My husband and I spent a long weekend here and could not have been happier with the cabin. This is the Goldie Locks of vacation rentals; everything was just right. We felt right at home and had everything we needed. The weather was overcast and rainy, which made for cozy mornings and evenings by the pellet stove. That didn't stop us from taking the canoe out a few times and even jumping off the dock for a brisk dip in the lake. Our dog had a great time exploring the grounds, and we also enjoyed watching the eagles fish. The view was spectacular, the natural lighting was incredible, and we loved preparing meals in the open kitchen. This is truly a stunning, secluded spot, and we are so grateful that Todd and Lucia are willing to share it. We hope to return for many more memorable stays. Thank you for a wonderful time!
I just returned from a stay at this Lake Sutherland rental and I must say, it surpassed my expectations! The cabin was immaculate (I didn't even see any dust while I was there!) and was very well-equipped; you name it and they had it! From the standard stuff like pots/pans and linens to the not-so-standard like an electric wok, soda stream, food processor, pressure cooker and toaster oven. There were many nice extras too like condiments in the fridge and a first aid kit in the bathroom; there were even some new toothbrushes, in case you forgot your own.
And I can't forget to mention the incredible view of the lake from this property! The cabin is surrounded by trees on three sides and the back side faces the lake. The beautiful deck wraps around two sides of the cabin and hosts an outdoor gas grill, a picnic table and four Adirondack chairs for lounging. Beneath the deck is a storage unit that holds many extras like life jackets, fishing poles, tackle, an inflatable kayak and oars for the two-person canoe and much more!
The cabin is also perfectly situated on the northern side of the Olympic National Park. It was the perfect base location for exploring Hurricane Ride, the Hoh Rainforest, Sul Doc Falls, Marymere Falls, Lake Crescent, the towns of Port Townsend, Chimacum, Sequim and Forks; all of these were within one hour of the cabin, with the exception of Port Townsend- that may have been just over an hour, can't quite remember.
Also, I must mention the very hospitable cabin owners; they are absolutely terrific! Communication with them was great; all my questions were answered very quickly. They were even kind enough to drop off a hairdryer at the cabin prior to our arrival!
If you are looking for a clean, well-equipped, affordable rental with killer views and surrounded by nature, this is the place!
The cabin was amazing! Loved using the pellet stove at night while watching movies. The view from deck was better than the pictures! Cabin felt very welcoming, would pick to stay here again in the future!
Love the location, the cabin was awesome, the weather could not have been better! Everything we needed (and more) was available at the cabin. Plush towels, soft sheets, all supplies provided. The house felt lived in, like the owners just stepped out and let us stay for the week. Lucia was always quick to answer my texts, and provided great info about the amenities and the locale. LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!
This cabin was exceptional! My family loved everything about this place. Private with amazing views. We especially enjoyed the SUP's, canoe, life jackets in all sizes (even ones to fit our little kids), fishing poles available (buy a can of corn for good bait). We made s'mores in the fire pit and our boys really liked that. My husband and I loved watching the sunset on the upper deck each night with a glass of wine. We saw beavers and a bald eagle! Cabin is easy driving distance to Hurricane Ridge, Lake Crescent/Marymere Falls, Sol Duc and even Rialto Beach. We have such fond memories. Thank you Lucia and Todd for sharing your home with us!
We had a wonderful time at the cabin. It is much better than the pictures! We enjoyed canoeing on the lake. Saw a bald eagle and caught a fish! Went to Rilato Beach at low tide and walked to Hole In the wall for tide pooling. Best of all was just relaxing on the deck soaking in the view.
Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!
