Thank you so much Kathy! We would welcome you and your daughters back any time! Thank you for your kind words.
This property is STUNNING and the hosts are just lovely! The on-site amenities, nearby wineries, Angry Orchard Cider House, Gardiner (Wilflower Farms restaurant is to die for), New Paltz farmers market, and Gunks hiking are all incredible. Cannot recommend a stay here enough!

Thank you so much for your kind words and we agree there is LOTS to do in the area. Of course, that means leaving the property which many people hate to do!
Property was amazing. Owner is on site which could be a pro or con. The Gardner was at the house are last day, she stuck to herself but I felt a slight invasion of our privacy.

Sharon agreed to our contract that says:
"6. Access
Guest shall allow Homeowner and maintenance people access to the property
for purposes of grounds and pool maintenance and repairs. Homeowner shall exercise
this right of access in a reasonable manner."
We always strive to respect our guests' privacy and comfort. In this case, our gardener introduced herself and politely asked for permission before proceeding with light, non-intrusive manual trimming—well away from the pool area and without the use of any power tools.
What an incredible property! The photos online dont even do it justice. We were impressed with every unique characteristic. The home is beautifly furnished & spacious & has both areas you can gather everyone in one spot or space for everyone to have their own privacy. We loved the pool and enjoyed the best view of the stars from the hot tub. The hosts were fantastic and made our stay a 10/10 . We will be coming back.

Irena and Richard were phenomenal hosts. They were eager help us in any way necessary to ensure an enjoyable stay. We were in the area for my son's graduation from Marist University and the extra days enjoying family times in such a beautiful environment was amazing!

Thank you so much for making us your home away from home. We enjoy having your family at lavender hill. We look forward to seeing you again.
Our stay was delightful. The owners couldn't have been more helpful. The outdoor grounds were beautiful. Watching nature unfold, swimming in the pool, and relaxing in the whirlpool were just a few highlights. Every possible item you needed in the kitchen was there. Even the dog thought she made it to heaven.

Thank you so much for your kindness. We hope to see you again soon!
We stayed at Lavender Hill for five nights with six adults and two grandchildren. It rained for most of our stay. We did manage to use the pool which was great. The property was really the highlight with so many seating areas. The covered dinning table was a life saver because of the weather. The bedrooms were a good size as well as the
bathrooms. The kitchen could use a bit of a refresh and a problem with flies which we pointed out to them.Communication was wonderful. We had a little issue and they immediately took care of it. Overall a great stay.
Richard and Irena were amazing hosts who were super communicative and kind. The house and property are just beautiful. The pool was where we spent the majority of our time and the variety of seating areas allowed our group multiple sites to relax. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable. The outdoor grill was used almost everyday and allowed us to eat Al fresco! The house was so lovely that my colleagues are thinking of renting it out for their stays! We didn’t venture too far off but when we did we saw frogs, garter snakes and jumping spiders! Also just be careful walking too far into the woods one of us did get a tick bite. Other than that we had a wonderful time and would highly recommend it to everyone! Thank you Irena and Richard!! — we did have a dog with us and the house was well prepped with a dog bowl :)
This was a perfect 4th of July escape from NYC. We managed to keep the driving to reasonable times given the holiday weekend. The property was everything that was advertised. A beautifully maintained property that offers real privacy, with all the amenities you would want for a summer escape-- pool, firepit, hot tub, and acres of beautiful property to look at and explore. The house is rustic, roomy, and with the feel of a villa in Southern Europe, highlighted by an incredible book collection that makes me want to come back to read! The property is also very dog friendly (our pup Ruthie was in heaven the whole weekend) and filled with friendly wildlife- deer, turkeys, and chipmunks abounded.

Thank you so much for your kind words. We are very happy you had a restful time at Lavender Hill. You are welcome back to read anytime. :)
We had a fantastic vacation! This property ticks all the boxes. Comfort, privacy and a heated pool nestled in the shadow of the Shawangunk mountain ridge. The hosts are very friendly, they live in a separate house across the wide driveway; They are friendly and available when needed but respect your privacy. The rental house is completely separate and private from the hosts' residence. A lovely property with many shaded nooks to hang out, snack, swim, read, relax, etc.. Don't neglect to visit Minnewaska while you are here. Check out the trail up to Castle Rock. The view of the 'Gunks and the Catskills in the distance will blow your mind!
Thanks Irina and Richard, for your hospitality. We're so glad we came and we look forward to the next occasion, if we get the chance!

