Hello; My name is Sara Swann your hostess at our country cottage in Asheville, N.C. My passion is my home place which I named after my mother, Robena. She was an inspiration to me and my two sisters who fostered 50+ children over the years in this home. We slept under quilts she had made waking to the smell of homemade biscuits and gravy. My dad always grew a garden and was a minister who loved his family very much. I have many good memories growing up in this home. It only feels right to share this wholesome home with others.
Want to share my home place where I grew up.
We had a wonderful stay in Asheville and Robena's Place was the perfect getaway retreat. I have stayed in multiple VRBO's in the states and Robena's Place is my favorite so far! It was the perfect location to downtown Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The house itself was adorable, cozy, inviting and well-equipped. Upon arrival we loved the music playing, candle warming and basket full of fruit and muffins, not to mention the beautiful fresh flowers in every room! Every morning we'd have our coffee on the front porch in the rocking chairs. While listening to the birds and enjoying the mountain view, we were greeted daily by the most adorable cat; she would hang around for a few minutes and then was off on her little cat adventures. One night we grilled out and ate on the back patio. The kitchen had everything we needed for our cookout. The grill also had a gas side and charcoal side which was great to have options. The beds were also cozy and comfortable, especially after long days of hiking. We went to the Biltmore which was amazing. We didn't know what to expect and in fact thought it might be a little hokey. We were pleasantly surprised and loved the house, grounds, lunch, and rooftop tour which was worth the extra money. We also enjoyed the 50+ breweries in the area, although we only made it to about 10. We were surprised that most of the breweries closed about 9. There didn't seem to be much night life or live music.
We did catch an Indigo Girls concert at the Orange peel which was a cool small venue next door to Wicked Weed Brewery which we heard was just bought by Anheuser Busch! New Belgium, Wicked Weed Funkatorium and Burial were some of our favorite breweries. The Blue Ridge Parkway was amazing and magnificent! We stayed one week and didn't begin to see everything we wanted to see. We will be back again for sure and we will definitely stay at Robena's place!
Robena's Place was everything I expected and more. We were very happy with the house, the decor was just our style and we had everything we needed.
Thank you, Sara!
I couldn't have found a more perfect place for us! My Father-in-law, daughter and grandson all want to live there. We went to Asheville for our sons wedding and had a wonderful visit. The weather was perfect, the view was outstanding and the house was beautiful. If you are looking for a relaxing, comfortable place to stay in Asheville, this is it! I guarantee you will not be disappointed. We will definitely be going back.
I stayed in late March 2017 with a few girlfriends, and this place was the best! Great views, nice front porch for coffee in the morning, cute cottage and decor, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, ideal for a group. The location was good, too, reasonable drive to downtown. Thanks for helping make this a great stay!
The house was quaint, very clean and I would highly recommend it
I came to Ashville with my husband and two young children to visit our friend who lives in downtown Ashville. I couldn't have been happier with this sweet little home. It was clean and sweetly decorated with comfortable beds and towels. My 6 year old fell in love with the Animal Haven down the road and my husband and I both appreciated how close the house was to everything we wanted to do. I would highly recommend this sweet home to stay in while visiting Asheville.
