This unit also comes fully equipped with a propane barbeque on the main balcony, fully stocked kitchen with pantry, dishwasher, DVD/Blu-ray players equipped with BOSE sound system and Wi-Fi access. Additionally, a private laundry room is located directly outside the unit’s door. The property is just as the photos show, very nice. The view is beautiful. Two issues were we were unable to pull the bed out of the sofa bed (so my son didn't get a bed) and the bathroom tub stopper wasn't working, so the water wouldn't drain. Other than that, everything was great.

Horrible sleeping situation

The villa had mold in the bathroom. Also you had about a 2 1/2 inch mattress that you put on the floor to sleep on.

Too expensive for what you get

The property was mostly as listed but lacked a lot of instruction. We could not find sheets for the pull out bed but instead found a mattress cover thrown in the closet and a blanket that had stains on it. The downstairs shower was not easy to operate. Front door was hard to open unless you lifted the door. Golf cart instructions were gone. The window was broken and would not close. The blinds were broken. For the price, I would not stay here again.

If I could have given a zero star it would have been too much. This place was filthy dirty, many things were broken and not maintained. Dishes and appliances were dirty, a dried on smashed bug was on the wall unreachable but us so had to live with it, window cranks were broken so couldn’t open the windows, tv didn’t work, pots and pans were so dirty we couldn’t use them, no spare toilet paper, lights were burned out or not working, dining room furniture was so worn it hurt to sit on the seats…I could go on. Oh! And golf cart broke down and water heater broke!

July 2019 Stay

We have been to Catalina island Before just for the night. We decided to stay in a condo in Hamilton cove, unit 1-53. Staff was friendly and helpful. We rented what they called a 2 -bedroom that sleeps 6 people. Saw pics and was very impressed. We got to the condo and found that the second bedroom was exactly a dining room with the table removed and replaced with a Murphy bed. Not a bedroom at all. In master bedroom was a comforter with yellow stains on it. The walls were dirty and the kitchen sink, the faucet was loose. The balcony in the picture shows it is big enough to have 6 people on it. In reality, it was small and can fit 3 people on it,but the view off the balcony was great. The bbq pit was dirty and not been clean in months, since the grease pan was just a turkey pan and baking pan and had a tons of grease in it. Also in the description, nothing said about no air conditioning, not a real problem because we opened the windows for fresh air. The decor was nice. Also, whe

Catalina Island for the weekend is a must!

Sure you can go for the day... but why not stay for a night or two so that you can wake up each morning with a beautiful view? The view will have you feeling as if you were on a island on the otherside of the world. The architecture of this specific complex has a Tuscany/Mexican feel. I've been to both Italy and Mexico coast so this is a great local option. As the old saying goes, its WHO you with that matters. We had a blast sitting out on the patio with our morning cup of joe talking, then we enjoyed the shops, food and bars in town and lastly came home to a safe and secure area to call it a night. My only complaint was the provided golf cart. It was super loud, in some cases we were the laughing stock of the city. It sounded as if it was a car without a catalytic converter. I called in and tried to get it fixed but was told that wouldn't be happening. There was no replacement option and getting gas is tough so don't leave that to the last minute. But back to the unit, everything about it is great. One other thing to be aware of though...one of the 2 bedrooms (upstairs) is not a true bedroom. Its a Murphy bed with a pocket door facing the kitchen and double pocket doors facing the livingroom therefore privacy is limited. Bed was comfortable and view from the window makes up for it. While in the city take time to enjoy every door to shop, bar and restaurant. Each are unique and could be a fun time, or you could be the one to bring the fun depending on WHO you come with or meet.

Beautiful view and a quiet location. Highly recommend the owners provide an instruction sheet for the operation of appliances and the unit's quirks, plus a map of the property. Examples: The front door requires lifting in order to open and close, it was unclear whether or not we could use the bathroom's white towels for the pool or beach (so we didn't), location of the bedding for the hide-a-bed, if croquet mallets are available to use, and so on. Basic cleaning supplies are provided (dish soap and dishwasher pods), however there were no sponges or dish cloths, so we used paper towels. Several of the Teflon pans need to be replaced and microwavable bowls and coffee cups would be good to add to the kitchen. I agree with a previous reviewer that the furniture is too bulky for this small unit.

Love Catalina!!!

We fully enjoyed our stay! The condo was perfect for our family of four. The location and property amenities were truly fabulous. It had everything we needed and we were more than content. The view was fantastic! We really miss waking to that extraordinary view and the sound of the ocean, so will be back as quickly as we can!

we travel quite a bit and stay in similar rentals or higher end hotels / resorts. this unit was by far the worse. it was not as advertised on vbro. food on carpet, dirty blanket with cat or dog hair, holes in screens, lose carpet in living areas where I tripped or stubbed my toe, the unit was not cleaned appropriately, toilet upstairs did not work, his doesn't inforce no kids in hot tub so didn't enjoy as there were babies in diapers! we waisted a good portion of our trip with cleaning, repairs and don't feel the cost was justified. won't be back.

Catalina is always relaxing...

one huge negative is that the condo was beautifully favored in a Spanish style decor, however for the money spent i was disappointed in the dilapidated state of the furniture. The coffee table was wobbly with 3 leggs loose, the dish washer was duck taped closed, torn floppy screen in living room, 2 out of 4 lights butt out over dining table.

This unit in Hamilton Cove is spectacular. The unit is very nicely furnished and has top of the line appliances. Every thing we needed was there and worked. The owners have gone out of their way to make this unit feel like home. The golf cart was a great asset. The view is breath taking and exactly as advertised. We had good internet and appreciated the large LCD Smart TV's with a Bose sound system so we could use our Pandora and Netflix accounts. We will definitely will go back and highly recommend this property.
