We had an unforgettable stay at this wonderful stone house with friends who are getting married. It’s one of the most interesting and unique places we have visited, and transports you to a different time and place. There are restaurants and shops within walking distance, which is really convenient. The care and attention to preserving the history of the house is evident everywhere, and during our stay we kept discovering new details to admire. In addition the house has several beautiful gardens to enjoy! A must visit for anyone who admires history, art, and architecture!

About the host
Hosted by Gary Tinterow
Wynkoop House is the country home of a museum curator and an antique dealer. We are happy to share this special place with interested guests.
Why they chose this property
Wynkoop House is a rare survivor from the 18th-century into the 21st. The owners have furnished the house with period antiques while invisibly introducing modern conveniences, such as indoor plumbing, electricity and heat.
What makes this property unique
George Washington chose this house when he visited Marbletown in 1782. Many guests have commented on the magic of a Wynkoop House stay. It truly is a trip to the 18th century.
