There's nothing worse than a disingenuous guest/review. Mydris and I were in constant contact and she seemed satisfied with every text communication we had. It's like having a Y*lper go to a restaurant and when asked how the meal was, answers with glowing comments only to then go online and give a ridiculous review. In her own words "your space is super cute," "we just left your super cute space," "there are a few other things that aren't quite right but nothing that is hindering are stay." Maybe this was sarcasm on her part?? But we took it to heart she enjoyed her stay and had no major issues. To address her points directly, we do live out of state but have a very great team from cleaners to contractors, etc. We conduct monthly pest control and also spray additionally on a quarterly basis. She noted only "in the bathroom [and] a few in the kitchen" and when I asked her if she wanted my pest person to come spray, she declined as she gave me the impression she's from Florida and understood that there are many critters in Florida that come out during seasonal changes, rain, etc. We also do provide additional linen and wash cloths to our guests. When I directed her to the closet she said there were no wash cloths. When I mentioned perhaps previous guests had taken them, she replied "trust me...we have rental homes & it's sad...Thank you for responding your space is super cute." Again, we assume she could just use the additional towels that are there. Also, our listing specifically states we are a unit in a fourplex and NOT a house. We were unaware of the items she stated as there are 3 other long term tenants living on property who are more than satisfied with the upkeep of the property, but I have spoken with all of them regardless to keep the property tidy. Furthermore, we are NOT slumlords and have weekly lawn maintenance as well as continually improve our real estate holdings. Long story short, we have been landlords for 20+ years and have been renting out this particular unit for short term stay for the past year and have received nothing but 5 star reviews on all platforms. We are sorry we did not live up to Mydris' expectations, but had she been more direct with us with any issues during the stay, we would have been more than accommodating to make sure her stay was stellar. As is, there is nothing we can do after the fact and feel we do NOT deserve a 1-star review. Terribly disappointing as I thought Mydris and I had great communication throughout.
