Perched high atop a mountain ridge in Black Mountain, NC, this arts & crafts style cottage borders a 600 acre nature preserve and features amazing panoramic mountain views from every window.
The 1,900 sq ft, 3 bedroom, 3 bath house is under new ownership and has just been remodeled and completely refurnished. The property has beautiful long range views of the Black Mountains, including Craggy Pinnacle, Mt. Mitchell, and Grandfather Mountain. The secluded mountain setting is only 5 miles from historic downtown Black Mountain (including Ingles grocery store and interstate 40), and 25 minutes from downtown Asheville. It's the perfect getaway for those that love nature, but also want to be close to coffee shops, dining, shopping, and all the activities of town.
The cozy house is flooded with natural light, and features an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings, gas fireplace, hardwood floors, tile baths, and custom woodwork throughout. The fully equipped custom kitchen has everything needed for cooking and entertaining including an electric range & oven, microwave, Keurig, french press and more. We keep basics such as dish soap, dish washer detergent, paper towels, spices, sugar, and coffee filters on hand, and your first morning's coffee is on us. The house has two living rooms, one on the main floor and one on the garden level, and each one is equipped with a flatscreen TV, DirecTV, DVD player, and WiFi. The large deck gives you a front row view of the awe inspiring mountain scenery.

Grand View is located 1.7 miles up a gravel road. The road is well-maintained, but expect some bumps as you make your way up the hill. Speeding will not be tolerated. Please observe posted speed limit signs in our neighborhood and drive slowly. Our close-knit community is full of hikers, runners, dog walkers, and mountain bikers that enjoy using the road for recreation. There are many blind corners that are dangerous if one speeds. If you stay in 2nd gear the whole way up and down the mountain, we and the neighbors will happily welcome you back. Drive like your kids live here.
If you are visiting us during the winter season and you do not have a 4 wheel drive, you may wish to carry chains with you. We live in the neighborhood and do just fine without 4 wheel drive, but we always carry chains during the winter. In the event of a snow or ice storm, the road is usually cleared in the morning, and throughout the day. A snow shovel and ice melt are provided at the house for your use as well.
