WELCOME HOME! My homes are unlike most rentals. I make sure to meet all of your needs and then some. In addition to being an artist/designer I worked for the Hotel Del Coronado for years so I know 5 star hospitality well. Everything is there waiting for you and anything else you may want, just ask.
I have three properties to meet all of your vacation needs. This Little House (my biggest pride and joy), a studio and a 3 bedroom. Just let me know what you need and I will be happy to help! #968530, #1106622 and #1134743.
Do you like being pampered and spoiled when on vacation? Does your dog also? :-) I know I do, so I made sure I designed a getaway that would give my guests that experience. This wonderful charmer will give you a home away from home experience. I paid close attention to all the details like the incredibly comfortable recliner, the mounted TV that swivels and extends fully to view from all areas of the room, the plush beds and bedding, the selection of sleeping pillows, the industrial style lighting throughout, and the drawers and cabinets fully stocked with “oops, I forgot or ran out” items. If you have dogs they will love the nearly 1/2 acre, fully fenced back yard and the front porch can also be enclosed for pet paradise!
My first guests said it best, “There was so much attention to detail and you went high end, not middle of the road”. “Can I take the bed home with me? It was so luxurious!”.
This charming, totally unique, bright and sunny 1955 cabin is fully refurbished and designed by me, Melissa, the owner and long time Idyllwild resident/artist/teacher. It is very upscale, clean and well stocked. This cozy little 550 square foot “Little House” is filled with my art and has a post modern-industrial-chic feel. The nearly 1/2 acre backyard is completely fenced and private in a very quiet neighborhood. The front deck is also gated so your dogs can always be with you off leash! The space works well for one to two people, couples or a small family (including the family dog!). ***Keep in mind that the loft is VERY COZY and works best for short adults or children.*** It is also the perfect place for entertaining on the two decks (as long as the noise level stays respectful to the neighbors). Important to note: You will feel cozy and warm in the winter and cool in the summer due to our brand new state of the art HVAC unit. In addition, the warmth from the wood burning stove and ceiling fans will help too.
Please treat our cabin with respect as you would your own home. Our town is very fragile with the drought so due to that reason we do not allow smoking on the premises. We also love dogs and are happy to share our home with your well behaved “kids” (two dogs max, a third considered if you ask me). Please cover our beds with the dog blankets provided and please do not let them on the furniture. They cannot be left alone to roam in the house or yard. Most places in town are very dog friendly so they can join you or we offer the use of a crate if you want to leave the dog in the home. If you have children please make sure they understand to be respectful of the art throughout the house.
No parties please, but having some friends over to barbecue or enjoy a beverage on the deck(s) is fine. Our neighborhood is very quiet and has some full time owners who would not appreciate the noise. Please observe extra quiet hours from 10 pm to 8 am.
High definition smart TV providing Netflix, and many other internet applications. Cable is also available with over 120 channels. Free wifi, an assortment of books and games are available also. Well stocked kitchen and an on your honor bar if you ran out or forgot something. Some wood provided free of charge to enjoy the wood burning stove and extra wood available for purchase.
We have three bikes available for use. Walk or drive quickly anywhere in our small, quaint town. Only 1.5 miles to town center.
I have been living in Idyllwild, working as an artist, and teaching art at the local Idyllwild Arts Academy for over 17 years. I always wanted to find the perfect little rustic home with great energy, light and potential for my “art project”. I knew the minute I walked into this 1955 classic that it was my new canvas. This renovation project has been an incredible experience filled with love and passion. I hope you fall in love with this charismatic, charming little cozy cabin as much as I have. Relax, put your feet up, pour a glass of your favorite beverage and feel “home”.
Please note: The main floor bedroom has one sliding barn door and the other door has curtains. We purposely did not want to give the cabin a boxed-in feeling so the house is open and bright with a full circle walk around. It still feels very private if people use the loft and the bedroom.
If you would like a wonderful facial, massage or personal chef, flowers or any other gift for a special occasion just let me know!
