Please note that from October 20th to February 15th, beach access is restricted from sunset to sunrise to protect nesting turtles. During this time, you have a unique opportunity to rise early and observe the fascinating turtle tracks left on the beach from the night before.

Playa Grande is a beautiful beach in Costa Rica, situated in the canton of Santa Cruz within the province of Guanacaste. It lies within the Las Baulas National Marine Park, a vital conservation area for the leatherback turtle, and is renowned as one of the best surfing spots in the country.
In the walkable area of town, you'll find a selection of charming, locally-run restaurants. For instance, Victor and Dawnâs Cafe Mar Azul is a popular spot, offering a delicious menu and a perfect setting for enjoying a drink and appetizer as you watch another stunning sunset on the beach.
