed in Wilmington with a huge fan base. The home 2 doors down is the home where the show's main character Lucas Scott [played by Chad Michael Murray] lived in the fictitious town of Tree Hill!

* 2 Full Bedrooms - 2 FULL Bathrooms (primary bath includes a clawfoot bathtub and rain showerhead)
* Queen Beds in each bedroom
* Parking for 2 vehicles located in the rear of the home, right at the back door! No fighting for street parking like many of the neighbors.

* And character that only a 100-year old home has!
* Arrive as late as you wish on check-in day due to an electronic lock system on the back door. No one needs to be present!! Put your mind at ease that you will have your very own unique door lock and alarm code that is unable to be used again after you check-out.

We cannot stress this enough: Pets are WELCOME and NEVER A PET FEE OR DEPOSIT!!!!!! Our pets are family and we wouldn’t dream of traveling without them. We furnished our home with pets in mind - from the fenced-in front yard, to the minimal carpeting throughout the home, down to the leather living room furnishings. There is even a portable pet gate and doggie bowls available if needed.

So, whether you are visiting Wilmington for the beach, golfing, shopping, antiquing, exploring, fishing, biking, attending a wedding, visiting UNC-W, or just to get away from it all....this home is the perfect location for your Wilmington stay! We hope you will love our home as much as we do!!!!!!

Carolina Cozy Cottage was the perfect place for us to stay with our pup. The home is comfortable and in a great location! We enjoyed walking in the neighborhood and how convenient it was to get to everything we wanted to do. There were even supplies for our pup which was great since we forgot his water and food bowl!5/5 stars! I highly recommend this truly cozy cottage.

Great weekend getaway!

This was a great property in a great location. It was really cute and had everything we needed. The porch was great for relaxing and people watching. All of the neighbors said hi when they walked by and the little dog next door was cute and friendly with our dog. The location was very convenient to the downtown/ riverfront area.

Family Trip

We are a couple who LOVES Wilmington and restoring/renovating historic homes. This is one of the many reasons we fell in love with Wilmington many, many moons ago. We moved from the Durham/Raleigh area and are working hard to finish our "forever home" in Downtown Wilmington.

Outside of renovation and hospitality, we are foodies, love the beach, entertaining with friends and family, creating cocktails and taking our rescue doggie MaciGrey any and everywhere with us! This is why we NEVER charge pet fees or pet deposits for our rentals.

Why they chose this property

This neighborhood is idyllic! It is full of thoughtfully restored historic homes, tons of sidewalks to walk the doggies or push the stroller and front porches where neighbors sip cocktails in the afternoons or coffee in the mornings all while waving to everyone that passes by.

What makes this property unique

The statement that "Gilmore Girls" meets "The Andy Griffith Show" resonates and you will feel that vibe when you arrive. And, I have had more than one Guest say that exact thing.

The home where the lead character (Lucas) from One Tree Hill is located 2 doors up Wrightsville Ave.

When I walked inside for the first time, the home had not been stripped to its studs. It still retaining the original windows, floors, interior French doors, cracked and wayward plaster walls, wood doors and hardware. When I walked outside onto the porch, there were neighbors across the street introducing themselves to me.....I knew this was the place!!! I've kept it true to its heritage as much as possible.

Pet Friendly! Two Full Bedrooms....Two FULL Baths (one with a claw foot bathtub and rain shower) as well as Parking for TWO vehicles located in the back right at the back door! No fighting for street parking like many of the neighbors! Sheets and towels are provided and included in the rate (There is not an additional charge as many other homes). 2 porches, white picket fence and beautiful landscaping add more character to the home!

My home is still a work in progress, as most 100-year old homes are; so, please excuse its quirks and imperfections. Thank you for your love of older homes!!
