Overview

About the property

2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 4

Soaring ceilings, sunlit rooms, and attractive furnishings distinguish this townhouse in the desirable Railyard district. Treat yourself to fine southwestern living, just a short hop from the Plaza!

Sunlight pours through skylights, transoms, and large windows into the common area of Southwest at the Railyard. The high vaulted ceiling and beams of bright light give this room a feeling of wide-open spaces, though it can also be made quite cozy by lighting the wood-burning kiva stove and snuggling up on the handsome leather sofa. Southwestern rugs decorate the high walls, and an HDTV with DVD player and cable stands ready to entertain you after a long day outdoors. Settle in and get comfortable in this beautiful space!

At one end of the long common area is the kitchen, complete with generous breakfast bar and cozy round table -- just right for a quick round of gin rummy while the food is cooking! The kitchen counter is charmingly tiled, the appliances are spotless and so convenient, and the cupboards are stocked with pots and pans, dishes and utensils, and all types of chef's tools. You might just be reheating leftovers from Santa Fe's marvelous restaurants or whipping up a quick tray of nachos and sangria, but you could prepare a full Thanksgiving feast with the equipment in this kitchen. Just add groceries, and you're good to go!

Southwest at the Railyard is all on one level, for easy accessibility. The master suite is just off the living room, with a four-poster double bed, bright window, and plenty of storage space. The en-suite bath offers a walk-in shower, and of course, all towels and linens (for every bed and bath at Southwest at the Railyard) are provided. There is even a washer and dryer to keep everything fresh and sweet throughout your stay!

The second bedroom is ideal for children, grandparents, or friends traveling with you. It contains two twin beds and has access to the second full bath at Southwest at the Railyard, which includes both a shower and tub option. Plenty of storage space and open floor for toys, ski equipment, and projects!

Of course, as comfortable and attractive as the interior of Southwest at the Railyard is, your favorite part of this townhouse may be the exterior -- the charming private patio, that is! There is seating around a big table for 4 here, plus additional seating and lounging space. Part of the patio is covered, part not, so you can adjust your position based on the weather. And a charcoal grill awaits steaks, fish, kebabs, and more!

Southwest at the Railyard is in the Old Town of Santa Fe, just 4 blocks walk from the Plaza, in a neighborhood teeming with parks. The Santa Fe River Trail is here; music and art change almost daily in the public spaces; yet you can have quiet and privacy in the midst of all the bustling cultural scene when you stay at this lovely townhouse. Great location & friendly neighborhood

  • 4 of 5

We travel to Santa Fe at least once a year and typically stay in hotels around or on the plaza. This year family traveled with us so we stayed in a VRBO. This property is perfect for walking the city and close enough for quick trips back to the nest to refresh. We had three people and two fur babies and the house layout is very spacious. Small back yard with patio furnishings was a perfect way to start and end the day.

Nice place close to Plaza

  • 4 of 5

Nice, little town-home close to the Plaza and Railyard! Our dogs enjoyed the fully fenced-in yard and enjoyed walks along the river trail. We visited with our 6 and 4 year-old kids and they loved the "kids" bedroom and slept really well! We walked everywhere and it was close enough that the kids did well. The place could use a good deep cleaning and some updates in the bathrooms, but it worked great for us.

Owner's Response: Hi Sarah, Thank you so much for your review! We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and appreciated the close proximity to the Plaza. All members of the family are more than welcome and that definitely includes our furry friends. It is good to know that they had just as much of a great time as you. We value all comments and suggestions from guests as this is how we can improve the overall vacationing rental experience. If you should ever find yourself back in the area, we would love to host you again in the future with of course a small "returning guest" gesture. Andrew Kim Kokopelli Property Management

Great Location-Terrible Maintenance

  • 2 of 5

Take this property off your list.....not because of the actual property but because of the management company., Kokopelli Property Management. I wish I could tell the owner the issues we had, staying their home. We checked in last Monday. Their office is offsite so after a day of travel we went over to pickup the keys. You guessed it, they gave us the wrong keys. I called twice, someone finally answered and said they would be right over with new keys. 30 minutes later (the office was 5 min. away), here came the keys. After one night in the rental, Kokopelli's home office in Tennessee called to see how our stay was going. I said terrible-ants, moldy shower curtain, no sink drain in one of the bathrooms (say good-bye to your contacts, etc!), air cond was barely cooling, etc. A very nice lady said she would talk to the Santa Fe office on Tuesday. No phone call at all on Tuesday. I called the local office on Wednesday, left a message for "Andrew", no call back. I called again Wednesday afternoon, reached a woman who was more interested in the fact I said their corporate office had called. Then she proceeded to very irately tell me I should have called on Tuesday....really????? I had to interrupt her to tell her about the issues--by then I had photos of no drain, clumps of hair/dirt around the couch, more bugs-crawling (not dead), broken hair dryer, etc. Later on Wednesday, someone came in while we were gone and replaced the moldy shower curtain and left our door unlocked. Great . There was still no drain, and no hair dryer and by this time, I started spraying the bugs myself. There were large holes in the screen, but the bugs seemed to be coming from vents, etc. No one called me back--we were there all week, paying $1,000+ for 5 nights. No one offered a credit of any kind, or called to see if the issues had been resolved. We will NEVER use this company again, AND if I could contact the homeowner I would have. I feel sorry for them. We are property owners ourselves and regardless of the location, want our homes clean and comfortable for the renters. This was terrible customer service not to mention property management.

Owner's Response: Chelle, We are sorry to hear about your experience as this is not the standard of service that we uphold. Guest comfort is important to us and we are completely committed to improving in the areas that we seemed to have fallen short. We understand your frustrations and would like you to know that this is not a typical representation of our customer service. Our records show that you brought these issues to our attention and we are greatly appreciative. This gives us a chance to fix the issues for the next guests. Although we completely understand your reluctance to return, we hope that you will give us the chance to make things right and stay with us again in the future. We appreciate your feedback and honesty.

Ideal Location

  • 5 of 5

Great location near the center of town. Drive, or take an easy 15-20 minute walk, to the Plaza. Private spacious condo beautifully decorated in true Southwestern style. Very comfortable accommodations, with a fully stocked kitchen for meal preparation. Guide books, magazines, novels, TV. It's a home away from home. If you're there on a Saturday, check out the Farmer's Market at the Railyard.

Well located casita needs new mattresses and clean dishes

  • 1 of 5

This casita is perfectly located within walking distance to many of the Santa Fe sites of interest. It should have been a wonderful vacation week, but we founds the beds extremely uncomfortable. Queen mattress was extremely hard, one of the single beds sagged badly and the other was OK. An update to comfortable new mattresses would change this from a place we'd never to return to to one where we'd eagerly re-book. Another issue was that we found dirty dishes in the cupboard; food stuck to bowls and plates, grease in the frying pans, etc. All of which was completely unacceptable in any rental and especially at this price point. It is a large and sunny place with a great gas stove and large fridge, so could have been a perfect place for the 2 of us; but with out changes, we'd never return.

Great location. Perfect casita for a girls weekend or family stay. Well appointed unit.

  • 5 of 5

Loved the casita and location. Unit had two nice sized bedrooms, and bathrooms. Kitchen was well appointed and plenty of towels, linens and extra pillows. Nice surprise to have a patio and fireplace too.
