We had a lovely stay at Mountain Memories! It's in a great location on the river, and a quick drive to numerous hikes and Stevens Pass. The hot tub on the deck was super relaxing. Communication with our host was easy and thorough.

Hi Deidre! We're thrilled to hear you had a wonderful stay at our Mountain Memories! We'd love to welcome you back again for another relaxing & adventurous getaway. Happy trails!
Beautiful and cozy cabin with an amazing view. Upstairs loft with king bed is comfortable but a bit creaky if you are coming as a family, but definitely on my favorites list for location and view.

Hi Jeff, thanks so much for 5 stars on our Mountain Memories! We appreciate the great review. Happy trails!
We loved everything about our stay! The space was clean and cozy, the kitchen well-stocked with wares that made cooking easy, and the location was perfect. It rained for the majority of our stay, but the view of the river from inside the cabin was perfect. The hot tub was clean and worked perfectly. This cabin is perfect for a cozy fall or winter stay.

We had a wonderful time at the cabin. Complete peace and quiet, just what we were looking for. River was great and easy to access took the kids fly fishing every morning.
It was very cozy. The cabin was clean and quiet. Very much needed recharge. The walk to the river can be a little slippery so make sure you are wearing appropriate footing. The hottub was nice an warm and very romantic.

We had a great stay in this cozy cabin on the river. The home was toasty warm for our late arrival in a snowy February. We enjoyed the comfortable family room with a fireplace. The hot tub was hot and a perfect remedy after a ski day at nearby Steven's Pass. We are excited to return in the summer to enjoy the river just off the spacious back deck.

Superb!!!
the place was extremely clean and well maintained, which we are appreciative of. We are very lucky to visit!
The cabin worked out well for my wife and I.
Very, very quiet and peaceful. I’m not one to just sit around. This may be the first time I’ve ever just spent the day lounging. The back patio was perfect for this. Beautiful view of the river and the sounds of water.
The rear patio is enclosed and looks like you could just relax with your dog safely contained, but under the bench seats is wide open and our dog immediately was out. Once we realized this we just kept an eye on her. Would be great if something was done to secure the patio better.
That being said. The place was warm and inviting. The vaulted ceiling made the cabin feel very spacious.
Would come back again.
lounging on the comfy couch while watching the river flow and the clouds crossing the mountain was relaxing. the river was running high due to snow melt, so no fishing. we loved crossing the historic one-lane wooden suspension bridge as we set out on our adventures each day.
details…
great water pressure, hot water, ice maker, washing machine, gas stove and fireplace. good dishes, non-stick pots, baking pans, colander, basic spices and allergy-friendly soaps. upstairs bed was very comfortable, but downstairs mattress needs to be replaced. lots of good storage space and closets to hang clothes. odd bathroom configuration made the toilet area a little tight. internet was spotty and needed to be reset using the QR code on the fridge. management was easy to reach via text message, and was responsive to a housecleaning issue.
Amazing views and a great location, but there are issues
The rental has great landscaping with amazing river/mountain views. The patio/fireplace/hot tub are excellent. However, there are several issues:
1. Shower sliding doors got stuck & one came out of its track.
2. The top bracket holding the shower head is coming out of the wall.
3. The kitchen sink spray nozzle leaks when water is on.
4. The outdoor grill & fireplace were not cleaned, so we cleaned them.
5. The freezer ice maker can't be turned off & constantly makes ice.
6. The overhead light in the downstairs bedroom is very dim.
7. Not all hot tub buttons/functions work properly; it needs a new control panel.
8. The downstairs bedroom wall heater is broken, requiring space heaters from the closet which must be watched to prevent overheating.
The above issues can be fixed easily by maintenance & did not impact our stay. However, the following problems are more difficult to address & did affect our stay:
1. The toilet is separate from the bathroom & includes a sink. The room is so small & sink so large it’s difficult to use the toilet. Elderly/heavy-set people will find it extremely hard to use. A smaller sink would help.
2. The stairs to the upstairs bedroom are incredibly steep & lack a dedicated light for safe nighttime use of the downstairs bathroom; and the railing is not very sturdy.
3. The neighbors to the east have an aggressive dog that trespasses onto the property.
4. The entire east half of the house is settling, causing several doors to not open or close properly.

Hi Jarred! Wow- this extensive list was already shared with us -after your departure, no options to help- and most of it was super easy to confirm user error or quick fix. We actually couldn't replicate most of the issues you described here (everything you said didn't work was working fine when we checked, things like the heater just needed the GFCI reset), we are very clearly just minutes away to help in person whenever needed. Otherwise, it seems perhaps a cabin in the woods might not be the best fit for your elderly group that had issues with lighting, stairs, and mobility. We are very transparent with any challenges these quirky mountain homes might have and are always available to help guests find the perfect place for them, especially if there are some special needs to accommodate. We hope that future guests can see from our history of 5 star reviews that this is an amazing getaway, loved by many that have stayed without issue. We have 24/7 on-call services and own a maintenance company to help immediately with anything that comes up, just give us a call :)