Great tips! Minnewaska is gorgeous and just a very short drive away.
I have found my happy place. Thank you for sharing this beautiful home with us. We came for a quick trip but we will be back for longer this summer for sure. The grounds are even nicer then pictured. You can tell they are constantly improving. We walked to the stream. We used the hot tub day and night. We sat outdoors and indoors. We cooked dinner in the great kitchen. It was not warm enough for the pool yet but that's why we want to come back this summer. We did visit some places in the area. We took a hike around minnewaska lake and stopped at tuthill distillery on the way back. Honestly we didn't want to leave the property. I barely could bring myself to leave when our time was up. We will be back.

Thank you so much for your kind words, we strive to make our the house as comfortable as possible. We hope to have you back.
We had a wonderful time at this special property. Irena and Richard were the perfect hosts. Although they live on the property, they were completely unobtrusive and left us to ourselves after check-in. The house was absolutely immaculate, with a well-stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. All the reviews mentioning the towels are true; the number of towels in this house is mind-boggling. The pool area is completely private and riddled with seating options, while the hot tub is top-of-the-line. We spent a lot of time under the pergola; the fan and overhead lighting make it the perfect spot for evening card games. Irena and Richard have thought of everything! We hope to stay here again next year.
We had a wonderful week-long stay this summer. We spent every day lounging by the pool and our family (including our girls and our dog) loved exploring the property and playing in the yard. It was a great escape from the NYC area. The house was cozy, comfortable and easy to settle into. All the small details were thought of - the kitchen was great and there were plenty of beach towels and floats. We left ready to plan our next stay!
We had an incredible family vacation at this property and would strongly recommend it to everyone!!! Our hosts, Irena and Richard were so incredibly sweet and accommodating and made us feel at home.
The home and property are breathtaking and made us feel relaxed and rejuvenated. The nostalgia of the home was something out of a storybook that made you feel somehow deeply connected to the past. We can't say enough!
Thank you Irena and Richard!

This review made us smile, thank you so much for your lovely words. It is so heartwarming when someone feels the magic.
My wife and I stayed with our two sons and families - 6 adults and two children ages 4 and 10 and our dog. The house is absolutely perfect. The kitchen (and outdoor grill) are great for cooking for a large group and the dining area outside is delightful. We had total privacy even tough Richard and Irena are nearby and they were totally considerate of our space.
The grounds are absolutely lovely with beautiful flowers and hummingbirds flying around. The pool is heated and the hot tub is new and cosy. My son's last words before they returned home to Minnesota were "Can we plan on staying here every year?" and my answer is "Yes. That would be perfect."
beautiful property, excellent stay, please read on
We stayed for 4 nights this week on the combined occasions of my wife’s mother’s birthday, and my and my wife’s wedding anniversary. In our group we had 5 adults and 4 children ranging in age from 3 to 12.
The property is gorgeous and secluded and was even nicer than what we were hoping for based on the listing. Property owners Richard and Irena live next door and are a very sweet couple with grandchildren of their own. They were always available for questions or to assist with the house and at one point they even brought over some fresh zucchini they picked from their own garden next door and gave it to us to use in our cooking. Very easygoing and good hosts, and to be clear they left us alone except for when we called them and when they brought over the zucchini as a gift.
As for the amenities: welcoming swimming pool area with views of a field that has a walking trail that our 3 year old loved to go on. Outdoor shower by the pool area for those who are into communing with nature that way. Outdoor furniture all over the property, from the pool area to the barbecue/dining area to the front of the house - it seems like they’ve thought of these little details to make everything as convenient as possible for the guests. All sides of the house have picturesque views, especially the field behind the house with the walking trail that i mentioned earlier. Very convenient bluetooth speakers in the dining/barbecue area that we enjoyed using during our outdoor dinners, a well-maintained outdoor hot tub just steps from the swimming pool area, strong wifi in the house, a TV with full streaming services, more towels that we could ever need for both pool and shower (robes too), excellent fully equipped kitchen that we made great use of, little games here and there for the kids (like cornhole set, outdoor jenga, also a selection of books for our 3 year old), good water pressure in the showers, and very nice Japanese-style automated toilet seat in the main upstairs bathroom.
I hope I’ve covered everything, like i said, it seems like Richard and Irena have thought of everything, especially the little things.
Would definitely stay here again.
We had a lovely stay at Richard's property. The backyard and pool area is summer perfection and the house was spacious, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!
